Free app at least I got it to download a free book offer I got in an email I use other audiobook players Hoopla and Overdrive for free books from my local libraries They are way better players No controls on Volumes except pause and play Weak No fast forward or reverse no speed adjustments no display of time remaining or chapters I saw a bookmark icon once now it s gone         Needs a lot of work DJ_USA_Number1

I had downloaded the free books over the last few months and they are all gone now with the latest release of the app     Where did my books go Tom7981

What did you do I had Bunnicula and a Complete Beatrix Potter both free and a few samples and they are Gone     New Update lost all my Audio s Feral bkworm

Not only will this app not keep your place there is no way skip back to segments of a book Will only play the current segment section     Useless App kurtmorley

I love the book I m listening to but it is a total gamble whether hitting pause will keep your place return to the beginning of the hour long section or start you at a completely random place Half the time the time doesn t show up so I end up having to use the 30 second skip to get anywhere close Pretty ridiculous and certainly doesn t make me want to purchase through the app         Doesn t keep your place at all Soslight

The player doesn t even offer the most basic functions fast forward reverse anything Not only that but Ive downloaded free books in the past but after an iPhone crash they are all gone and don t even show up on a my account page that I can recover I hope that doesn t happen if you purchase books     Player is awful and account is a joke Fairfax Reader

This is basically a good idea but the app has nagging problems and a lot of catching up to do if it s going to compete with Audible s excellent one First every time you pause playback long enough for the phone to darken it s screen the whole app shuts down and you have to reopen it to continue listening There is no sleep timer which is a very very basic tool for any sort of audio app People listen to mobile apps like these in bed guys There doesn t seem to be a proper chapters feature so if you want to move forward or back in the playback your only option is to use the 30 second arrows There is no indicator of how much time remains in the recording so if you set off for a 40 minute drive you have no idea if you re going to run out of audiobook along the way A more sophisticated but still nice tool provided by the Audible app is the ability to bookmark passages to listen to again say if there s a sentence you want to remember or type out Volumes is a pleasant way to access audiobooks directly but it has a long way to go in terms of basic usability             Needs work Laurami

I think it is wise to create an app at least as good as the other apps people use for your function or not bother This is an audiobook app that doesn t save my place or have options for varying speeds for playback When I click play after pause or try to control it from the swipe menu it restarts from the start of a part When I unplug my headphones it keeps playing         Problems needing fixed before I will use again MrFixr

There no way to fast forward rewind bookmark or flip through chapters Worse yet it kept returning to the beginning of the book The way it is now with only play and pause for controls this app is worthless     Not User Friendly Melborn

Cons It doesn t tell you whether a free listen is an entire book or merely a sample It doesn t let you fast forward skip ahead scrub back to re hear something you may have missed You get play and pause and that s it You can t adjust your playback speed even Apple s feature sparse Music app lets you speed up or slow down playback in limited ways Nowhere does the display give an indication of your listening progress within an audiobook or how much time remains Pros It plays audiobooks and doesn t seem to cause spontaneous iPhone disintegration I m dumbfounded as to how this garbage could have 4 stars in the App Store         Possibly the worst listening tool available AlpacaLips

I agree with others what s the purpose of this app I can listen to iTunes audiobooks from the music app Why bother with another app I thought maybe it would be a good way to get a few classic audiobooks for free but the free section is empty Really Delete     Waste of time dainan

Unless you use your iPad in a vertical position this app is going to be hard to use I m sure the app developers will say if you are using it to listen it doesn t matter but if you want to use it to search for audiobooks it s a pain Deleting     Not for iPad 123MikeD

I don t understand the point of this app first of all it was just released and it s not even optimized for the iPhone 6 Plus It looks awful on my phone which is an immediate turn off Second in order to listen to audiobooks in the app you have to buy them from iTunes What Why would I not just listen to the books in the very nice looking functional Music app that Apple already provides Also Audible books are much less expensive than iTunes books they charge the flat rate of 14 95 per month and their app looks fantastic on all iPhones All together this app seems very poorly thought out     What s the point La'Shae

Volumes offers a way to look through recently released best selling audiobooks as well as tried and true favorite categories Being able to sample the audiobooks before buying is ideal and a great way to pass time while commuting to and from work                     Samples sample samples CBB0825
