As much as I appreciate the quality of the editor itself this apps uberminimalistic interface design pushes much of its functionality into layer upon layer of confusing screens that look similar but perform different functions If a person uses it constantly they might start to remember the options by rote but for me at least its just plain frustrating to maneuver around in it           Hate to be the wet blanket but

While not as fully featured as a desktop editorIDE it gets the job done I use it primarily for the quick code tweak and brainstormingprototyping Im really only missing refactoring assistance better code hinting and of course SCM integration Allinall its my goto editor on iOS              Goto code editor

Update 20150324 STILL Love this app and use it everyday Issues below still exist oh well Another request though instead of having to zip up an items moving it unzipping transferring out of folder renaming etcetera It would be great to have a copy option with possible renaming built in That is all Still awesome And I use my computer less and less when I just have to do small edits Dropbox integration is awesomeness as this is the main way I communicate and help my students with Case Studies and projects MOST used app Updated 20141116 Bug Using splitkeyboard leaves top shortcuts semi transparent but unusable I would love to use splitkb w shortcut keys Please notice the rating is still 5 Its still that good And to have ftp built in means I never have to leave the app Only thing that would be helpful on the business side is Box integration as this is how I communicatecollaborate with clients and other developers Top notch product though Thanks for all your work Absolutely worth every penny                 Still Best code editor on iOS

Need to repair some bugs related to cloud services like dropbox or Google drive They doesnt work good              More compatibility

Two issues I have 1 The whole reason I liked this app was the quick special characters above the keyboard I have multiple keyboards on ios8 Chinese swype and US English This apparently messes with textastic and I no longer get them on a split keyboard and the mix with the keyboard when not split For this reason I no longer use this app 2 Full Dropbox sync support Its not here and after over a year of waiting Ibe given up So if these two are fixed Id come back and change this to five stars        Was great until I updated to ios8

I write code in this on the go and its got some really nifty features It may not be as flexible as Textmate on the Mac but it doesnt get tedious to use after a bit if time like some other iOS productivity apps do I like the built in browser to preview my HTML locally or as a URL Its FTP client is good enough and links to my hosting company via SFTP You could not ask for more in a touch interface                 Great alternative to lugging around a MacBook

My requirement was SFTP and easy coding for html Yes it does a great job and more The text selection tools is amazing Finally an intuitive and accurate way to select copy and paste Just what I needed Thanks                 Excellent tools

Ive used Textastic on and off for the past couple years Its great for small little edits to my websites However uploading is embarrassingly slow Just like the other guy said it takes a lot of button pressing just to upload a file Cant there just be an upload button in the navbar that replaces the file on the server like Diet Coda does Also you cant copy multiple files and paste them which is a pain in the butt for me It crashes pretty often on iOS 8 and Im using an iPad Air I hate to say it but I feel like Textastic has seriously lost my respect over the years Im ashamed to say that I will be using Diet Coda for the time being or until Textastic adds the necessities        A welldesigned app that lacks features I rely on

Worth every penny Runs faster and jumps higher Me 6 sites CSS HTM JS PHP SVG all in Textastic plus imported images 6 iCloud folders shared between iPad iPhone and MBP FTPed to sites All smooth as silk Mobile first I do my Textastic work on the iPad Mini very occasionally on the road for an emergency update from the iPhone 6 Plus Laptop no longer needed A multifile search and replace surely would be nice                 My site maintenance tool of choice 6 stars

This is an editor with immense potential not just for coding but also for writing I do a lot of authoring in Markdown and reStructuredText Sphinx and want a tool that is useful for editing code examples and book text Textastic delivers The only thing I wish is that you could include reStructuredText support natively yes I know there is a Textmate bundle Keep up the good work Its probably just a dream but it would also be great if I can edit files from GitHub and commit them even if just one at at time from the editor                 A winner and a humble request

All I could say is that this is app is wellpolished an has many unique features such as preview I enjoy the design and also has a great online manual that is enriched with information that is useful when learning about the app Nice work Alexander Cant wait for future updates                 Great Friendly Coding App

Absolutely fantastic app Makes it so easy to edit websites and webapps from anywhere With Dropbox integration and easytoconfigure server connections this is an easy to use and well thought out app A must for any developer                 Phenomenally Easy to Use

Code editing features are very limited Especially with a touch screen any help editing text would be great Intellisense used by Visual Studio is a excellent example to copy           Its a much needed app on the iPad

I have used it for years and never felt the urge to go out and find something better                 Rock solid

I love it I mainly use it for taking notes in programming courses Im a college student but I also use it to make minor changes to my personal website and connecting to my server via SFTP makes that incredibly easy My one caveat although not enough to take a star away is that I would love it if there was a confirmation before uploading a file Wouldnt want to accidentally push the wrong files to the wrong location on my server                 Perfect

Great for large 450K files Identical appearance to desktop app so if you like the desktop interface youll have no learning curve All other apps for markdown editors and notes programs are excruciatingly slow for files of this size Great search function with well defined highlights for the search hits and a listing of all hits so you can see whats the relevant hit right away without having to look at each one Editorial is its main competition for large files Thats a nice app too but this has a better markdown preview function at least IMHO Price is in line for what you get Editorial is 2 bucks more                 Great app

If you need to edit code on the fly Textastic is the best 9 you will ever spend for your iPad With the Apple Bluetooth keyboard Textastic makes editing websites a breeze All of the other apps I have tried are clunky and require way too much extra work just to get the job done The author also responds to tech questions quickly I dont need to haul my laptop around anymore if Im at a client meeting and need to make changes quickly Work in Textastic drop into Dropbox done Just wonderful                 Utterly fantastic in all ways

Nice with good syntax support Even though you can transfer tofrom Dropbox etc you cant sync This may be better for offline work but inconvenient when switching between devices often Overall nice app though              okay but no cloud syncing

I would highly recommend this app because it does the job very well and is very professional and well written It does everything that I needed plus more My only complaint is that for password protection it would be nice to simply use your fingerprint Other than that fabulous design easy to use great work guys                 Wonderful App

Ive found this editor to be very useful when the only device I have with me is my iPad                 Very useful

I purchased this app after reading several reviews online and after hesitantly spending the money I know its only 899 but Im a broke college student I can honestly say that it was money VERY well spent Im sitting at work right now and I just wrote my next 2 coding assignments for class in less than 15 minutes The quick symbol keys are a God send saving tons of time from going in between the different keyboards on my iPad The only thing I would add is importexport compatibility for OneDrive and the ability to run the program in my case Ruby scripts from within the app itself Regardless of those two things 5 stars                 Excellent Coding App

Im a regular user of Sublime Text on my laptop and I chose this app because I liked how I can use the Monokai theme and the Source Code Pro font I use an external keyboard with this app and this makes it very easy to write code on the go However if this app had some critical improvements then I would be very happy with this app This is mainly in regards to using this app with an external keyboard 1 Scrolling It would be very convenient to scroll with this app without moving the cursor or having to touch the screen It is a bit annoying to be typing on the keyboard and having to reach and touch the screen slightly further away 2 Completion of brackets parentheses quotes etc would be useful as well as code completion with other bits of code in the same file With that being said this is still a very good app and I would recommend it I really hope that these changes get implemented              Very good app for coding but needs some improvements

This program is even easier to use than the one I have on my desktop PC Wow I never expected such functionality on my iPad Air I recommend that people install it without hesitation                 Love this program

I just got this for both OS X and iOS I have been looking for a Notepad like text editor for the Apple ecosystem What I found provides more and is better for what I do The markdown handling alone makes it worth the small price I was also happy to find that I can open OneDrive files right from the app                 A beautiful and flexible text management app

This app is very good if you have a computer to run your programs so I think it would be a lot nicer if you could run your programs in the app              Very good but would like one thing

If you looking to support your website using iPad dont look further Its the real deal Its almost perfect piece of software If you looking at my review buy it Things I would love to see here Auto completion of brackets like when you write css So you dont have to write it yourself Fast keyboard is actually a great tool so its not a big issue Reorganizing design maybe a little so its more understandable And all kind of wild things Console testing source code viewer github Maybe a different program for those Yeah and if you need extra hand with design or programming let me know                 One of the best editors I have ever seen

I downloaded this app specifically because it has integration with Working Copy and was hoping to be able to actually be productive However you have to go through several tapssteps to open any file from Working Copy you dont open a project so much as you open a file from Working Copy making any real development impossibly slow        Integration with Working Copy other apps is terrible

ICloud Drive is poorly integrated The whole file handling approach is messy and confusing I want to able to edit files on an iCloud Drive so those edits are shared across my devices Then push them to a web server iCloud drive doesnt seem to be an option for direct access only via an open Dialog Thus it doesnt fit in with the separate sftp uploaddownload approach for servers        File handling needs rethinking

I code while working my full time desk job and cant use my work computer for personal use so I am forced to code on my iPad I have tried them all from Diet Coda to you name it This app is hands down the best app on the market today Besides all the great features it has this control pad that is to awesome to explain in one review Apple seriously needs to incorporate some of the features of this app into its iPads main user interface No question this is the Best iPad Integraded development environment available to the public for html5 css and javascript Its a must have if you use an iPad to code for the web                 1 ipad IDE

The top row of the keyboard uses gestures to enter a wide range of programming symbols After just an hour I was already starting the remember where and how to enter them Support for the split keyboard is poor however I would like to be able to position my hands so that my iPad is balanced in them and I dont Have to hold it at the bottom The reason I bought it however was to be able to edit files in Dropbox Unfortunately there is no sync files need to be manually downloaded and uploaded After jus one session of editing in which I did not realize this my files have now diverged in both places I wish I could use text attic but I will be looking for something else A shame nothing is better     Text entry is good Dropbox integration is nearly useless
