Update Jan 2018 Edit DO NOT INSTALL THIS APP it contains malware and a spam bot The developers have been made aware and have chosen to do nothing The app and the app for the money strapped herald no longer honor industry standards for dismissing ads Shame on these apps for blatantly putting money before ethical behavior Also and more concerning the app also tracks a users location regardless of the setting of location services This is a huge privacy issue and not cool Absolutely horrible Content is old and lacking And BTW the previous version no longer works so users are FORCED to update Every single update has degraded this app However do not expect the arrogant developers or station management to care about user feedback Now more annoying full screen pop ups Plus just when you are about to click on a story an ad comes from out of nowhere and you cannot get to the desired story It compounds the poor app when stories contain spelling and grammar mistakes Were that it were possible to rate an app zero stars this is deserving     Horrible JimVec

This continues to be by far the best local news app in Boston It has relevant content and user friendly features and it is consistently responsive including snippet video and live stream Unlike most of the competitor Boston news apps there are rarely any annoying glitches By the way 7News is still the superior Boston and Eastern Massachusetts local television news source Refreshingly no network affiliation is needed Though they were pretty clearly abused by NBC Comcast the ownership has refused to be marginalized and is now more dedicated to local news than ever If there is any karma in this world the nearly unwatchable news broadcasts and nearly unusable apps from the new NBC Comcast owned affiliate is solid evidence of it Even Pete Bouchard is lackluster in the NECN cloned backdrop It has cable TV quality written all over it A major plus to the 7News independence is that there are no longer any ties to a notoriously anti consumer cable operator It was a sad day indeed when the largest American cable operator had been allowed so much advantage as to be capable of purchasing a major OTA American television network Because cable operators in general are so arrogant as to believe they dictate consumer demand rather then respond to it they are slowly but surely digging their graves Unless the new wave of political conservatism continues to unduly protect their corrupt ways and if America doesn t wake up and respond fast that is a shocking potential the cable operators will be reduced from a stance of undue profit advantage to one of mere insignificance in the arena of television entertainment and news As far as I m concerned that won t happen a day too soon and it will be a major win for consumers Meantime 7News continues to independently deliver quality objectivity and reliability That trickles right down to the careful attention to detail and dedication to support they put into their mobile apps                     Independently Delivering Jadedgazelle
