I have been using this app to play some on line class lectures at higher speed Unfortunately the app will randomly launch ads that stop your video playback or your audio playback and cover the screen with unwanted advertisements The thing that finally drove me to leaving a bad review on here was that I literally had a full screen ad of a topless woman show up this morning This has to stop My children could have been using this app Or I could ve been streaming a perfectly innocent cartoon for them and then all of a sudden you got a naked woman in their face Not only do the ads completely interrupt the audio video that you are streaming but they also automatically start your entire video or audio from the beginning and you have to waste time finding where you left off     Porn advertisements 5 Star Reporter

I m really disappointed on the developer The app before was better had less intrusive ads and was less annoying to work with The ads in highlighted letter force you to buy the app because it is almost impossible to watch anything with those ads Please fix it or don t creat VLC streamer free just make a ad free version     Understand the ads they are just too annoying to watch anything Good but too much ads

This app is barely functional for the job it s supposed to do It requires a helper app creates pointless copies of the files you want to view and streams them incredibly slowly On top of that there is no picture in picture support Plus ads Yay     Incredibly useless app Mark 2000

I gave this app a lot of chances to earn my purchase of the full version but for naught There are several bugs I have waited multiple updates to see fixed only to be disappointed It has actually gotten buggier with time and essentially has even lost features due to those bugs I have gone as far as contacting the author and even my spent a large chunk of my own time tracking down and documenting the bugs However I was told that they couldn t replicate them in what seemed to be several whole minutes of testing They suggested I buy the paid version anyway No thanks As far as I can tell the is just a rather poor UI over some scripts that run VLC It crashes pretty consistently every 20 30 minutes of playback and has several major issues with keeping track of files which is essentially all it does The helper app is just as bad if not worse It quickly becomes unusable if you add any substantial number of files which is a substantial accomplishment considering it has almost no features to begin with It is not even capable of cancelling file conversions once started If you want to cancel a file conversion you have to manually track down the VLC instance it spawned and stop it BTW it installs its own instance of VLC meaning any custom settings you have made to your main VLC install will be useless and it may not even be the right version of VLC for your OS It seems the author is mainly in the business of making relatively simple UI front ends that bite off of other peoples hard work and isn t even willing to acknowledge bugs that are tested and documented for them You would be much better served by something like Plex or any other number of apps that cost the same or less and do more or much more     Failed Money Grab Nickl3aker

This app is absolute trash no where near as good as the official VLC app It requires processing of all Ideas before it will let you watch them which takes a long time and worst of all many are converted into very low quality files even when quality settings are on high VLC official app does not require conversion it just streams files Unfortunately there is a bug in the streaming feature so I was forced to download this trash until they fix it but omg this app is HORRIBLE iPhone 6s Plus     Garbage app iBoy2G

I ve been using VLC stream for half a year It s very easy to use stream videos very fast and simple interface Overall stream video quality is fairly good very little lag unless you re streaming high resolution video with explosion all the time You can also add video through your phone which is very convenience for computer set up on second floor                 Best stream player I used Elwincusper

If you have the need to stream from a home Media center this is an option worth checking out Its simple clean and the paid version offers much more functionality I primarily use it to stream recorded TV from my windows media center to an iphone or ipad So far its been fantastic There have been a few hiccups but they are fixed fairly quickly as long as they are reported on their support channel Would recommend                     Liked it so much I bought it Hakkonflip

I had high hopes for this app but it s just ruining the VLC name in my opinion Always was wonky with its best feature streaming media from Box and Google Drive but lately I can t log into the latter at all Complicated to do anything else with it and frankly a pain in the a Mkv subtitles never worked either Just a nuisance at this point I ll stick to emailing my personal videos to share them or watching on my PS3 Not worth the hassle     Never Worked Too Well Natalina1984

The way it works is you download a program on your desktop drag and drop the movies you want to stream to your IPhone it converts the movies very quickly in iPhone compatible format Then you use your app to choose the movies you want to stream No bugs no issues fast setup very reliable Free version shows a ad at the bottom of your movie I think the 2 to remove them on the full version is worth it                     Solid app Aweyeaa

This program simply converts your video file into several hundred TS files then copies it over your wifi in small chunks The conversion process takes a long time and doubles the amount of file space your video takes up If that s what it s going to do I d rather use handbrake to convert more efficiently If I m converting anyways then I didn t really need VLCstreamer in the first place     Convert and copy not really streaming Raykwonx

Version 4 12 worked the best V4 20 had issues but was bearable on my ipad 4th gen on iOS 6 1 2 where it would lose my place in a movie unless I gracefully shut down the app every time And the latest 4 25 version has fully stopped working Reinstalling and restarting my ipad makes no difference as the app tries to start then instantly crashes every time I wish I backed up my ipad locally so I could roll back to an old version hope the developer can fix this     Stopped working TwigglesW

VLC used to to work pretty good with raw transport stream HD video The latest version displays the following message and only plays the video Codec not supported VLC could not decide the format a52 A52 Audio aka AC3 Please fix This used to work     Dropped AC3 audio support Frustrated and moving on

I downloaded and tried this app Downloaded the pc helper portion The idea is great but the execution is flimsy You must have wifi for this app to work I dont know how close you have to be to your computer Its easy to use You simply find a movie on your computer or harddrive and play it I have a decent computer and buffering one movie takes a good majority of your cpu power The quality of the movies are okay at best thats where the negativity comes from Unless you want to spend and entire day converting or uploading your entire movie collection to the computer app helper then youre going to just find a movie and click play and itll buffer as you go The problem is the movie video quality CONSTANTLY glitches out as it buffers The movie itself doesnt stop or pause with mine at least the video just frequently will pause to lag behind while the sound plays smoothly Also on the free version a bunch of your screen is cut off and filled with advertisement This app is cool but could be a hell of alot better         Real review MasonNasty

Works good enough quality is very pleasing wile streaming to the iPad via wifi the only thing you ve got to have a very powerful computer an I7 processor recommended because your computer has to convert al your streaming files in real time wish there was a easier way something like team viewer but still this up will give you a better overall experience You got to have an internet speed of 18 Mbps or better in order to have HD quality rendering                     Works great A David Daniel P

The soul function of this app is to stream movie ti iOS devices via VLC However the creator has taken it upon themselves to actively deactivate a feature of iOS Airplay in order to get you to purchase an app that doesn t disable this feature I m not sure how this even made it onto the app store     Purposefully Deceitful joshxxaaron

It either doesn t have a sound after commercials came up at the beginning or it crushes in the middle of the show and results in the whole rebooting of my iPad I use the app in case of very important situations where I need my child to not bother me for the 10 min of her short show but of course that fails         Keeps crashing Prague's girl

I m trying to steam a 22 minute long 300MB MKV video from a site but it just crashes the app I ve been able to stream other videos but then it stopped working all of the sudden         App crashes when trying to stream combatfish

I understand the need to monetize via ads I really do I tried to watch one minute of a sample video uploaded on my Dropbox just to give a try living disgusted with an ad bar that takes 20 of my iPad Air 2 Then switching back to the videos list a fullscreen ad of 10 seconds popped out I m an user of VLC since 2001 and I know well its power I would prefer a demo version with cutted features limited time usage or whatever and I will probably consider buying the full version These ads everwhere pratices do not push me to try then buy the full version it just pushed me in hurry to remove it from my device I really can t stand invasive ads This is a turndown Deleting and looking for other solutions     Invasive ads RawSketch

Latest update has a serious bug When a movie opens an ad for iAd starts plays for 30s 2m while message displays saying it s taking unusually long the movie then starts but after 30s 2m the ad etc starts again and keeps doing this all the way through Thank goodness I didn t buy it Used to be really good     Serious bug Mike_MSA
