This app is cheesy and not interesting at all There should be a way to get your money back for apps you are dissatisfied with As a birth to three SLP I know I will never use this app Very disappointed Not worth it SLP Kate
I was hoping to provide a fun alternative to a five year old patient s exercise regime with this app however we were both disappointed First I could not get this app to switch to a horizontal IPad and the vertical position cut out some of the screenshot Second I could not scroll through the exercise tabs Third I will agree that the duck s lips and tongue movements did not provide enough of a visual prompt It simply wasn t worth the price Not worth the investment Cates Hill
A duck does not have lips so this app does not really give the child a good visual model A duck s bill is naturally round and that makes it difficult to tell the position of the mouth I was desperate to find an oral motor app for kids and this was disappointing Not only do I not like the duck the duck performs the exercise once and then pops off the screen It needs to repeat until the child has joined in and the therapist taps it off My kids watch it and don t join it b c it disappears AFTER they know what to do It was a nice idea but poorly executed I wish I had time to make a good one Twirly Girl1
I just started using this app with 3 4 5 year olds It is very easy to follow and makes exercises fun It also makes data collection easy Good oral motor app for preschool jillsmay21
This is a fantastic app for learning oral motor exercises Must have Also great to recommend to parents Awesome Mrsalexstewart
Eh This is priced too high The quality is cheesy and the wording is poor when giving directions Hopefully someone else will create an OM app of higher quality I wish I could return this and get my back Eh Ms. Speechie
Really wish I had read reviews There s no way to go back to main page in the middle of the duck giving instructions so you have to listen to them each time You also cannot go back in the middle of a production if done It doesn t allow you to keep track of appropriate productions or vice versa Really wish I could have my money back or at least get another app for the waste on this one Disappointed Mitchhazel
No child really enjoys having peculiar items poke and prod at their face but with this app it makes the whole process a lot easier The kids love the graphics and animations and I even have them try it on me first to get them engaged and help them understand it won t hurt Another great app from Smarty Ears Makes oral motor exams easier Suzanne Borzilleri
This is great for my preschoolers Imitating the duck is more fun Oral motor Majjl21
This app is unrealistic and difficult to imitate due to the fact that the character is a duck with a bill instead of something with a more human like mouth It does not have a wide range of oral motor exercises My students and I are not impressed by this app at all I am disappointed that I spent the money on it Not worth the money Slp19831109
For 5 99 you get a duck not even a real person showing your child how to do different mouth and tongue exercises There aren t even that many maybe 12 Different choices Save yourself the money Not worth the price Deestar75
This app is wonderful for my son who has oral apraxia Thank you Perfect sevenrox
I use this app with my students in preschool and elementary school It is a good warm up before beginning articulation practice The interface is simple so even my three year olds can navigate independently Whether it is the duck or the stars they accrue from completing various oral motor tasks they are often willing to attempt many oral postures in a short amount of time This app also provides me with good diagnostic information about their oral motor skills Motivating app Bh764
The kids I work with enjoy watching the duck when they are doing their oral motor exercises They are much more motivated when doing it along with the duck I would like the option to change repetitions and manipulate the app a little more Motivating app FrustratedFB'er
This app is simple and easy to use Please update and replace the duck with a child We treat children and or adults not ducks Please update Shady79
Love this app to guide my students in oral motor exercises However I still need to give them my own visual cues with models since ducks don t have lips But the graphics are cute simple and they to emulate human mouths Works great with an Elmo to project on the board for classroom lessons Just Ducky Trisha C.-SLP
This app is very kid friendly I tried taking real pictures of my students for oral motor but nothing was more motivating than this little duck I m not sure older kids would enjoy it as much but my preschoolers love it Kid friendly Catherine Podany
I purchased this for my mother who is currently in the hospital and cannot pass a swallow evaluation test and come to find out when I got to the hospital to do therapy with her the darn program had NO SOUND How do I get this fixed Can anyone help me with this My mother would enjoy this even though it is for children it is the exact exercises the speech therapist ordered for her to do to strengthen her to where she can eat instead of being fed by a tube PLEASE HELP No Sound Gramswand
First of all this Smarty Ears App has a great variety of exercises I like being able to choose the number of repetitions With some modifications this useful app could even be easier for to use It would be nice if the reinforcing collection of stars by the client was more interactive and more rewarding Additionally I would like to see a close up of the exercises since the duck s little mouth isn t that easy to spot although they are exagerrated nicely As far as interactivity maybe another option could be a simple identification game where the user could identify lips teeth gums etc on a big duck head Overall nice addition to my tools Kids are so drawn to technology Overall a nice tool for iPad speech therapy tools Fraulaura
As a mom I don t know what to do for speech exercises so this has been fun using Love Joyboytinkertoy
I love this app It is very motivating for kids because they can earn stars for each exercise they complete I recommend Oral motor Dakota Robinson
I have some of the Super Duper flashcards for Oral motor but I am so happy I found this app I use this app and Speech Trainer together to work on Oral Motor Skills with my students Interesting that someone mentions the Duck yes I wish it was a different animal but come on How come you didn t see that before you bought the app I highly recommend this app as the ONLY app to work on these skills Great interactive app for working on Oral Motor skills LeadSLP_45
My pediatric patients find this app interesting and rewarding They are more engaged in the activity than they are when simply following my own example or pictures in a book They enjoy earning the stars at the top of the screen however it disturbs my autistic patient that there seems to be no way to earn a 15th star an that leaves an empty space in the progress bar I resolve his concern by giving him an actual star sticker to keep I m not a fan of the duck s voice or of the mysterious brown blob at the left of the scene however it doesn t bother the kids and that s really what it s all about right Engaging smarshian
I have been looking for a good oral motor app to use with my students I thought this might be it It is not If I could get my money back I might be happy The duck as the main character is not a good idea Real lips would work so much better It is difficult to follow the exercises with the duck as an example Not worth the money Oral motor MtDen
