The SoundMeter is now available for $19.99 for both iPhone and iPad owners.The application is supporting English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. The new SoundMeter app version 3.1 has been updated on 2014-11-20. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. I searched for a sound meter app to read the decibels in my class This one said it was free in the list so I downloaded it went back and it was 20 Weird glitch that just cost me a lot Bologna
While this wont replace my trusty old Simpson analog it was surprisingly accurate Within 15dB of my idling diesel truck and 2dB of my very loud alarm clock Will need to test it some more however it is really handy to have Also the price is perfectly set for such a good well thought out and bug free app Surprisingly Accurate
After running the latest update Oct 2011 now the SPL app displays the wrong levels Its about 10 Db off This is using the exact same settings as Ive always used C weighted and slow Ive always loved and used this app its just the update causing problems Update has caused some problems
Accuracy is excellent and well worth the price for the convenience if you work in sound reinforcement UI is a little quirky when rotating and help is pretty limited and slow so amatuers should do their research for general usage Excellent and accurate
Its so much easier to read then the Radio Shack one I used to use Great app for any sound tech Fantastic

Before I updated the app I had all the in app purchasable addons New update I now have to spend 60 dollars just to have the app I originally bought Awesome Dont buy it there are plenty of free ones that wont take your cash then make you fork out more Evidently dont update
A decent handheld decible meter will set you back a few hundred This app was only 20 and even with the preset calibration it was very close to my high end meters 15db Obviously this wont replace equipment and software that cost thousands It does what it advertises to do and will make taking basic readings quicker and easier Accurate and Affordable
This app is a great start I have it working within 1dB of a RadioShack meter and within 3dB of a Norsonic for most sound sources This would easily be a fife star app if apple would open up a line in or digital in through the dock connector so that measurement mics could be attached Adding a trigger function and reverb time calculation would also be a welcome addition Other than those minor requests this app is well worth the money Fantastic Start
Calibrated to my SLM Now I have a quick measurement any time I need it Leq was a great feature to throw in Big thanks Great job Worth every penny
