The latest update make the app splash the logo and bye bye     Doesnt work

The books are as great as the conferences If they keep up with good content like this I will continue my subscription Believe it should cost less to make it available to more people specially considering the size and number of books you get Low cost high volume is the trend My biggest complaint is not being able to setup multiple downloads in the background You have to download each book at a time and wait till it finishes to download another You cant read a downloaded book while a new one downloads This might be trivial with super fast connections but many like me need to wait minutes for each one of these downloads Not good if you want to download several books for later offline reading Settings should have option to leave videos in the cloud for online streaming to save precious memory on my iPad Subscription terms arent easily found Not sure if you get to keep books If you cancel subscription Dont get me wrong the app is great considering its the first version but theres definitely room for improvement           Great content app needs improvement

The books are great Unfortunately I am unable to access any of the books I purchased over several months of my subscription The app has the latest update I have gone online and tried suggested fixes andI have contacted support several times requesting help with no response I am really disappointed and feel I have wasted my money     Cant access purchased books

After updating I lost the entire library but I contacted customer service and they responded right away They fixed the problem and I deleted and reinstalled the app and all the books were restored I love this app and think its awesome Cant wait for more books to be added TED is great as always                 Latest Issue

Books reimagined The new version downloaded fine for me The subscription offer works out at less than 1book                 Beautiful

I like the concept and enjoy reading the material but what is the point of videos They take forever to download and arent really good reading material I bought the 1499 subscription but with a slow Internet connection I cant access any of the material It gets stuck on the downloading videos then just gives up with a lost connection I know I have Internet actively using it during the download so Im left to suspect a poorly designed content system Is it possible to make the videos optional Generally I like to read books Im more interested in what the authors have to say than seeing pictures and video Ive tried to read a couple books but it takes so long to download video that I just give up And if you dont have free space to store the videos there is always the possibility that you will never read the book     Stop Videos

Ive been using this app for a week and have read 45 of the books I love the concept I love the UI I love the subscription I love the content Some bugs I want to mention that Im sure are being addressed Downloading content is slow unstable and stops every time my screen dims while waiting for it If the video content didnt download by default this whole problem would probably disappear Maybe add a link at the end of each book with the option to run the video download or an option in settings to change the auto download default Fix that problem with an update and Ill come back to 5 star this app           Great App Needs Tweaked

This is a very good companion application to the usual way users consume TED This app allows for easy managing of TED Books with a simple iBooks like book shelf design where users can see their collection and book topics they might be interested in This app can work to bring fans of TED talks deeper into the subjects they are interested in              TED Books

Just finished reading my first TedBook using the new iPad app the format is without a doubt the trend for the future of books Users no longer need to have other supports such as internet connection a browser Wikipedia etc in order to enjoy a book With the TedBook we now have a onestop reading experience I also like the concise size of the books and the way audios and videos open in popup windows that allows the user the ability to manipulate their content With the new TedBook app we can now grasp one amazing idea after another and all is takes is an hour at most This app can only get better Kudos to the team              I love it

I love TED and I really love TEDbooks It is an amazing place learn about emerging technologies and information If you enjoy watching the TED talks youll love the books Im not a reader but I totally love getting into my TED books Also the subscription is nice because the books automatically download Thanks TED for making a great product Some things to add in the future icloud syncing across devices notes and highlights ability to gift a particular book to someone from within the app printable notes thanks again              Awesome Information Love it

Good content and decent navigation but so difficult to deal with the multimedia on my iPhone All the captions cover all the images and I cant figure out how to turn them off Additionally cannot use it in landscape mode which makes watching the videos headacheinducing I suspect my experience would be quite different on an iPad but that isnt the device I own Please help those of us with smaller screens out           Good content tough on an iPhone

I love the Ted conferences and their online videos but this app sadly is a massive fail Instead of being billed annually I was billed every three months and on top of that it wouldnt let me download any books without paying the 199 per book price I sent Ted six emails about this and never got anything but an automated response     Youll be billed quarterly instead of annually and it will still try to bill you for each book

Yes TED is TED but something has constantly gone wrong with the book app Perhaps they should consider offering a subscription as part of iTune iBooks or Kindle They are nice and of course well meaning it is TED but they cant seem to make a go of ebooks though a good idea I would suggest that you might hold off purchases until they iron out the bugs and support the application in the manner reserved for their events and video     Wont update purchases crashes a waste for now

Anyone who knows TED knows the content is inspiring The app is a good and well designed app but with some room for improvement This latest update v109 released May 20 2013 has a bug that causes it to crash incessantly DONT UPDATE until the next version comes out              GREAT content GOOD app BAD update

Downloaded the upgrade And now my app will not open Flashes the logo and then stops     Doesnt work

Print too small for the book covers and zooming not allowed cant even make out the titles of books thus rendering the app useless     Eye strain

I opened app for first time in a few weeks saw book on shelf to get new subscription I clicked it and now the app only crashes every time I open it iStore shows only Open no option to uninstall or reinstall What do I do now     What happened Ran Great Now All Crashes

A remarkable experience For a few hours after its debut it was difficult to download books as their server got hammered but now it is working smoothly I read through my first book on human evolution in about an hour and felt as though I was speed reading because one scrolls through text rather than flipping pages As expected the text was scintillating and I feel as though Ive learned a lot in a relatively short period of time                 TED Books on Day one

The reader appears to be a Adobe Air app or something similar Several bugs including one glaring issue I cant share via email I select it but email sheet never appears on my iPhone        Neat Data So So delivery

I just got this app and Im taking a flight tomorrow Really loving it and looking forward to having TED content with me while Im on the go The format makes a lot of sense as it is shorter and includes more interactivity A much better idea than 250 page static idea books                 TED On The Go

Still full of all the new ideas and nice presentation as the earlier version I reviewed and now its faster and smoother for downloading My first review I like that just like TED talks theres a wide array of different topics here from tech to art to psychology to philosophy Its a refreshing glimpse of how diverse the human mind is Provocative ideas all around stretching me to think about things in new ways and see what may be coming in our near future App is pretty simple to use The embedded multimedia links add some nice interactivity and enhance the stories with pictures sounds video etc Overall a fun way to delve into some of the freshest ideas out there                 Now faster with newer version

I like how the multimedia extras add another layer of depth to the reading And its free Whats not to love                 A

Just downloaded the updates with latest version and it looks amazing                 New version is awesome

Ok so I dont have the fastest Internet connection in the world but do I REALLY have to watch the video portion of these books download As soon as my iPad goes into sleep mode the download bombs So for each book I want to read I have to add 15 20 minutes of watching a download screen to make sure the download does not time out Thanks TED really productive use of my time How about letting me read the content while the videos download in the background Apart from that annoying aspect the app seems nice content informative and engaging           Nice content a PAIN to use

Easy to use and visually attractive app I was happy find it so userfriendly Despite being a novice appbook reader I found out the nuances of the extras features easy and intuitive Love that it delivers thoughtprovoking short reads that can be taken anywhere via my iPhone Terrific subscription deal on iTunes Cant wait to get my friends turnedon to this app really enjoy it and HIGHLY recommend it                 Easy to enjoy thought provoking short reads whats not to LOVE

I had an All Access subscription and theyve changed the model I renewed under the new model and all of my previous downloads are gone and the bookshelves are empty I have emailed support and was receiving responses until 10 days ago Now nothing iTunes has been no help either Dont waste your money because you wont get anything for it     New subscription modellatest update wiped my record clean

It keeps crashing I have deleted and reloaded and still crashes I am not happy Im paying for what        Loved it Not happy now

I love Ted books this app has worked well with my iPad original couldnt be more pleased Highly recommend it to perpetual learners                 Ted books are terrific

I was very surprised at how disappointing this app turned out to be The quality of Ted videos and the Ted brand is usually so outstanding I thought the same would carry over to their book app Boy was I wrong I hardly know where to begin in discussing features that are vastly superior in nearly every other program of this type The page turning feature is clunky you cant highlight you cant make notes and if you want to comment the comments are for the entire book not a part of the book and in addition are publicly visible to everyone Find the titles by looking in the app but then if youre on an iPad use iBooks open TED books app and find the selections but go to the iBooks store to purchase at same price You will be much much happier reading them in the iBooks Those features I mentioned earlier and others are easily available in iBooks     Only useful for finding the titles

Recently all my books disappeared It was sad to see empty shelves I emailed support at TED and they told me to delete and reinstall the app I did that five times but now the app crashes every time I open it Please fix My old review I love the idea of subscribing to short TED books But the app functionality needs work You have to download one by one each of the dozen plus books you purchase with your subscription There is no mass way to do it The ereader functionality is just different enough from the Kindle app which I use all the time to be frustrating And when you use the builtin feature to email a quote from a book the email recipient sees the quote but not what book it is from who the author is etc just TED book     Very frustrated All books disappeared now constant crashing

I was an All Access subscriber I downloaded 810 books and read a couple then I let my subscription lapse and restored my iPad Now all my paid for content is lost and I must Pay Again to restore it Beware        Great Content Lost it all

Great app and Ive really enjoyed all the books Ive read so far The only very frustrating thing is that its slow to load especially because of video extras This makes it impossible to read your book at times You should have the choice to not load videos to speed up the process Otherwise Ive really enjoyed it and look forward to new book additions              Good but slow

Disappointing The app cant be navigated with VoiceOver A lot of the voice output doesnt make sense and buttons need to be labeled     Doesnt work with VoiceOver

Minor tech obstacles to get installed are worth the effort The rich multimedia environment has enabled some of the best TED minds to express their ideas worth sharing in a rich hyperlinked format that lets the reader dive as deeply as they want to expand and extend their engagement with the topic Harvesting the best of TED in this new environment is exciting and I am looking forward to digesting all the new TED Books Thanks TED Team                 Worth the wait

Love the interactive books Great add to my ipad experience May I suggest a few things 1 A slightly bigger arrow on bottom right to turn pages I read in landscape and use my finger to turn but seem to hit the bar instead 2 A way to store books I have read but want for reference I download read and then delete the book to save storage on iPad But the book goes back to a green arrow Maybe you would allow an archive section This is the way I store hard cover books I plan on having many books in this library 3 Can you link to iOS readspeak option Would love to hear these books while multitasking Thats it Thanks for listening           TEDBooks High Potential

Update It worked fine after I synced with Mac Is a very nice little app I look forward to more books Previous Have tried mutiple times to install this app it can not find the internet connection              does not work

Love the books I purchased but there are no extras on any of them and neither is there an option for any of them to be read by author as the description states Needs some serious updating to fix these issues that are supposed to make TED books unique        Distinct Functions Dont Work

I love how the navigation works with these books The thing I really wish it had is the ability to underline and highlight Currently the only option is to underline and post to a social network or email I would like to underline and write notes like you can in kindle and then be able to access these notes in one place I think this could be a good research tool but the absence of these features makes it difficult I look forward to an enhanced highlight tool        Good start but missing key feature
