I love the magazine but cannot access half my recent purchases I wish it werent so but neither Apple or the magazine publisher will help They referred me to each otherlast time I tried I cancelled my subscription Content A Support F        Lack of Support Nice Magazine When Working

ST laments that its average readership is aging Not being able to provide a high quality electronic edition which is what younger readers expect only accelerates this trend Ive been a subscriber for decades and was excited when the electronic edition debuted a few years ago Unfortunately the eedition has not been maintained and it appears the publisher has abandoned this effort as it does not seem to properly work on iOS versions later that 50 A missed opportunity to expand readership to younger audiences I fear this is the beginning of the end for this once storied magazine     Missed Opportunity by SkyTelescope

I subscribe directly with ST but the app quits when I try to open the most recent monthly editions Its worked sporadically but rarely when Ive logged out deletedreinstalled the app and logged back in But thats a rather tedious process just to browse the latest issue     Doesnt recognize subscriptions

I got it to work for about an year During that time it would occasionally ask me to subscribe but would in time access my subscription info Even then a rather clumsy download arrangement made it slow Reading was ok but seemed to rely on downloaded PDF or something     Very poor

I could download the latest issue but the app would not allow me to download the last couple I do have the paper copies as I have a subscription I am told that I dont have a subscription even though I used the same log in for the current issue the save password button doesnt work           TG

Downloaded app Tried to subscribe to magazine Received 13 of Feb 2013 issue No links for support help or to cancel subscription Send complaint to Apple to unsubscribe and am going back to paper until you finish development I dont like to be a public beta guinea pig Recommend you wait     DOA

This ST app crashes within thirty seconds of starting It has been doing this for the last few releases of IOS I have deleted and reinstalled several times No luck Apple Make an example of these guys and remove them from the App Store Astronomy Magazine here I come     Crashes

Used to be able to buy individual issues without a subscription Cant do that any more     No Individual purchases

App used to work OK but it has not worked at all for months Closes immediately after opening Extremely frustrating It is a shame because ST is a great publication Do not spend any money for this I have many issues downloaded on iPad and I cannot access them Developers need to get their act together     Not functional

Im a digital subscriber to ST When I saw that they FINALLY released an app to read the magazine after several years of navigating PDFs I was excited to download and start reading Alas the app does not allow me to login I enter my credentials click Login and the app does nothing but grey out the login button Nothing else happens Would love to use the app but as is its worthless to me     Wont allow login

The app is dreadful its been problem after problem the latest version just hangs after telling me my once full library is empty Ill miss Sky Telescope Im not going back to print and this app is a mess Astronomy magazine and dozens of others have worked just fine     Its awful the publisher needs to fix this

Best content best magazine app and world class customer service If you have even a casual interest in astronomy I strongly recommend this app Keep up the great work                 World class magazine

After months of a broken app I have finally been able to download current and back issues              ITunes sub problems fixed

I have to echo what so many other reviewers have written I have been a print subscriber to ST for many years and an online subscriber for going on four years now I am completely fed up with having my online subscription disappear The record keeping system is just awful The magazine is good but stay away from the online sub     Tired of having my sub disappear

This app produces a catastrophic unrecoverable crash on startup requiring a reboot to get the iPhone working again NOT INTERMITTENTEVERY TIME Cmon Apple Get this PoS out of the store and start enforcing some basic quality controls Your vendors failures give you a black eye too     USELESS

This used to be an ok app But now it seems that all pages beyond page 23 simply display a page no and a blank screen Virtually useless     Used to work

This is really an abysmal piece of work If the mag that i love so much cared at all they would work on fixing this POS instead of letting its death fester I love ST but next year I am spending the extra few on Astronomy mag to get what I expect from the advertisements     Hopelessly Lost in Deep Space

This is one of the worst implementations of a magazine I have sen on an iPad No video almost zero interaction sloppy navigation when moving through the magazine Not cool Not cool at all     Not worth it

App says it no longer recognizes the login info that I have used for a long time Cant get in     Totally Broken

Over the last year Ive hoped the developers would fix this app because ST is about the only magazine I really really want to have on my IPad You see the basic problems in the other reviews issues cant be accessed old issues once accessed go away app refuses to acknowledge you as a legitimate subscriber Id uninstall then reinstall and it would work for a while then stop Calls to Apple and the magazine yielded only finger pointing Frustrating beyond belief Turned me off of the use of Newsstand completely Developers are either unable or unwilling to fix this app     Horribly broken DO NOT PURCHASE

When you zoom in the text just gets blurry The new issue wont load past page 23 BS Has allot of room for improvement        Only partial load

I can no longer download the magazine and read it offline Now every time I read an issue it has to download it You can always read it by just repeatedly downloading it but that increases and uses up your allotted data on you phone bill These arent very small files I imagine if you download it about five times then that is a gigabyte of data consumed     Not able to read offline

This has been a waste of time and money Ive had the app for a year now and I think I was only successful with being able to open 3 issues At first it would take multiple login attempts to view the magazine Now nothing I try will open them The app asks for my email and password which it says it doesnt have on file and gives me a link to the publication company to restore it When I ask them to fix it they ask for my address and 16 digit code on the mailing label of the magazine When I explain to them I dont get a physical magazine in the mail its through iTunes they tell me they dont deal with that So I basically gave them money for nothing     Horrible

The side scroll through covers is tedious There is no free intro issue to draw you in But the big failure is that if you preview an issue when you are done it asks if you want to subscribe and gives you one button to answer OK Idiocy     Who wrote this

The app wont recognize that Ive purchased the subscription in iTunes The app also crashes a lot UPDATE After selecting Restore Purchases several times deleting and reinstalling the app a couple times and after a couple calls to Sky Telescope Ive come to the following conclusions 1 The app doesnt work properly when you subscribe through iTunes ST kept strongly suggesting that I subscribe through the publisher because they dont see issues when subscribed through the publisher but they do when subscribed through iTunes 2 The app hasnt been updated in almost 2 years In this day and age that pretty much means the app has been abandoned Its no wonder that there are issues with it Ive switched to Astronomy Magazine ST is a great magazine but if you cant access issues then whats the use     App has been abandoned

Cant read issues Ive purchased without an internet connectionfor example on an airplane or on the train I have wifi only iPad Terribly inconvenient     Needs inet

I have several other print subscriptions I got all their digital versions in store without any problem This digital version does not integrate with Newsstand well at all There is no visible button for you to transfer your print subscription Transfer has to be done from the web browser The worst of the all is that after all that trouble the Newsstand cant authentic the digital subscription Thumb down     Who did the digital edition

I am a long term subscriber and want to read the current edition on line The Ap asks for my email and my password 1 I see no way that it confirms that I am a subscriber 2 It asks for a password that I dont think I have given them So far my conclusion is that this site is not userfriendly I did get an automatic reply that they would investigate and get back to me Well see how long it takes        A problem signing up

The frustration I have with this app is no doubt part of the restrictions imposed on it by design Not able to download back issues I already paid for in my subscription for one In a more recent case I downloaded the feb 2014 issue but havent had a chance to read till the march 2014 was already released Now the app refuses to let me open the February issue even though I already downloaded it Dont have these problems with other older issues I keep It seriously makes me question the odds Ill keep the esub if I cant even view what I paid for if I dont look at it before the next issue releases     Good when it wants to work be on time

I cannot recommend that anyone purchase Sky and Telescope through this mechanism The app is completely useless Every month I cant get to the magazine that was purchased through the store I have to restore purchases and that doesnt always work I tried reinstalling the app and now I cant download my history I would recommend buying another way or maybe check out Astronomy mag to see if their app is better     DO NOT PURCHASE Incredibly frustrating app

I downloaded the app and purchased a one year subscription back in February 2014 through the app I was able to download 9 issues but now The app is not recognizing my account info and not able to login to download the latest issues I called Sky Telescope customer service and they cant find my subscription I sent them the actual email I got from apple and they have not fixed the issue I am VERY DISSAPOINTED     Inapp purchases not working

This could be good app for a good magazine But noooooooo The app fails in the essential role of downloading content You can see what you might access But if you choose READ you end up with a perpetual but pretty blue screen If you choose DOWNLOAD you pop back to the Newstand Shamefully ST seems to have turned its back on the problems previous update was in 2013     Useless and abandoned

Login doesnt work either iTunes keeps charging me but I still have to log in with a sky and t account that is separate and has nothing to do with my apple account I am now going to cancel my digital account since nothing has changed since I wrote the first version of this review Great magazine good digital terrible customer handling electronically I often travel and was looking forward to reading issues on the plane I get mostly broken pages in an issue when I am on the plane with no connection I then tried loading a few issues at home so they would be in the library already In that case I see no covers in the library when I am offline When I click to read one same problem a bunch of broken pages with no way to read them Other magazines I have work fine I have the same problem when I am out in the field away from my home but that is less frequent than trying to read them on the plane This should be a simple bug fix        Works only when online

The app has stopped recognizing my subscription My subscription expires 214 but I havent able to download anything since the October 2013 issue No help from Apple or Sky and Telescope Buyer beware     DO NOT SUBSCRIBE

The app crashes at random and thats when it actually opens which is probably about 1 in 30 Now Ive been going through the nightmare of trying to get a refund but they dont seem to have records of it since I purchased through their app Dont recommend     Doesnt work

Love the mag and the fact that you get print and digital editions but it crashes frequently on IOS 7           Crashes but great mag

Dont digitally subscribe to Sky Telescope unless you want to throw away money I made the mistake of subscribing for a year 3799 and now cannot restore any issues that I want to rereadissues that I paid for Unlike every other magazine app which allows you to redownload purchased issues once you delete a purchased Sky Telescope issue from your device you might as well kiss it goodbye forever I called them twice to inquire First time they said it should be fixed within a few days and just hold tight Called back a few weeks later and this time they blamed Apple Clearly they have no clue what the issue is with their app My full year subscription completely lost Total ripoff     Cannot restore purchases waste of money

Apple should demand that ST get its act together This app is just embarrassing I cant access any of my digital issues for the last two plus years This is consumer fraud ST needs to wake up This is just really bad optics for the brand     Pathetic

Been having problems with this app for the past few months Sent emails to support and they were slow and said they are aware of the bugs This update unfortunately is still poor Spend your money on Astronomy magazine that app works     Still terrible

Magazines will only partially loadno customer service Calling the print edition it is clear that they have outsourced this app and cannot solve any technical issues Id consider waiting on this app until ST has figured out how to operate in a digital world     Less than useless

What a shame A great magazine hobbled by a poor digital offering Example after adding the latest edition to your library you have to open and access every page before its actually on your device to then allow you to read it offline in airplane mode But that only works straight away the magazine doesnt stay local even after doing this if you quit the app so you have to be connected to read your magazine So I download the PDF each month and read through iBooks guaranteed to work As a digital magazine its a terrible implementation it might as well be web based access ST should take a look at some other magazine apps out there to see how to do this done properly since this seems to be something theyre fumbling through right now as a new technology     Clumsy not thought through

I give this app 1 star because I cant give it zero and Id give it zero because it STILL doesnt work For many months it hasnt worked at all and it still doesnt at least as far I can figure out Sky Publishing used to be a strong organization but several things lead me to conclude that theyre really adrift these last few years Sad     Horrid app no better with update
