The iOS version of the world-renowned TENORI-ON brings you a completely new musical interface. Even if you don`t know much about music, you can create music intuitively as if you were arranging sounds in space. ...
Long live tenori on                     Oldie but goodie Alan Parsons.
updated 3 28 17 I still love tnr i and I still get frustrated with tnr i this app could be so close to studio grade if it offered one minor thing ableton link I have purchased and later sold a hardware tenori because i wanted the sync and midi functionality this app struggles with only to find that the hardware is equally frustrating Sync on the hardware tenori means almost a sixteenth note behind the beat What could solve this problem forever Ableton link Come on Yamaha Save this app from the deleted app piles of yesteryear s abandonware Ableton link now Ableton link forever Love Your biggest fan Love This app is inspiring Getting off of a piano style keyboard has helped my song writing immensely at times Negative swing algorithm Such a good shuffle Almost as human as an African drum circle Limitation is the mother of all invention Hate The poor excuse for a file structure This is an app that gives you a handful of options for saving small elements of songs save block save all settings but no commands resembling create new song initialize or save updated version of previously saved song I just lost two hours of work Maybe I m missing something but I ve been making music on computers for 15 years Things shouldn t be this opaque I understand the philosophy of the original Tenori On and the desire to carry that over onto the iOS version but why make things so difficult for us Overall it s like using a charming piece of vintage equipment made overseas and guided by some sort of foreign design approach Ergo the inspiration and the frustration go hand in hand But hey maybe this acts to keep hordes of sound alikes from releasing songs written on this fun piece of kit             Love and hate lovetongueattack
the Tnr app wont Bluetooth audio to non iPad Bluetooth enabled objects example a Jbl enabled Flip no idea why         no Bluetooth what.about.this.
Instead of updating they forked it Not cool On top of that it really needs the ability to tie notes together to compete with Beatwave a free app They shoul ve made TNR e an IAP And do the menu buttons really need to be that small I also think a full screen 8 by 12 view for the grid on iPhone would be more functional than the current zoom view or an 8 by 8 default grid in the current layout where the nodes are more usable and visible Maybe 4 buttons where one could toggle between the 4 zoomed 8 by 8 sections of the grid Well executed something like that might bring it up to the level of iKaossilstor         Cheated out of Tenor e Update S. L. Biggs
Please add a setting that automatically resets the playback position to the top of the loop upon stop playback At least in midi slave mode Without it the tenori app simply starts playback from whatever random step it was sitting on when it stopped That means it falls out of sync every single time the master device stops and starts unless you manually move the loop point or use the menu to hit loop point reset hundreds of times in a session This is the only sequencer that I have ever encountered that lacks the capability to always start playback on beat one This would be a 5 star app and midi sequencer if that sync flaw was fixed As is it is too much of a hassle to use as more than a stand alone toy     Please Fix Playback X Arch Frenemy X
I was hesitant to purchase this but after reading VJ Franz K s review who has an enjoyable YouTube page by the way I decided to give it a shot Sure enough MIDI works just fine You don t have much control over MIDI channels but that s okay Part 1 sends to MIDI CH 1 Part 2 sends to MIDI CH 2 etc Works great Definitely enjoying this                     MIDI works not sure why people are complaining Acemon
This is so awesome but not Heres when something appears to be really cool until that hideous interface becomes the huge buzz kill it is like lots of Yamaha stuff has been lately kinda like what the peace christo             Time for a re design Aka monkey dope
Re other review The midi out feature does work I use it all the time This is a great music app designed after the amazing Tenori On hardware It sounds near exactly alike More people should use the NetJam feature it s very interesting Can we have cross import between TNR I files and TNR i files Also tap tempo would be really good                     If you want to play Tenori On on iPad this is the way VJ Franz K
Such potential wasted When will they add MIDI out to the US version     Still no midi jc_vt
Yamaha has apparently decided to turn to selling eyeballs I m glad their update notes mentioned their privacy policy because it wouldn t have dawned on me that an otherwise reputable company in this day and age would have language like that in their privacy policy Basically there isn t a privacy policy Their language basically admits that they plan on selling as much of your personal information as they can get their greedy mitts on to any marketeers they like and if you don t like it you can always click the unsubscribe link in the spam you ll be getting Other than that it s a fun app P             Because selling musical software isn t enough Blvvthe
My third review of this app TNR i US has NOT supported MIDI since v 1 4 4 I am at a loss as to how MIDI bugs can be fixed when MIDI is not supported I ve gone in circles with Yamaha customer support and can t get a straight answer out of anyone It s like going through six English to Japanese and back Google translations Someone is asleep at the wheel but it is impossible to tell which hemisphere they are in     MIDI bug fixed MIDI What MIDI Timex
Pretty weak of people to post poor reviews due to the new app The point is you can use these two apps together A blast to play and quite the bargain considering the original s cost Currently on sale for half off so I got both for the price of one                 Two TNR are better than one more or less
I have to agree with others that not having the content available from the tenori e is an unwise move You must have known there would be backlash do to this but you went ahead and did it anyway The only way I will give the tenor i 5 stars is if you make the tenori e content available I m mean really why didn t you just add it as an upgrade in one whole product Just smile and it will be all better right wink wink     Not Cool Yamaha Modular Mike

Update users don t abandon them Offering a new version as a separate app is one of those tactics I really hate I don t have time to keep up with this developers mess as they try to eek out the money they feel they are deserved by their old school gouge the hell out of the nich market thinking Figure it out If they wanted 40 then ASK for 40 and have one upgrade path Sure charge us for add on content most everyone is fine with that Here is what s NOT fine Planed obsolescence I think I will pass spending another 20 and focus on one of the many other apps I already own that offer similar functionality         Not cool Murdock Scott
They now have tenor e on for additional 20 buck with new content samples and fx Why not just sell the packs in one app and upgrade this one for those who want the content Greedy move Yamaha Until something gets done which probably won t one star though I love the app     Weak Sausage DJSUN1
Yamaha ripped off TNR 1 users by creating TNR e and selling it for the same price It should have been a IAP added to TNR 1 Terrible idea I will never purchase another product from them     Rip off Mgmg4871
Please add virtual midi and also make your updates available to those on ios 6 0                     Please add MIDI Krusecom
See topic one star If these issues are addressed 5 stars Get to work Yamaha     No MIDI or AudioBus support TranquilVision
Literally no way to network midi It s useless without it Huge disappointment If Yamaha actually cares they ll fix it and not be snobby robbers and run away with our cash I feel a lot of formal complaints coming their direction             Eh midi Seriously Sailorjtaylor
This is truly my favorite app of all my music creation apps and you will always get 5 stars from me but I have to say that when I saw this in my updates my heart skipped a beat in thinking that maybe it was for adding AudioBus support so I m disappointed but still hoping                     AudioBus bittlebox
Truly marvelous sonic capability wrapped in an elegant interface Please add Audiobus support to help integrate this with a professional workflow                     A wonderful app Baron VonDestroy
Ever since the Tenori On came out I ve wanted one The instrument is a piece of art that you use to create art It s ingeniously designed and especially for people who are visually and musically intuitive its interface is really neat Layers blocks voices etc can be changed using button shortcuts that combine the Left and Right buttons with rows columns and points on the grid And until you figure out the shortcut buttons there s a great menu system Especially since adding MIDI abilities this is a powerful instrument for creating music It s also very intuitive and fun I hear it s beautiful on iPad Personally I only have an iPhone and I m shocked at how well it works Don t expect to get the right note the first time every time on the small screen But it does work And I love having such a fun and powerful music creation program in my pocket Six stars out of five Thank you Yamaha for making the Tenori On experience available to so many folks with this app BTW there have been some complaints about glitches and stability in the past As of Feb 2013 it seems solid                     Brilliant Instrument and Toy PhotoFanatic
Just makes me want a real one So easy to use and the sounds are very high quality Love just relaxing by creating a groove and soloing over it with different affects Can t recommend highly enough Well worth the price                     Fantastic webmn2k
I am strictly using the app as a scratch pad to write grooves on the spot I just love the magic you can create and the beautiful melodies I can come of with right on my ipad Loving it and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to do electronic music                     DJ June Lopez June Lopez
Needs background audio and core midi out             Nearly awsome Planned obsolescence
I ve had my eye on this app for quite a while and glad I finally bought it It is fantastic at what it does a matrix music creation tool Owning many music apps I most appreciate ones like this that do one thing and do it excellently I have only used it for a few days but I see many months of music making ahead Thank you                     One of the best Kmontzka
Please add airplay feature for airplay speaker                 Please add airplay feature for airplay speaker drbyoo
It is wonderful that Yamaha fixed bugs with last update but this app still have two big lack in functionality 1 Custom layers bounce layers are useless for me and only two draw layers are deficience for improvisation 2 Core Midi support Built is sounds are nice but it would be even better to use this app along with other Core Midi powered apps I am looking forward to adding of these functions Especially first                     Awesome music creation app Damien Woods
Yamaha has addressed the issues with the v1 4 update and all seems to be working well again If I were only comparing it to the hardware Tenori On I would rate it 5 stars It does just about everything the hardware version does but it also doesn t do any of the things the hardware unit doesn t do and there s some room for improvement Musically I find Tenori Ons to be rather restrictive but if you can learn to work within this framework there s some good music to be made music which you might not have composed otherwise                 Thanks for the fix Yamaha WVWRX
This is nowhere close to a working musical instrument app Practically unusable Did the developers even test it out before shipping this version     Clicks and snaps Matchpointn
Key word is was After the latest update horrible clicking distortion sound when you are only a few levels deep in a song Horrible It really just sets me back a step because I was preparing to use this for live performance and now it s unusable I hope they fix it soon I shouldn t be the one to have to uninstall and reboot and jump through hoops just to get the app that I paid 20 for to work like it once did please fix yamaha It will be a 5 star app if it worked         Was the go to music app for me Jonnybraz
First anyone who is experiencing crashing and weird behavior from the update try deleting it and reinstalling then reboot your device before launching the app then launch the app first thing once you ve started up again I hope this helps As for the app I was excited to see some sharing options via a server in the latest update like the Korg iMS 20 app has But I was bummed out when I saw that I can only access it if I have a tw tter account whereas on the Korg app this is not necessary Also is it just me or is the settings section sort of a disaster It pops up with like 10 different vague headings and it s really difficult to make sense of it all Is the original hardware version s settings control this unintuitive Sounds are cool unique sequencing tools are rad and it has audio recording and copy paste as well as WIST sync so there s a lot if cool stuff going on here and the app is really deep as far as the level of control offered I love what Yamaha has made for years and it s great to see them working with iOS software but while TNR looks very nice it really just needs more work to be a little more immediate and usable like many of the other major manufacturer apps I hope you continue updating it guys                 NICE APP WITH SOME SHORTCOMINGS huntington the third
I purchased this ap only a couple of day ago and totally LOVE IT Then today I made the mistake of upgrading to the new version assuming it would still work It doesn t Notes hang major distortion in the Bounce mode with anything over 2 voices playing Sometimes it does not boot up Other times it seems to not respond to commands Its like Yamaha failed to test the release version I really like the AP when it works I hope that Yamaha will catch on to the problems they just created for us Wish I could go BACK to the previous version     Version 1 4 0 is BAD BozoToo
I bought an ipad because of the tenorion This is truly one of the more unique music apps in the world designed by the maestro himself toshio iwai Get it                     The best music app in the world Yeahpopo
update on how crappy your app is Let me get this straight i purchased this on 4 3 5 snd then you made it 5 0 Only Idiotic and trendy move on your part In case all you moronic app makers and apple hevent heard ios 5 ruins baytery life on most peoples i devices because cause of spples bad design You really think im going to risk ruining my ipod eith that crap update Dont think so luckily i had the prevoius version backed up but i bet a lot of people who paid for your over priced NOT fully function app didnt snd are mad LAME FIX THESE PROBLEMS NOW Ive been wating since this overrated app came out and you havent done anything yet What a joke it only works to about a fifth of its supposed capacity as it just stops responding when only a few blocks ate compossed WEAK another updated review BOO TO THE MAKERS they never responded to me or update the problems with this app They dont tell you that it doesnt work to full capacity like it does on ipad LAME Be Forwarned iPod users When you go to random mode you can only play them on about two or three blocks at once then the randon mode completely stops responding Period Dont believe the hype on this version of this app it does NOT work as it should like the ipad version It should only cost 10 with this version I personally like the sounds i get on Aurora Sound Studio Way Better And it works as it should Im lowering my rating untill The makers of this app fix it to work as it should and quit being deceptive BOO for taking peoples money while misleading and for not responding to customers at all Completly LAME on your part Review Update This app needs a serious update for the sound library The preset sounds on it are not that great at all Horrible Drums And Bass And i noticed that this app does not run to full capacity on my ipod it just stops working on some layers when it has too much going on i guess I tried contacting the makers but Tech support never responded Because of these issues Im lowering my rating by a star Prevous Review i just gotta figure out how to save blocks and layers and be able to switch back and forth but other than that I really like this puppie so far real cool Niceness and its running pretty good on my ipod 4g with latest firmware since i cant afford an ipod at at the moment But When im in the random modes on one or two of them will activate the lights i push and play back continuously out of the four or is it 5 random layers Can someone tell me why this is Is it because im on an ipod 4g This is the only problem im having really and iys a little annoying im going to lower 1 star on my rating untill i figure this out Thank you update since this review a couple weeks ago I tried to contact Yamaha customer support twice to ask them about these issues and never once got a response from theyre tech support people LAME although a lady from general customer service was nice enough to respond but thats pathetic of the tech support people at yamaha And of course the almighy itunes had no response what so ever as usual lowering my rating again becsuse of this hopefully theyll be an updaye soon to resolve some these issues then ill raise my rating     DOESNT WORK AS ITS SUPPOSED TOO no response from makers orange better than apple
I am a huge fan of the previous version and have made many tracks I was so excited about this update Just updated and the app completely crashes To the developer here are my steps to make it crash I am using an iPhone 4 running 5 0 1 1 open the app 2 observe the tenori on splash screen 3 app crashes PLEASE fix this I use this app all the time and I am hugely disappointed     Update crashes Driveithfm
This thing is great does exactly what it s supposed to do and has a ton of options like allowing multiple time signatures to play simultaneously or switching to different scales like dorian locrian etc The other free versions out there are great too but the extra cash this one costs goes straight into finely tuned manipulation abilities So happy this is out there and I don t have to buy the 1000 hardware version Only two major drawbacks are that there s no delay effect only reverb and chorus and that the tones are a little on the lame side                     Too much fun woodondrums
This is a fun app I ve been wanting to try a real tonori on for a long time and this makes it possible It s deep and does a lot but def overpriced for what you get and compared to other music apps                 Good but way overpriced Jovialcity
Still no MIDI Support way over priced It s just OK             No MIDI Support M3EM3
it s just fantastic tones are wonderful                     no need a word ilsangyoon
Still no MIDI support Still no exporting blocks or songs as audio Still no User Sample support Other than that it is great Unfortunately those three issues would make this app an insane value             Amazing but still needs work Quantum Traveler
App is fun and creative Please import samples Please export songs patterns as AAC MIdi would be a plus                 Fun Pl add Import Export Tap Tempo Waste my time
As is said above user voices and all types of blocks for each block please But however much it can now be updated all the top tier mobile DAW apps and the best 20th century song making UIs of whatever platform now know what 21st century song making looks like                     Like he said This is it pretty much littlewoodg
Great at ambient Anybody who uses their iPad for making music needs this app The bar has been set Sounds great Easy to use The manual is easy to follow Highly recommended This is the real thing in sequencing Fun                     Simply amazing analoghaze
I spent time trying to find out what I could about this app before purchasing as there is no Lite version for demo Compared to other apps at lower prices the tnr i seems to fall a bit short in some ways lack of MIDI integration inability to export actual audio copy paste However as others have said the app is certainly one you can play with for quite some time If you need a meditative tool this would go great with SynthPond As an instrument in its own right it is an amazing piece of work You have lots of room to create compositions that can be played back You can also record a song make changes etc and save the recording While this is a nice feature Yamaha could do one better by allowing controlled playback of those performances even more helpful would be any way to sync this app again we need MIDI integration here From a support standpoint it is disappointing to see that Yamaha doesn t have appeared to have released any video of their own in English or even translate Iwai s video to English In fact you can t find anything about this app on their US website as of today almost two weeks swince US release If you are serious about your iDevice music production this could be a powerful tool Especially if you write on the ipad and transfer the files to play on an iphone thus freeing up the iPad for other creations I d actually rate the app 3 5 until Yamaha adds MIDI functionailty and some way to export audio Otherwise a solid entry that deserves real consideration when looking for purely compositional inspiration                 So much to offer yet much is needed shimoda
Let s talk about how difficult this is One word explains it all Difficult It is very hard to understand and find things in the menu and finding the documentation is a matter of stumbling upon it accidentally And there seem to be this trend going around with some developers that release very expensive apps like these The tend is the more expensive the app is the less option you have to export your finished work or no option at all 1 Music Studio 15 00 Wi Fi iTunes 2 NanoStudio 15 00 SoundCloud NanoSync for PC 3 BeatMaker 2 20 00 SoundCloud Wi Fi Doesn t work 4 FL Studio 15 00 iTunes FL Studio Desktop 5 TNR i US 20 00 Nothing You can only play Non of these gives you the option to email you files I have all 5 of these and I am only able to get my work off FL Studio and Music Studio I regret buying these You are most likely to get the option to email your final work from a less expensive app that gets the work done For example 1 SoundGrid Live 3 00 Email and more options 2 FunkBox Drum Machine 3 00 Email and more options 3 FingerBeat 5 00 Email and more options I have 3 of these and I love them No regrets Don t get this It s a waste of money I am already not using it because I have no way of exporting my songs         Very Very Difficult No Export Appitap
But I get a notification every time I start it saying it is no recognized by Game Center Would love a darker background                 Great repro lttlrck
An outstanding musical instrument and an awful lot of fun but the demo isn t helpful and the documentation is buried in a hard to find place Not everyone is familiar with the actual instrument so Yamaha really needs to make this easier to understand and work with Would be great if I could export in a format GarageBand can use                 Better Documentation and ways to export please DenSpin

This is truly my favorite app of all my music creation apps and you will always get 5 stars from me but I have to say that when I saw this in my updates my heart skipped a beat in thinking that maybe it was for adding AudioBus support so Im disappointed but still hoping                 AudioBus
My third review of this app TNRiUS has NOT supported MIDI since v 144 I am at a loss as to how MIDI bugs can be fixed when MIDI is not supported Ive gone in circles with Yamaha customer support and cant get a straight answer out of anyone Its like going through six English to Japanese and back Google translations Someone is asleep at the wheel but it is impossible to tell which hemisphere they are in     MIDI bug fixed MIDI What MIDI
An outstanding musical instrument and an awful lot of fun but the demo isnt helpful and the documentation is buried in a hard to find place Not everyone is familiar with the actual instrument so Yamaha really needs to make this easier to understand and work with Would be great if I could export in a format GarageBand can use              Better Documentation and ways to export please
Ive had my eye on this app for quite a while and glad I finally bought it It is fantastic at what it does a matrix music creation tool Owning many music apps I most appreciate ones like this that do one thing and do it excellently I have only used it for a few days but I see many months of musicmaking ahead Thank you                 One of the best
Lets talk about how difficult this is One word explains it all Difficult It is very hard to understand and find things in the menu and finding the documentation is a matter of stumbling upon it accidentally And there seem to be this trend going around with some developers that release very expensive apps like these The tend is the more expensive the app is the less option you have to export your finished work or no option at all 1 Music Studio 1500 WiFi iTunes 2 NanoStudio 1500 SoundCloud NanoSync for PC 3 BeatMaker 2 2000 SoundCloud WiFi Doesnt work 4 FL Studio 1500 iTunes FL Studio Desktop 5 TNRi US 2000 Nothing You can only play Non of these gives you the option to email you files I have all 5 of these and I am only able to get my work off FL Studio and Music Studio I regret buying these You are most likely to get the option to email your final work from a less expensive app that gets the work done For example 1 SoundGrid Live 300 Email and more options 2 FunkBox Drum Machine 300 Email and more options 3 FingerBeat 500 Email and more options I have 3 of these and I love them No regrets Dont get this Its a waste of money I am already not using it because I have no way of exporting my songs        Very Very Difficult No Export
I spent time trying to find out what I could about this app before purchasing as there is no Lite version for demo Compared to other apps at lower prices the tnri seems to fall a bit short in some ways lack of MIDI integration inability to export actual audiocopypaste However as others have said the app is certainly one you can play with for quite some time If you need a meditative tool this would go great with SynthPond As an instrument in its own right it is an amazing piece of work You have lots of room to create compositions that can be played back You can also record a song make changes etc and save the recording While this is a nice feature Yamaha could do one better by allowing controlled playback of those performances even more helpful would be any way to sync this app again we need MIDI integration here From a support standpoint it is disappointing to see that Yamaha doesnt have appeared to have released any video of their own in English or even translate Iwais video to English In fact you cant find anything about this app on their US website as of today almost two weeks swince US release If you are serious about your iDevice music production this could be a powerful tool Especially if you write on the ipad and transfer the files to play on an iphone thus freeing up the iPad for other creations Id actually rate the app 35 until Yamaha adds MIDI functionailty and some way to export audio Otherwise a solid entry that deserves real consideration when looking for purely compositional inspiration              So much to offer yet much is needed
Yamaha has apparently decided to turn to selling eyeballs Im glad their update notes mentioned their privacy policy because it wouldnt have dawned on me that an otherwise reputable company in this day and age would have language like that in their privacy policy Basically there isnt a privacy policy Their language basically admits that they plan on selling as much of your personal information as they can get their greedy mitts on to any marketeers they like and if you dont like it you can always click the unsubscribe link in the spam youll be getting Other than that its a fun app P           Because selling musical software isnt enough
As is said above user voices and all types of blocks for each block please But however much it can now be updated all the top tier mobile DAW apps and the best 20th century song making UIs of whatever platform now know what 21st century song making looks like                 Like he said This is it pretty much
This is a fun app Ive been wanting to try a real tonorion for a long time and this makes it possible Its deep and does a lot but def overpriced for what you get and compared to other music apps              Good but way overpriced
App is fun and creative Please import samples Please export songs patterns as AAC MIdi would be a plus              Fun Pl add Import Export Tap Tempo
I bought an ipad because of the tenorion This is truly one of the more unique music apps in the world designed by the maestro himself toshio iwai Get it                 The best music app in the world
Just makes me want a real one So easy to use and the sounds are very high quality Love just relaxing by creating a groove and soloing over it with different affects Cant recommend highly enough Well worth the price                 Fantastic
테노리온을 값싸게 작동은 잘되구 그 다음은 How to use it Depend on you                 잘됩니다
Yamaha ripped off TNR1 users by creating TNRe and selling it for the same price It should have been a IAP added to TNR1 Terrible idea I will never purchase another product from them     Rip off
But I get a notification every time I start it saying it is no recognized by Game Center Would love a darker background              Great repro
This is so awesome but not Heres when something appears to be really cool until that hideous interface becomes the huge buzz kill it is like lots of Yamaha stuff has been lately kinda like what thepeace christo           Time for a re design
This is nowhere close to a working musical instrument app Practically unusable Did the developers even test it out before shipping this version     Clicks and snaps
Such potential wasted When will they add MIDI out to the US version     Still no midi
I just got the app last night is its pretty cool but I feel that for all of us trying to use this at a home studio its pretty nonsense that the grid wont rotate would make plugging in different devices a lot easier I hope u guys listen and update this feature soon it will be pretty helpful specially for those with an ipad2 and the smart cover              PLZ Make it ROTATE
I am a huge fan of the previous version and have made many tracks I was so excited about this update Just updated and the app completely crashes To the developer here are my steps to make it crash I am using an iPhone 4 running 501 1 open the app 2 observe the tenorion splash screen 3 app crashes PLEASE fix this I use this app all the time and I am hugely disappointed     Update crashes
This is the first app for iOS that Ive truly enjoyed making music with I am a pretty serious keyboard player and the virtual version of the tenorion has been a blast to play with despite the fact that I have access to many synthesizers Once you wrap your head around the concept its fairly easy to master Two big thumbs up                 Wonderful music making fun
First anyone who is experiencing crashing and weird behavior from the update try deleting it and reinstalling then reboot your device before launching the app then launch the app first thing once youve started up again I hope this helps As for the app I was excited to see some sharing options via a server in the latest update like the Korg iMS20 app has But I was bummed out when I saw that I can only access it if I have a twtter account whereas on the Korg app this is not necessary Also is it just me or is the settings section sort of a disaster It pops up with like 10 different vague headings and its really difficult to make sense of it all Is the original hardware versions settings control this unintuitive Sounds are cool unique sequencing tools are rad and it has audio recording and copypaste as well as WIST sync so theres a lot if cool stuff going on here and the app is really deep as far as the level of control offered I love what Yamaha has made for years and its great to see them working with iOS software but while TNR looks very nice it really just needs more work to be a little more immediate and usable like many of the other major manufacturer apps I hope you continue updating it guys              NICE APP WITH SOME SHORTCOMINGS
Update users dont abandon them Offering a new version as a separate app is one of those tactics I really hate I dont have time to keep up with this developers mess as they try to eek out the money they feel they are deserved by their old school gouge the hell out of the nich market thinking Figure it out If they wanted 40 then ASK for 40 and have one upgrade path Sure charge us for add on content most everyone is fine with that Here is whats NOT fine Planed obsolescence I think I will pass spending another 20 and focus on one of the many other apps I already own that offer similar functionality        Not cool
Key word is was After the latest updatehorrible clicking distortion sound when you are only a few levels deep in a song Horrible It really just sets me back a step because I was preparing to use this for live performance and nowits unusable I hope they fix it soon I shouldnt be the one to have to uninstall and reboot and jump through hoops just to get the app that I paid 20 for to work like it once didplease fix yamaha It will be a 5 star app if it worked        Was the go to music app for me
Re other review The midi out feature does work I use it all the time This is a great music app designed after the amazing Tenori On hardware It sounds near exactly alike More people should use the NetJam feature its very interesting Can we have cross import between TNR I files and TNRi files Also tap tempo would be really good                 If you want to play Tenori On on iPad this is the way
This thing is great does exactly what its supposed to do and has a ton of options like allowing multiple time signatures to play simultaneously or switching to different scales like dorian locrian etc The other free versions out there are great too but the extra cash this one costs goes straight into finelytuned manipulation abilities So happy this is out there and I dont have to buy the 1000 hardware version Only two major drawbacks are that theres no delay effect only reverb and chorus and that the tones are a little on the lame side                 Too much fun
They now have tenore on for additional 20 buck with new contentsamples and fx Why not just sell the packs in one app and upgrade this one for those who want the content Greedy move Yamaha Until something gets done which probably wont one star though I love the app     Weak Sausage
Wow how anybody can rate at less than 5 stars is a mystery For you folks too dumb to figure it out go back to playing with your burp fart piano app This is a GIFT people Yamaha must have figured they will make more money selling a billion of these on the app store than selling a limited quantity of the hardware units Perhaps this will convince people to buy hardware units I never thought I would get my hands on one of these babies of course I thought the same thing about the Fairlight and that app turned out to be a disaster Thank you Yamaha I have three requests 1 landscape mode so it will work with my io dock 2 midi clock sync 3 midi out                 Near perfect
Great at ambient Anybody who uses their iPad for making music needs this app The bar has been set Sounds great Easy to use The manual is easy to follow Highly recommended This is the real thing in sequencing Fun                 Simply amazing
Love This app is inspiring Getting off of a piano style keyboard has helped my song writing immensely at times Negative swing algorithm Such a good shuffle Almost as human as an African drum circle Limitation is the mother of all invention Hate The poor excuse for a file structure This is an app that gives you a handful of options for saving small elements of songs save block save all settings but no commands resembling create new song initialize or save updated version of previously saved song I just lost two hours of work Maybe Im missing something but Ive been making music on computers for 15 years Things shouldnt be this opaque I understand the philosophy of the original TenoriOn and the desire to carry that over onto the iOS version but why make things so difficult for us Overall its like using a charming piece of vintage equipment made overseas and guided by some sort of foreign design approach Ergo the inspiration and the frustration go hand in hand But hey maybe this acts to keep hordes of soundalikes from releasing songs written on this fun piece of kit           Love and hate
Still no MIDI support Still no exporting blocks or songs as audio Still no User Sample support Other than that it is great Unfortunately those three issues would make this app an insane value           Amazing but still needs work
Needs background audio and core midi out           Nearly awsome
This app is pretty good I have not played with the hardware version but have always wanted to try the real hardware Theres some great interface potential here but why not take advantage of the ipad rather then doing a copy Some of the button modes are confusing but I may just need more time with it Why no CoreMidi As much fun as it is its absolutely useless if you try to integrate this into a larger setup At least a tap tempo would be nice Still a recommended purchase despite some short comings              Good but needs some more
its just fantastic tones are wonderful                 no need a word
Ever since the TenoriOn came out Ive wanted one The instrument is a piece of art that you use to create art Its ingeniously designed and especially for people who are visually and musically intuitive its interface is really neat Layers blocks voices etc can be changed using button shortcuts that combine the Left and Right buttons with rows columns and points on the grid And until you figure out the shortcut buttons theres a great menu system Especially since adding MIDI abilities this is a powerful instrument for creating music Its also very intuitive and fun I hear its beautiful on iPad Personally I only have an iPhone and Im shocked at how well it works Dont expect to get the right note the first time every time on the small screen But it does work And I love having such a fun and powerful music creation program in my pocket Six stars out of five Thank you Yamaha for making the TenoriOn experience available to so many folks with this app BTW there have been some complaints about glitches and stability in the past As of Feb 2013 it seems solid                 Brilliant Instrument and Toy
It is wonderful that Yamaha fixed bugs with last update but this app still have two big lack in functionality 1 Custom layers bounce layers are useless for me and only two draw layers are deficience for improvisation 2 CoreMidi support Builtis sounds are nice but it would be even better to use this app along with other CoreMidipowered apps I am looking forward to adding of these functions Especially first                 Awesome music creation app
I am strictly using the app as a scratch pad to write grooves on the spot I just love the magic you can create and the beautiful melodies I can come of with right on my ipad Loving it and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to do electronic music                 DJ June Lopez
Please add airplay feature for airplay speaker              Please add airplay feature for airplay speaker
Please add virtual midi and also make your updates available to those on ios 60                 Please add MIDI
I was hesitant to purchase this but after reading VJ Franz Ks review who has an enjoyable YouTube page by the way I decided to give it a shot Sure enough MIDI works just fine You dont have much control over MIDI channels but thats okay Part 1 sends to MIDI CH 1 Part 2 sends to MIDI CH 2 etc Works great Definitely enjoying this                 MIDI works not sure why people are complaining
See topic one star If these issues are addressed 5 stars Get to work Yamaha     No MIDI or AudioBus support
