Stars and Stripes Tablet Edition

Great app Presentation content UI perfect Didnt expect anything less and you delivered                 Very nice

disqus shuts down so no comments can be made or read weather dosent work     unhappy

Im retired Army and enjoyed the paper stars and striped I decided to try this app Because of my work schedule I found that I was not using the app I went to try to cancel my subscription back in January 2014 the option was not available in the app to cancel I emailed the iTunes Store support and Stars and Stripes and was told it was fixed but today 4 Feb 2015 I just found out Im about to be charged again for the second time     Rip Off

The tablet edition will not open in my iPad 3 Jack     Will Not Open in my IPad 3

I was the fence about getting this to start with since Im not a big fan of Stars and Stripes I figured it would give me something to do on long flights so I downloaded it I went to subscribe but the app keeps crashing and wont let me pay for the subscription I guess it was a sign I shouldnt have downloaded it to start with     Wont load

Downloaded SS on iPad read my 7 free articles Refers me to homepage to subscribe but cannot subscribe as there are no links to subscribe App deleted     Circular Impossibilty to Subscribe

I have enjoyed the improvements to the tablet edition Ispecifically enjoy reading the Pacific section of the paper More news              Getting Better

As has been mentioned I too took out a subscription last year through the App Store but am unable to get my remaining issues What gives Really poor business practices Be wary of dealings with this app     Paid for 1Year Got 6 Months

works well on my old timey iPad3 see a lot of military related news here that I dont see reported by other news outlets                 quite happy

This application functions poorly and this alleged newspaper is not worth the money You have lost a customer     Poor

Lags a lot when changing sections and going from and article back to the main section pages Faster just to go to the website           Laggie

I am currently in the trial period and I absolutely love it The navigation is clean the layouts are beautiful the reference table is well organized and it has a feature where you can select your location for weather Very well done It still could use some improvements 1 There is no feature to find past articles by typing in a keyword or phrase into a search field For example a user can type in a keyword or phrase and all the articles within a specified time period related to the search would list showing the latest at the top A good example is the Sunday Comics Maybe I want to see comics from last month or a few months ago Currently I can only see the last published Sunday Comics I type Sunday Comics in the search field and give the date parameters of Jan 2013 I should see all the Sunday Comics list for the month of January Speaking of comics doesnt the Stars and Stripes have a daily strip featuring Beetle Bailey and PVT Murphys Law I am still looking but have not seen those yet on this app This is the first time I have put any kind of publication such as a newspaper or magazine on my iPad I dont know if other publications have this ability but the search feature alone added to the app as it is could possibly clear up improvement number 2 and make this app a definite 5 stars 2 Its not clear on whether the news buffer is based on time or the amount of articles for that subject in a particular category Since the tablet edition is updated daily new news may push yesterdays news out before you get a chance to read it kind of like throwing out yesterdays paper before you are finished with it a Perhaps a synopsis can be included in the settings tap explaining how everything is archived in the tablet edition as it is updated I have seen stories from a couple of days ago but how long do they stay there before the user cant see them anymore I dont want to feel like I am missing stories each day the app is updated with the latest news 3 If you are reading an article you cant zoom in and out by pinching or separating your fingers that feature does work in the comic strip section This is not really a big deal because you can change the text size in the settings but it was just an observation Overall as I said initially the app is well done and anyone who likes Stars and Stripes should be quite pleased if they decide to get a subscription Perhaps the search feature is already there if you are a paid subscriber I still have a few more days to check out this app so I made add to this review For anyone that has an iPad and likes Stars and Stripes I would recommend this app over buying the print copy It is just some much neater and better for the environment Plus rather than save a whole paper you can save the articles you want Thats a win I wonder if you can backup saved articles to the cloud              My opinion on the Stars and Stripes Tablet Edition

After a few months of a subscription for which I paid a years subscription in advance the Stars and Stripes management has informed me they do not like Apple iTunes and require me to sign up via PressPlus I dont want another PressPlus payment system and feel Stars and Stripes is not keeping their end of the bargain     Misleading arrangement

This loaded one time and then hangs up every time on the splash screen and they charge for this     Broken

I was all set to use inapp purchases to subscribe to SS But since that isnt an option obviously I cant do that And then after reading the reviews here of dissatisfied customers who were screwed over by the other subscription options I am not inclined to go through any other parties to subscribe Star and Stripes you have good reporters but whoever you are relying on to sell us the news is stabbing you in the back by disallowing the simplest way to consume it     I am not getting a subscription

The PX is always 3 days behind with editions so this option is awesome thanks                 Excellent

Foreign and domestic content you wont found aggregated anywhere else Loved it when I served in Germany and the Far East Still love it because they run articles and break news nobody else will Indispensable                 Great News Source for Anyone
