Probably the best war game on iPad Even better than most war games on PC for the past several years This is a generally simplified war game to teach the principles of combat and for learning about Gettysburg and is not a rivetcounting war game                 Incredible

If youre a reenactor or history buff I have one question for you Why havent you downloaded this game yet Game play is awesome The only thing I would change is the intro music Seems more in line with a ww2 game Should have used a civil war drum tune Or period music Other that that its an awesome game                 The best game out there

The game is fantastic and is just what Im looking for The only problem is how hard it is on the union campaign I cant beat the cavalry mission and I want to play more levels Maybe another difficulty level                 Good but

I really do but its so freaking hard Even on easy its hard And its so slow so if you mess up its going to take another 15 minutes to get to where you just were Thats nonsensical Why not have a speed option Why not have auto saves or manual saves so you could try out different scenarios from a point youve reached Please consider these points and make my men less cowardly for crying out loud           I want to love it

Dear Uncle We have had an awful fight here but thank the Lord our Army has given the Rebels an everlasting thrashing The heaviest fighting was yesterday and today they are in full retreat and our Army entire is after them This is the first time since the organization of the Army of the Potomac that the rebels have met our men in open field                 July 5th 1863

As a CW reenactor I found this to be a really exciting game despite a few quirks Gameplay reminds me of actual CW infantry maneuvers Ive participated in and readily recollect as I play the game I would recommend this game especially for those interested in CW battlefield tactics Please keep up the good work and bring more battles and scenarios including the Western Theater as you can in your expansion efforts PS Ive enjoyed this game so much that I have now written my first app review since I got my iPad over 15 months ago                 Lots of Fun

I truly love this game its every thing I could have wanted But I hope they add more battles like Vicksburg or the peninsula campaign etc                 Love this game But

I love the style of gameplay as it is very fluid and you feel in the action There isnt the ability for a different campaign like the computer version but the 20 battles are sufficient enough I always play hard and lose about half the time Dont necessarily listen to the Confederate Beginner Union Advanced as I did it in that order and felt disappointed when the Union was easier more defensive play style I bought it for 8 bucks so at 4 its a bargain I hope multiplayer comes out soon but apart from that it truly is a revolution in rts gaming years ahead from the turn based style                 Brilliant

This is a fantastic game Really addictive and challenging My only negative is that it is a little unwieldy to rotate your units facing and the tutorial should give more info on how artillery works                 Love it

I have to say this is one of the best civil war real time strategy games I have ever played Hats off to the designers                 Best game ever made

The game is fun presenting a relatively realistic view of Civil War battle complete with excellent terrain characters and graphics overall However three controls need work 1 Facing the long press and turn often turns troops around with the back to the enemy 2 to shift the line sideways troops must wheel which is neither how it was done at the time nor a good thing in the simulation 3 it is difficult to know what ammo canister or cannon ball the cannons are firing I suppose it is automatic but even just displaying a ball or canister icon to indicate the ammo would be reassuring              Worth it even if needs a bit more polish

This is a great game Its a lite version of the pc game I wish they would port over the entire game Some of tactical elements are left out so you have a far more binary game Also I think they need to add an animation for digging in              Wish they would port

Really REALLY If it was true that Apple removed Ultimate General from the app store because it used the Confederate States flag is true how utterly ridiculous The Confederate States of America was real It really existed It IS part of this countries history Period I see Ultimate General is still or is back on the app store I was born in Michigan so I am a Yank through and through but I understand the desire nay necessity of retaining historical facts no matter how unpleasant How else can we ever prevent undesirable history from repeating itself So called Political Correctness has become a carcinoma Apple wants to do somethingfix their crippled iOS the multitasking wanttobe operating system Ive worked my way up to Quartermaster playing only the Federals side so far Ultimate General is giving Pike and Shot a run for its money It being turn based is such a different mind set compared to Ultimate Generals real time action The only thing I can think of is that it would be nice to be able to pull up a list of all my units and be able to select from the list and have the game screen go to that unit on the battlefield I spend a lot of time looking on the larger scenarios Now if we could have The Battle of MontSaint Jean Waterloo Id be in Grognards heaven                 Its like playing the 1993 movie Gettysburg Wow

Great game I bought because of all the news with Apple but I am enjoying it I like the fact that you can play at different levels of difficulty so I can replay the same scenarios as I increase my skill in playing the game One suggestion would be to add a historical scenario where you dont play you just watch what actually happened a 150 years ago                 Great game
