We use this a good deal while watching meteor showers and on balcony in Cancun Good for identifying stars and constellations Star map is a great tool eclipse watcher

This app while excited to use has been nothing short of frustrating My directional awareness is great however this app s tracking feature is so far off the compass it is difficult to compare with visible constellations The display is not very clear either I know I m looking at Venus the app has named some other star Quite a waste of money Expensive for how annoying it is LookingInPhx

The app does not only provide you with a great description of the constellations It is great for sighting opportunities for the space station and watching for satellites Helpful App

Would be nice to have the option of adjusting the zodiac to Tropical instead of just the usual Sidereal It would introduce this app to a wider audience and be a great teaching tool in Astrology Despite the wobble of the axis argument the seasons are always faithful to humans Spring starts in 0 degrees Aries and the planets relate to earth and her inhabitants in time not space Please consider adding this feature Projecting this amazing app up onto my 58 ultra hd would be amazing Great App

I bought this app for my astronomy class and it turned out to be the wrong one but this one is actually way better than the other star apps my classmates have It shows exactly what planets are up in the sky and you can easily locate them and then observe with a telescope its amazing and totally worth it Im so glad I found this by accident Fantastic

This app is a fantastic little app for what it does Hold it up and it tracks the sky and shows you whats up there The tracking seems to be smoother and more accurate than a lot of the other similar apps and the graphics look a lot cooler as well Everything is clearly labeled and you can click on information and read wikipedia articles about the planets and stars It even shows satellites that move by in the sky in real time Fantastic app

Simply Awesome Star Map

I downloaded this app because of all the positive reviews I really like how it shows a graphical image of the shape represented by the constellations However last night we see two large bright bodies very close together open the app yep theres Venus figured that was one of the bodies The app doesnt identify any bodies close to Venus Try again nope Today Yahoo has an article about Venus and Jupiter putting on a backyard sky show Really you couldnt find Jupiter Its a freaking planet Uninstalling You cant find a planet

What else needs to be said that hasnt been said already Great looking App with numerous features Transitions and flows smoothly between different displays and items I was very surprised to see the real time satellites as they were Very cool For the average person who wants to learn more or for the person who just wants to kill some time to the person who is an acid astronomer look no further as this App is clearly head and shoulders above the rest Fantastic Useful App

I love the compass guided sky view it is more detailed and easier to use than any star chart Ive used Theres a few things I wish they would think about though They include URLs for more information for some things but theres no way to copy those URLs and they arent hyperlinked Why include the data at all Also information for a few items most notably the ISS is incredibly out of date as of 1998 which seems like a huge miss in an app where data is your primary selling point Overall though Still using it Great App with a few minuses

I discovered an issue with your app tonight I was using the 3D model mode and looking at how far away some of the stars in the sky were I was surprised to find that some stars were hundreds of thousands of light years from earth while in actuality they were a few dozen light years away and their stated radii were physically impossible at 19000 times the suns radius I was disappointed to find that this was not only one star The stars I saw with errors were Hamal and Denebakrab but I saw many more This makes me hesitant to trust this app at all for reliable information Please check the data you have But overall the app is amazing even with the errors It would also be cool to see the mass of every star in the info as well Cool app Inaccurate star info

I just want to say give it a try you will be happy with it I have to go now to look at the night sky A good idea

You cant manipulate the map on manually You have to let the gyroscope do it for you The settings button doesnt work so you cant change the settings to get the app to function like youd like it to Pretty much a waste of time and money Dont buy Alsoits glitchy It has frozen or kicked me out several times This just isnt a good app A refund is needed here Meh

Just named two stars in the International Star Registry for my family was able to type in the HIP catalogue s and locate each of our new stars immediately Not only was I able to instantly locate them but I bookmarked both of them and named the bookmark after the star it located Im on cloud 9 Love being able to locate save and zoom in This app ads so much enjoyment to our gift Bought the original Starmap many years ago when it was 1299 and loved it but decided to get the 3D version tonight I couldnt believe it was so cheap I used my older version all of the time but could not search the star catalogue Many great new features More than worth the AND the space on my phone Perfect

This is a really awesome app I use it to explore the constellations and stars with my 7yearold son It can even show you the Chinese constellations as well as the old western Classical ones Top notch work thanks to the authors Cool app

I assist in public nights at our local observatory Rolnick in Westport CT Most of the key holders are very knowledgeable and I am still in the learning stage This app provides me with needed information quickly and easily I have tried over twenty deep sky apps and this is the best yet Best deep sky app I have found

On an iPad2 it is nicely responsive compass mode pointing at sky works well Search from catalog is good Feature list is very good no unnecessary frills Would like to have a more informative explanation of some settings but not a serious flaw Also would like possibility of displaying more items with magnitudes less than 8 for use with decent binoculars or small scopes Overall quite nice Initial impression very good to excellent
