Sketch Mirror

The app cannot keep a connection with Sketch despite a strong network connection It simply makes this app useless     Cannot keep a connection

I have no issues with the devices recognizing each other but after it loads all the canvas names all I get is the infinite spinning wheel It never renders any of the canvasses to the iPhone How frustrating     Hasnt worked once

Good job now my 720px width Artboard can not fit screen on my old iPhone5 even I try pinch it stupid     Guys Dont update this version

From dropping connection to having issues with crashing I am surprised this made it into the App Store Also had a lot of issues with simple swiping and panning     Low quality bar

Mirror is an essential part of my workflow and its always been finicky With the latest update scaling doesnt appear to work properly for 375px 720px or 750px mocks on my iphone 5s Also Id love for it to not disconnect every time I leave the app for a split second           Scaling issues on iphone 5s

The new version of the app works so so much better Its now an indispensable part of my design workflow Literally every single designer who is designing for mobile needs Mirror Huge thanks to the sketch team for stepping up their game with this app                 Huuuuge improvement

This app would be amazing with some UX improvements and a lot more stability Very odd something this bad came from the company behind sketch In a big office the wifi sync is very unreliable Maybe go Bluetooth Hoping based on the reviews they get the message        Needs A lot of Work

This is amazing Connections happen a lot faster now and the IP address feature is a reliable fallback Indispensable for Sketch users                 Much more reliable

Great concept app is borderline unusable Its one thing to put out borderline unusable apps but its another thing to charge for them     Connectivity is awful

The app claims it scales designs intelligently depending on the device youre viewing on From what I can tell theres nothing intelligent about scaling that pixelates my designs so badly This wasnt worth my 5        Scales Intelligently

I use this app every day and its actually a great addition to sketch But you shouldnt stop developing it there is plenty room for improvements 4 stars for this version is a bit too much but I believe you will get there soon Things to consider better UI for artboards navigation in the current version the only way to keep the flow consistent is to name artboards numbered thats annoying connection process is a frustrating experience within a corporate network I have no idea how to connect it via Bluetooth or usb Yes I saw your prompt its pretty useless because good user experience should be seamless This is not an option to disable wifi setup a hotspot or whatever on my iPhone or iPad figure out how to keep devise connected when user switches apps This is probably most critical issue Encourage you engineers to figure this out there is nothing impossible I used at least 3 similar apps that did it right Live view skala and I guess something from Adobe Good luck              Good start but not perfect yet

When it works this is perhaps the most useful design tool Ive encountered this decade But when it works is about half the time for no apparent reason The wifi network phone and computer location etc are always the same Its just a very temperamental connection Guys please Figure out a cabled solution that doesnt involve hotspots I dont care if it doesnt do wireless and feel free to 1020x the price This feature is brilliant but its just not reliable enough to endorse     Life changing app with a 50 crash rate

I want my money back this is so bad I cant connect most of the time and when I do it drops the connection And you want to charge me 5 for this Apple should pull this from the store     Wow How did you mess this up so bad

Updated July 24th 2015 After having the same issues that everyone else has I decided to do one amazingly stupidly simple thing Check the firewall settings on my wireless router By default my Linksys 1900AC had all firewall settings enabled I disabled them restarted my router and everythings great Try it After using Sketch Mirror for 30 minutes I realized this is an integral part of my design process Im only giving it four stars due to some connectivity issues but knowing how most apps are always a work in progress Im certain theyre working on it              Check your Firewall settings

This app has way too much bugs to cost 499        Please fix this app

When the user flow includes having the user constantly restart the mobile app when it loses connection something is horribly wrong Device mirroring is required in todays design flow and Bohemian is opportunistically gouging you for it with a crap app I wish I could turn to another solution but I cant Stay away if you can     Horrible value

Its funny I would assume if youre working on a iPhone 6 Plus artboard at 1242 x 2208 that Sketch Mirror would understand that that is a 3x size and scale your Artboard to fit the screen Thats how the previous version worked why did it change How is this Intelligent Scaling when I cant even manually zoom out my design to preview it correctly     Intelligent Scaling NOT

Ive followed all of the instructions for getting it to connect to Sketch and it simply will not work Bohemian Support seems like its stalling for developers to get this fixed since they dont have any actionable suggestions Lets hope they fix this soon     Buy yourself a nice latte with your 5 instead

Indispensable app when it works which is almost never Ive rarely used an app which managed to be broken in so many different unique ways     I wish it worked

I love Sketch I use it all the time for all of my design projects and am a huge advocate of the product at my company That being said Im leading Sketch workshops to teach other employees and designers how to use the tool I decided to download sketch mirror to let the audience know how it works with the tool Thats where I wasted 5 Every time I try to connect my phone to my product the mirror abilities crash and refresh so I havent actually been able to see how my designs are mirrored onto other devices Its complete rubbish and a waste of money Ill be letting my audience in my workshops know my sentiment during my session later today as well     Waste of money

Sketch app doesnt see iPhones on the same network so you have to type in the IP every time When you exit the app or switch to a different app your connection is dropped The app knows if its disconnected but it provides no way to reconnect The least it could do in that broken state is show you the IP address again as it does on a fresh start but nope You have to force quit the app and restart it every time Borderline unusable unless those things are addressed One additional gripe though minor The artboard doesnt scale to fit the device width Youd think a 320px wide artboard would scale properly to the device width 640 width at 2x Nope Theres awkward gaps on either side so you dont get a true representation of size This app could be so useful but its buggy and the UX hasnt been thought through as well as it should have Looking forward to an update        Frustrating

My desktop app no longer connects to mirror v333 12081     When is the syncing going to get fixed

Ive had this work on open Wifi but on a protected network it would will not connect Bluetooth connections are flakey with this and USB connections dont seem to work at all        Flakey

Can you please issue bug fixes and optimize I use this app everyday and could save a lot of time if it didnt disconnect every time I minimize it              Helpful when it works

I think the IP address needs to be bigger on the initial screen until you guys integrate a better way to connect sketch with sketch mirror I think finding devices that run sketch mirror on any device in your network then verify with some unique 4 digit code would be great              Some annoying stuff

Thought preview cc was bad turns out sketch mirror is even worse What a waste of time Fail to connect via wifi is one thing it doesnt even work through cable connection Please please fix asap Happy to send logs whatever you need just fix it     Worse than preview cc

This app used to work ok when its connected to my home wifi now its as frustrating as using it in the office Even connecting to the IP address still constantly disconnecting like crazy Im amazed by how horrible you guys develop and QA this app The worst app on my phone Take this app seriously and make this thing work Just because a lot of people are using sketch right now but it doesnt mean this is bearable     Best app So many bugs and no one does anything

Like others have mentioned this is borderline unusable after first launch You have to constantly restart the App and even then looking at different artboards it is totally erratic Bohemian Coding seem like a bunch of awesome people and Sketch is awesome But man Mirror is just crap and should be free if you bought Sketch Even if free it would be terribly disappointing but 5 with no real improvement in the last year Cmon If you are reading reviews thinking to buy it works if you are desperate But be prepared to be very frustrated and kinda hate the developers a bit which is really too bad BC please hire a competent iOS developer to work on this consistently It would really mean a lot to your fans and improve everyones daily design life     Frustrating do not buy Should be free alphaware

Ive used this app with my iphone 5s and its worked brilliantly A few bugs here and there but nothing that cant be solved with a simple restart of the app                 Works Great

Dont update to v13 if you can help it It does add a more stable support but introduces a huge problem with scaling artboards on the phone        Simple effective and very useful when it works

Im not sure what I expected with the 2 star overall review but I figured at 5 itd do more than output my Sketch artboard to my phone Ill echo what others have said disconnects frequently iPhone 6 does not autoscale at 5 it should be included with the purchase price of Sketch app Id like to see Mirror work with any software at that price Sketch isnt my only tool and never could be        Should be included wSketch app

Im only updating this to three stars because Ive found a nice fix to all the issues that everyone is facing This is what you do to get the best performance out of this very subpar app 1 Go into your wifi settings upper right pull down menu and Create Network this will create a device network 2 Then go to your iPhone and join that device network this is under all your other available SSID wifi names that come up on your wifi settings in your settings connect to that wifi It should work VERY well after that because youre creating a direct connection from your computer to your phone also turn off your firewall in Security settings in your Mac preferences If your computer doesnt have an external ethernet cable and by creating a wifi device network youre killing your Internet access this is just a sacrifice youll have to make for performance Best thing to do is to turn on file sharing so your computer will start to act as a router and give you normal IP addresses hope this helps The people who make Sketch should be telling us how to make it work not a random customer who writes bad reviews original review Sketch is a great app but they just seem to not get it when it comes to fixing the bugs that NEED TO BE FIXED I applaud their effort but I shun their choices of where their effort it pointed Why does it take so long to refresh sometimesit DOESNT EVER REFRESH Im not saying you should not get this app Im saying if you dont ming being frustrated to the point of wanting to pull your hair out and shoot yourself in the face while you wait for the images to refresh on a brand new Mac Pro with 32 gigs of RAM then get it Honestly they should be ashamed to make such a crap app           Buggy Slow so frustrating

Why is this even in the App Store Im running the latest app and desktop versions tried with local network computertophone network Sometimes it works mostly it hangs Sketch or does nothing at all     Still Broken

I love Sketch I really do But mirror is extremely unstable and the frequent dropping of connection lack of reconnection ability in the app better never background it and general buggy nature makes Sketch a frustrating experience when it COULD be so magical Please guys fix this thing     Needs serious work

So this IS frustrating that it doesnt stay connected but it does connect and dutifully show your artwork on iOS You can pan through all the artboards in the file you connected from It did disconnect pretty quickly most of the time and then new edits dont show up but you can still show off the artwork it brought in One trick I had to use was if I wanted to see new edits I had to shut down the app on iOS and restart it Then after reconnecting it would always bring something in On the largest artboard it wouldnt let me zoom out but I could always zoom in There are Bluetooth and USB connection options but the USB seems pretty involved with turning on a Hotspot Bluetooth connection from my Mac to my iOS isnt setup and I didnt want to go there Still with all the warnings this is pretty cool capability and Im sure this app will get better           It does disconnect but it functions

Latest update no longer even recognized the IP address rendering the app useless     Has stopped working

I have no problems getting the app to connect to my mac but beyond the initial view it is relatively useless At this rate this thing should be free since it is only useful if you bought Sketch My biggest issue with this is there is no explicit way to refresh the content on the iOS device I find myself having to go to the home screen and then quit the mirror app explicitly so it is unloaded then fire it up again and hope that it picks up the latest version from my computer Its so stupid how can I make small tweaks and view them on the device easily I have apps that I charge half the price for that work 100x better this is embarassing for sketch and I feel like I got swindled     Garbage

This app could be an absolute essential in most UI and UX design process But it has worked one single time And doesnt even register within the Sketch app unless my phone is off Why It shorts out and disconnects my phone is brand new and routers are optimal speed Sketch and Sketch mirror could be 105 stars if all these ridiculous bugs were fixed Extremely glitchy Crashes constantly And barely works For 5 I would expect this to be working AT LEAST 42 of the time but its not even working period Fix this please I would love to use it and give it 5 stars     It has so much POTENTIAL

I never write negative reviews but this app is filled with so many bugs that I had to make an exception Connection is always dropped regardless of network quality To get things up and running the app and desktop app have to be restarted to hopefully get a few minutes of stability I also dont understand why the app disconnects when you switch to another app for a second The iOS SDKs still allow you to maintain a connection while in the background This app is an extremely poor implantation of what is advertised Its so bad that its literally a disrespect to all the professionals that use Sketch Did the developers really expect software at a prealpha like state was OK for release I will always be be fair and honest with my reviews If this app gets fixed I will come back and give it 5 stars But for now that minimum one star is too generous FIX IT please I will provide user feedback to help     Rubbish A disrespect to its users
