US Historical Documents & Speeches

I actually bought this for my nook and thought it was important to have it on my iPad as well A great selection of important documents easy to navigate comfortable to read and I have had no problems opening it                 Every American with an iPad should own this

Just bought this to replace an older app that hadnt been updated since 2010 and kept crashing On my iPhone 6 Plus running OS 8 this app wont even open Dont waste your money at least until they update it Sadly I cant give it ZERO stars which is what it deserves at this point     Worthless wont open at all

The last number of docs is really amazing especially at the low cost other apps charge 199 just for a couple documents I like the historical indexing that others have complained about by century it makes following along with the development of the country easier though providing an alternate indexing by document title would also be helpful My primary purpose of purchasing this app is because of the developers boasting of the search function With a document like the Constitution the ability to search for a particular wordtopic is essential not sure why no one else offers it However with great power comes great responsibility and here is where the app falls short When you do a search there is no limiting feature to keep the search within the document you are currently viewing the century that is open in the righthand pane or to enable a search of the entire document Additionally when the results are returned which is amazingly fast there is no reference as to which document the results are from If you click on one of the results you are placed into the document right where the text exists but the title bar just shows the century the document is in not the name of the document itself Very poor Picture searching the Bible for the name Jacob clicking on a result and not knowing which book you are in just if it is from the Old or New Testament Finally an annoying feature is the tools This is something which is not limited to this app but is far too common among iPad apps orientation 90 of my time is spend in landscape mode because my iPad sits on my desk held slightly raised by the Smart Cover Select the tool gear and you either have to pick up the iPad to get it into portrait mode or turn your head and read sideways If I am in landscape mode and I click on the gear the window should return in landscape mode not force me to contort to work with it This is as the title states my initial impression of the app Overall a good app with some bugs minor and major but not critical It does not crash and other than the boring BW text interface is a pretty decent app Fix the bugs mentioned above and my ratings will adjust accordingly A more indepth analysis will be forthcoming as I gain more experience           Initial opinion

So this looks great except it is almost the end of 2012 and the last document recorded is 2010 Really So nothing President Obama has said is worth referencing Or maybe the managers of the app arent capable of updating their product Either way it makes me wish I had saved my two dollars and just searched for the documents on line           Wheres Obama
