Whatever the quality of TomToms products their customer service attitude is by far the worst I have experienced in the consumer electronics business They engaged me in a bait and switch con and stonewalled me through weeks of emails and calls It started when I received a promotional email from TomTom offering 10 off their iPhone GPS app Clicking through from that promotion I bought via iTunes the TomTom app for New Zealand where I was headed But iTunes did not show a 10 discount I decided to complete the purchase and then contact TomTom to make good on the discount It was downhill from there TomToms first response was to require a screenshot of the email promotion I received though it was their own promotion and a copy of my iTunes receipt Their response was that this was a two week promotion though it did not say so anywhere I pointed out that in any event I made the purchase 12 days after I received it They responded that they are only programmers and have no control over Apples pricing so I should complain to Apple Baloney I wrote back The app developer sets the price and the promotion email came from TomTom Their comeback was they would send my feedback and comments to our business development team which will ensure to prevent the similar technical issues you had experienced I said this was a marketing issue not technical Now they told me I should call a customer support number for a resolution The agent I spoke with seemed sympathetic and asked me to hold while he set up my refund But after 15 minutes he said that the higher ups at HQ refused to budge No further explanation This experience is 180 degrees from the experience I had with Garmin on one of their products The bottom line is that TomTom is not very consumer friendlyindeed downright arrogant Though its products may be competent I would certainly use one of their several competitors for any future GPS needs     TomToms Hostile Consumer Attitude a Big Negative

Used for two weeks and could not have driven without it A few glitches and took the long way but definitely worth the 70 bucks Watch out for lost signal in the mountains the program gets confused but eventually gets back on track              Mr G

11 still not solve some voice navigation problem sometimes the voice always tell me keep right but it is fault we must be keep left otherwise I will go to the wrong way please check it              About voice navigation

As the other reviewer mentioned you generally need to input addresses for locations You can also use the point on map function if you generally know where you want to go on the map but dont have an address That being said the gps is very accuratewe did a week on the north island and a week on the south island and never had any issues with wrong directions even when we were in the middle of nowhere The app didnt work for me when I was totally offline airplane mode so I had to leave on my cell service for it to work Just turn off your data roaming and you wont get charged You might get charged for texts and calls though depending on your cell plan           It works but its not google maps

Ultimately it got us where we were goingwhich is good But its kind of buggy and not very intuitive Having addresses is important because the search function is pretty bad Also the volume for the voice is hard to find           OK but needs work

no more usable than google maps which is free     x

This app is mostly great and I use it all the time finding client sites in Auckland POI search works well and the routes have always been reasonable But theres one bug thats a huge problem for me The app ignores the state of the mute switch on iPhone 4 and loudly blares directions even when I have the switch set to mute Much better would be an alert that warns the user that the volume is muted so directions wont be audible which is what I wanted in the first place           Mostly great
