The new This Week`s Words app version 1.1 has been updated on 2014-11-20. I have a suggestion for this app Can you put in a way to indicate a wrong spelling that give immediate feedback to the child Having to wait until the end of a 20 word list can feel like an eternity before finding out a grade Maybe a practice test level My child played this game on the first level once and is not interested to continue with it because of lacking that feature Cute Penguin
I got this app so my kids can learn their spelling words and it does pretty well most of the time but the pronunciation needs some work Dog sounds like dawag think Boston accent corner sounds like honer and there are a few other words that are just off My 9 yr old son was brought to tears of frustration after trying to figure out what it was trying to say It also doesnt do very well with really short words sometimes All in all its an ok app but just ok Needs tweaking
Everything works great except for the speech It says the words completely wrong most of the time that my daughter comes to me asking what the word is I usually have to go back to her list and try to figure out which word it can be Im going get a refund for this app I would repurchase it that was fixed Works okay but has a big flaw

This app is great My fourth and sixth graders love it It sure saves me time too I highly recommend it for busy families My kids are so pleased when they pass the test at the end after learning their words we all love it
This app has a lot of potential Most of the spelling apps are pretty plain and this one is very appealing to kids Need to be able to capitalize proper nouns and put spaces in words Would also be nice to label lists with a title or date so various lists can be easily identified Would easily give 5 stars if these were updated Lots of potential
Good Buy at own risk
I bought this to make practicing the kids spelling words not such a chore and to make it more fun Problem is that the sound doesnt plays through the bottom speakers only through the top part of my iPhone 5 and newest os 613 You can barely hear anything even with sound in options turned all the way up PLEASE FIX Sound only comes out faintly at the phones earpiece Id rate this higher otherwise If the kids cant hear the words whats the point Sound problems PLEASE FIX Or Refund
No problem actually hearing the audio and the colors are bright and engaging for my first grader only complaint is he can not play this independently because the computer generated audio can be difficult to understand Some words are clearer when you switch between British and American English but some words remain difficult to understand my recommendation is to include a record button so I can record myself saying the word or enhance the computer generated speech When working with young kids who are just learning to spell the audio has to be crystal clear Good but not great
I have been using this app for the past 2 yrs with my now 3rd grader 1st grader They look forward to coming home from school and getting on the iPad so they can do their spelling vocabulary words The default voices are sometimes hard to understand but just recently the developer of this app added a feature so that I can record the words myself for my girls This made the app a 5 star for me Thank you for adding this feature This app is a must if you have small children it is easy for them to use My kids love it
This app is a great tool for learning weekly spelling words Makes learning fun Really helping my child with his words Just one thing should be able to edit the pronunciation of each wordfor example wind with a long i vowel sound is different than wind with a short i vowel sound I had to delete this word from his weekly list so as not to confuse him Would love to give this app a full five stars Looking forward to this in a future update A great education tool
Downloaded the app but cant hear a sound from itall the other sounds in my ipad are just fine So cant fit the purpose to what it was created test my childs spelling words for the week Good idea but cant hear anything
We absolutely love this app We use it almost every night during the week for school Anistasia even enjoys playing it Its quick and easy to put in new spelling lists and saves old lists Only complaint is that sometimes words sound a little off Every once in a while some words arent pronounced 100 correctly but its never off by enough that you cant understand what the word is Bottom line If you have a child and they do ANY spelling work at all buy this app Best educational app for kids
LOVE this app for spelling practice Repeats the words clearly and my child loves to practice his words for the week My ONE problem is that does not have an apostrophe in the keyboard Please correct this and it will be PERFECT Great practice
