I enjoy streaming the news I used to be able to get Indy stations where I lived but in my new location theyre not available This app works very well on my phone and makes me happy to see my news and weather friends again I also like reading what Bob Kravitz has to say he tells it like it is I like it
The ads are awful Read a story go back to the articles page ads randomly replace that story or the next one Everything gets jumbled around Some articles arent even the full ones either Theyll link to the WTHR website at the end for the full story Its just not userfriendly Cluttered

Nice app to have better than watching the newscast on tv wish you could go back to older stories and more currant stories and its odd they dont have the stories as the the other news stations in town and they need to make the radar pics bigger Dr dish
Get rid of pop up ads Im tired of trying to click on news article only to have ad pop up just as I click Then when I go back to news articles they have moved and trying to find them again is frustrating with new pop up ads Thinking of deleting app altogether Get rid of ads
The previous version of this app while sending far too many push notifications was still superior to the mess that is this version The stories continue to move while in use placing the same ads continuously in the middle of the users screen If it werent for the traffic info this app would be deleted from my device Frustrating
The last update touted bug fixes but now the app will randomly stop and close Maybe the bug fixes were specific to iPhone 6 but it really doesnt work so well on an iPhone 4 Actually there was no random stops with the previous version Last update causing issues

I had to turn off the notifications after I got about 10 breaking news alerts on the Jared Fogle case I appreciate breaking news but I dont need constant updates on Fogle or any other pointless media frenzy story Also 13 likes to send instant sports updates For those who record to watch later you may not want to keep your notifications on because you will receive a spoiler Ridiculous news alerts and spoilers
This app is ok for staying up to date on latest new in Indianapolis and the surrounding areas but here recently for some reason I can not open and read breaking new If you are wondering why it is because it is alway shoving ad down your throat Making it to where I can no longer read breaking news when it is need the most like when there are tornado warning in effect WOW Okay

I like this app for ease of navigation up to date content and solid writing Its one of the first apps I use to check news None
Im not a big fan of the Nightbeat However I do like this app Its layout is simple and well organized Look its not the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal so dont expect any indepth coverage of specific issues But its not trying to be that Its a decent amount of state national health sports and entertainment to get me through my breakfast And of the Local TV News apps this one is the tops Indy and national news over breakfast
Overall the news and other informational pieces are good What frustrates me and apparently others is the placement of the ads As you are scrolling through the news they pop in to appear as news stories or take enough time to load that the screen shifts and you accidentally tap on an advertisement and not a news story The ad videos load at poor times Due to the ads this is NOT my news app of choice while in public or at work which is most of the time If not for the ad placement purposeful way they slowly load in the news feed this would be the only news app I would need Thanks to the DISH contract this is the primary way to see WTHR news Too many ads

Im sad to have to agree with other reviews about the bleeping ads I realize they help pay the cost but lately its overwhelming And yes it does lock up tricks you to click on ads etc this is my go to app for all things Indiana You have a loyal following obviously but youre blowing it Address the issues many have least you find youre the wallflower at the News app dance Wake up Ads ads ads

Click on a story to read it and when you go back ads are added and the stories are moved around Now I get a portion of the story by only reading the blurb because I hate trying to find where I was before clicking on it Tired of story shuffle

Every time I sign on to wthr and start to read the news my IPad locks up and have to wait a short time and then open up the app again As I read it will lock up again and I have to start over again A real pain iPad locks up
I used to love this app and now the traffic quit working its terrible no map no traffic nothing but a page with ads on the bottom Traffic no longer works
Traffic info is always up to date It reflects true traffic conditions I love it Just turn off the notifications Traffic info is great

This used to be my goto app for news and weather but Im tired of it locking up in the middle of stories and the gyrations I have to go through to continue And I hate the contradicting weather forecast story entries Seems like it would be logical to delete the older entry when you post a newer one Sure I can look at the time on each article but why should a reader have two to look at Im glad your staff has won awards etc for reporting but how about putting some manpower on the delivery please Starting to get irritated
I used to use this app for local news all of the time It is now so frustrating to use I am looking for a new one The ads pop up and move the stories around so you cant read them I dont mind some ads just dont try to trick me into clicking on them Shame on you WTHR Awful

The podcasts are very glitchy and often off by about 5 minutes Since this app is free as well as its services I cant pass too much judgment I do like the podcasts though its a really good idea Its OK For Being Free

I know you can turn push notifications off But I like the ones that are actually informative For example when there is a traffic issue Amber alert or nationally breaking news I do not need to know that it is sunny outside Or that a person has been shot once againsomewhere on the nearEast side I swear my phone alerts 10 times a day with shootings and stabbings and hit and runsnone of which are actual news Other than the completely unnecessary push notifications I give this app three stars for being userfriendly Too many pointless push notifications
WTHR is my goto app for news about Indy and Central Indiana The app is decent and it is organized in a user friendly fashion A decent news app

Overall this app is nice to have However sometimes breaking news stories are hard to find and the radar is very small with blank white space around it Why not make it fit the full screen space When I try to zoom in it gets blurry Many times it doesnt even show my city even though Im in their viewing area Otherwise its a useful app Needs a few tweaks
Great app for keeping current on news in Indiana Easy to navigate and news articles posted daily A couple of improvement opportunities would certainly include the ads that shuffle to the middle of the screen view Also if I switch apps while stopped on an article the WTHR app restarts and loses my place when I return to it Very annoying Great source for local news

In addition to hating the annoying ads which by the way are designed so that they are accidentally hit very easily there is a new problem With the latest update the app locks up constantly Please fix ASAP I like the look and convenience of the app But you continue to add more and more annoying ads to the point that there is an ad following almost every story Youve placed ads at the bottom of the screen and those are very easy to click by accident I would much rather pay for the app than put up with the relentless aggravation of the ads Im about to the point of deleting the app altogether Update Tired of ads
