Both iPad and iPhone running iOS 6 result in nothing but a blank dark screen after the loading page My other iPad on iOS 5 works great though        Choking on iOS 6
I love this app                 Perfect
Smart content no problem with performance on mini retina archives are easily searched I like it a lot                 Good site app worked fine
I got the app because the links on twitter werent viewable on the iPhone but this has the same problem The page wont fit on the screen and you can shrink it it just bounces back to big No one put any thought into adapting this for the phone     Doesnt work for iPhone
Loads for a few moments and then goes black It does this on my iPhone 4 with iOS 6 and my 3rd Gen iPad with iOS 6 Please fix     Doesnt work with iOS 6
Blank screen     Does not work
App launches displays words the PARIS REVIEW and thats it Just sits there and silently taunts me with that promising title     Does not work
an intuitive elegant platform crafted with care like the mag                 top drawer
The text is rendered like a PDFthe digital edition is simply a set of images of the print version So its uncomfortable to read on an iPad and impossible to read on an iPhone If you make a digital edition the article text MUST be reflowable Otherwise its just frustrating Given the cool digital stuff The Paris Review has done lately I expected them to understand this     Useless digital edition
Not optimized for voiceover So blind readers dont bother subscribing     no voiceover
This app is a mess Constantly LOADING and the Daily section is just a web view on their website Thus its not much use offline which makes it basically like the website only with much worse usability I love the Paris Review and I do hope they have a good native app some day This is not it     Not worthy of the Paris Review
Been waiting a long time for this app to come to fruition and am not blown away by it Its simply a link to their web page without any extra thought or innovation That said subscribers simply want a convenient method of reading the best literary journal ever published Even in this area unfortunately the app falls short The interface is simply put not user friendly My two primary gripes are that the pages of the magazine are not sized properly and turning pages is difficult Why would the developer not size the pages to fit the iPad screen It almost fits but there are a few lines on each page that must be scrolled to read Silly unpolished and not up to the standards of what The Paris Review should be Readers of TPR are lovers of letters obviously Why then did the publisher not incorporate the best features that Apple developed for the iPad like the realism of turning a page In its current state page turning is laborious Its difficult to grab and swipe and touching the arrow on the lower right of the screen is a game of skill as it moves continually on a disappearing menu bar I truly wanted to end my print subscription and convert entirely to the iPad as Ive done with the majority of my publications but cant until some further thought is put into this app Update May 10 2013 TPR should look to Poetry magazines new app in Newsstand Theyve done a tremendous job utilizing iOS capabilities instead of forcing a website into an app Poetry accomplished a fluid reading experience The Paris Review MUST invest in a real app developer or risk losing digital subscribers Update May 5 2015 Just downloaded the update and took another look at the app after not opening it for two years Pitiful you still dont get it     Meh
A fittingly classy app for a fittingly classy magazine                 Well done
I could do this all day                 Wow
This would have been nice if it was actually made for digital I am a big user of reading on my iPad magazines newspapers etc BUT THIS IS AWFUL The pages have not been formatted to fit on the screen The do not fit either direction How could this have been done No care taken at all Plus I was hoping for lots of the older past issues but they are not available Dont bother on this one Sad very sad     BEWARE
This is elegant robust and easy to use For Petes sake you can read the PR interviews on your phone whaddya want egg in your beer Go on                 Stop playing Flow just for a second
Do not upgrade to version 15 if you are on an iPad Classic or are running iOS 511 Version 15 is not compatible with iOS 5 in spite of what the app store page says Unless you buy a new iPad you will lose access to your subscription     DO NOT UPGRADE TO 15
Cant wait to read those vintage issues What a treat Also app looks very easy to navigate                 Yes
I am not sure how it came about that a publication on this level released an app that just shows you pages as if they were images doesnt even flow text like a normal ereader or reading app I bought an issue and trying to read it is like trying to read a regular PDF impossible on a phone in portrait mode almostkindasorta legible if you switch to landscape mode but only if you manually refix the zoom level by pinching out EVERY TIME YOU TURN THE PAGE I would strongly recommend against buying content on this app without trying a sample first to see if you can stand the limitations     Surprisingly unfortunate
on the bottom of the interviews search pages the tap for more tab is unnecessary and clumsy just make the page change automatic when you pull it down also it would be nice to have the art of fiction nonfiction theater etc listed sequentially instead of just by authors last name other than these two things the app is lovely thank you              suggestions
Just what the doctor ordered TPR all day All the time A beautiful app                 Killing It
The words are too tiny to read on my iPhone What a major disappointment Sure you can slide through the pages but nothng but graphics are easily seen Even to tilt my phone sideways would help Or enlarge the type as other iPhone apps do This app should be offered only for iPad     Why cant I enlarge the type or at least read my iPhone sideways
Beautiful elegant and easy to use And best of all the complete interview archive is free Theres even more free content if youre a print subscriber Thanks Paris Review                 A musthave app
Plain white screen login logout buttons not labeled Nothing else FYI using new iPad 3 and iOS 6     Not working
I downloaded the app and was working awesome but it suddenly became blank and the only two functionalities it now has are settings and sign out Big bug there Until its fixed Ill test it and change my grade     App is white screen
Living in Europe Ive been waiting for this Unlike some Im not bothered that the text doesnt flowin fact I find it refreshing to turn a page and this method fits the PR My only question with the app is whether or not the extras button top left margin in the interviews which I assume link to those famous manuscript pages will work in a future update Now you tap it and it changes color recognizing your tap but does nothing No matter the content here is king and it delivers Thanks PR                 Fantastic
Absolutely love the idea it means i can read good stuff during a boring sermon but the app doesnt work on my iPhone running iOS6 It opens to a black screen           Doesnt work in iOS6
Great way to carry around all the interviewscan knock em out in my downtime Oh yeah                 TPR always
Pffft     Blank black screen on opening app
This app is pretty weak in design The tab for the Daily just takes you to the Paris Reviews website How is that really helpful The current issue reader is a joke basically a PDF of the current issue not a readable font or format at all Generally all the fonts are way too small to read in this app as a matter of fact Its just uselessly poor design Sorry guysI look forward to an update     Weaksauce
This app is a thing of beauty from the design down to the content To everyone complaining about how the text doesnt flow GOOD We dont want flowing text We want text thats deliberately formatted How else would one render an Apollinaire calligram see issue 202 or anything else for that matter Great writing great presentation great app Thank you Paris Review                 BEAUtiful
The latest Paris Review is only a few taps awaywho could ask for more Not sure of the other complaints but the subscription works perfectly for me Im running the latest version of iOS                 Fantastic
As a paid subscriber my only option is to pay to view digital issues that I have already paid for The free articles vary Some appear others do not So sad     Doesnt Work
Great app and access to some of the best contemporary writers in the world The daily blog is also an excellent way to keep up to date with literature news and great writing that isnt in the official issue And you get the current issue                 Best literary magazine
The interviews are interesting Access to the daily blog is satisfactory However there is no place for print subscribers to access digital subscriber content If Im a print subscriber I should be able to input my info and access the magazine on the go on my phone Many other magazines like the newyorker and the economist provide this service Is it too difficult to give subscribers access to content that is already in the app        Print Subscribers Out of Luck
After installing all I get is a blank screen I notified support and they said they couldnt duplicate the issue     App doesnt work
I made a subscription through inapp purchase about two days ago The deal was confirmed money transferred and the bill received but I couldnt get access to the content and keep on getting response of transaction verification error Sent request for tech support twice but got no feedback I respect the magazine a lot but this service really disappointed me     Very disappointed about the app support
Mothers milk always in my jacket pocket                 Fantastic
Update Ive upgraded my review from two to three stars The app is not so bad holding the iPad in portrait mode Still could be significantly better and I hope in time the makers of this app will improve it Very pleased to see a Paris Review app however this one isnt terribly well executed Its not easy to navigate and worse the actual reading experience isnt very good The Paris Review needs to follow the example of the McSweeneys app which is very well done in both regards I sincerely hope with future updates this app will get better           Nice but
Great app with loads of cool free stuff                 tpr totally prettymuch rules
I mostly wanted this app for the archive of interviews which is generously plentiful I wish that because you have to download each one individually the app had a faster way of seeing what youve already downloaded or picking up where you left off reading Instead you have to remember and scroll and scroll Also the Daily tab could use with better formatting and a back button           Nice but could do with improvements
Happy that this app exists One of the great magazines of all time                 Great content
Whats better than getting the Paris Review in your mailbox Getting it on your iPad The compete archives are here as are the interviews which are often better than the stories the writers themselves have written Im ready for winter now                 The Write Stuff
