Want my money back Has potential to be a really powerful program if it didnt have so many bugs Fix it     Way to Expensive for way to many bugs

This is truly a tool any director should have on a shoot This is a masterpiece that will make the life of preproduction the most enjoyable I have successfully turned 4 incomplete short films that had no planning because I am not a fan of doing all the paper work into a full fledged plan to the very end of production I have even paid for the yearly subscription at 1399 which makes life for my editor easier and a quick way to show my cast and crew what we are doing visually I didnt believe in this product at first but Im so happy I made this purchase If you take your films seriously then I recommend this NOW Happy Shooting                 For Filmmakers of all kinds

Ive researched dozens of apps big and small from celtx final draft and adobe story to little apps like producer and directors notebook if you want to build a list of accurate shots and schedule for your team to nail everything this is the FASTEST and CLEAREST way to do so using the iPad It needs lists for crew and other types of gear but those will hopefully come                 On its way to becoming the epicentre of my studio

You cannot import a script you cant circle a take you cannot add a storyboard if u cannot do anything what is the point of storyboard picture on the iTunes store              No Storyboard No Script Import

I discovered this app on my last project Like Zach describes in his intro video I was making and remaking clunky spreadsheets that were outdated before I walked out the door on shoot day The scheduling shoot day part of the app is excellent with its flexible time adjustments The ability to change one shot and have it adjust the whole day is priceless Another bonus is the customization of fields to show only the info that you need I only have the basic version now but will probably upgrade to the Pro version for better iCloud sync features circle takes and storyboards The only thing thing this app could really use is the ability to create call sheets and directories of crew and vendors If this app could include all of that information a producer would need only one app for everything Definitely watch the tutorial videos before you get started They provide a ton of useful info that will make your life easier and more productive All in all an excellent tool for film makers                 Shotlister is awesome

Whenever I use this app I am so organized All the features are amazing ONLY wish the storyboard integration was built in to thispro version only But without it it would be a hassle without this app                 Amazing

Im in production on my short film and I needed a tool for my shot list This app is awesome most the things that I need in a shot list are right there Making a shot list can be tedious to create but this app makes it easy with its drop down menus It is also great that the lists are easy customizable I havent used the live view to keep track of time but I cant wait to try it out I love that you can email pdf files as well Also there are no bugs in the software that I can tell It operates smoothly                 Great Tool For Film Production

While this is a great little app for anyone shooting video in a production team the fact that much of the funtionality requires an expensive pro version makes it less than great for those of us wanting to get aquainted with it first I suppose there arelots of folks out there that will just sign up But you may want to add it after having we have some time to try it              Nice productPro version annoying

Welldesigned pro quality I had a support question and had an answer waiting for me in my email within a half hour of my initial request It may not always be this fast although it could be too but it bodes well overall about their commitment to quality                 Pro quality and FAST customer support

The app is amazing and super simpler to use I hope they update the tutorials soon to reflect all the awesome changes theyve implemented Oh emailed customer support around 11pm and got a response two minutes later Unheard of                 Amazing

Downloaded latest version I am a new user There are missing icons from the toolbar notably the pencil which allows you to edit apps and the gear wheel that takes you to other settings once you select a project Not certain why this is unavailable and can find no tutorials or documentation on if there is something different about this version than all the others Waiting to see if I get a response from their tech dept        Not complete toolbar

This app is great Its for any filmmaker low budget to Hollywood budget Helps me keep organized and worry less about the shots and more about the actors It also very easy to use You can customize it you your liking Get it it will help you believe me                 Get this app

Although Im not a big fan of their subscription service and I think it is clearly a little overpriced for something they could have just included in the app I still believe this app fills a hole in this category As far as I know no other app can do what this app does for filmmakers For the next update Id like to see if you could add the ability to see the script along with shots Thatd make this app just that much better and if you stick with the subscription plan then it should be included as a feature                 Great Potential

This incredible app takes all the fear and complication out of creating shot lists and scheduling your film The developer has literally thought of everything Obviously a filmmaker himself The Pro option is even better allowing seamless importing from Final Draft and the attaching of storyboards Please make a storyboard app to partner with this                 The reasons iPad was invented

I dont like subscription based features This is stupid Id rather pay a flat fee for the pro version then have it be subscription based I like to completely own things rather then paying as I use it Those pro features are wonderful but Im not paying 20 per year for just that     Like the app BUT the Pro Subscription is dumb

Short and sweet Could easily become the new standard for nextgeneration filmmakers Worth the money some minor bugs but the creators are great about taking and responding to feedback Get this app My background Ive been ADingDirecting films for 6 years Features shorts and music videos More Details worth every penny As an AD I cant tell you how much time Ive lost trying to calculate the answer to that awful question producers ask how far behind are we Now no matter how flipped over and turned around the day is I dont have to waste precious processing power coming up with an answer I just used this app for the first time on a very intense shoot involving stunts VFX SFX etc I worked the entire job from my phone I dont even have an iPad I love this app and I want everyone to use it                 The New Standard

I was told Im wasting my time writing this review But Im honestly fuming First you have to pay 1399 for the app only to have to pay another 1399year just to use the ADVERTISED features Can I have my money back This isnt what I was signing up for Whats the point of buying a shot lister with ADVERTISED storyboard features if you have to pay AGAIN TO USE IT DO NOT BUY     Thievery

Shotlister is an app that truly enables filmmakers to cut the cord on traditional spreadsheets From shot list to scheduling this app encompasses much of what most small productions will need to organize and schedule though the tools are certainly ready for industry use                 Great for Production

Im the director of a new online series called 47 Secrets to a Younger You We just finished principal photography on Season 1 and we used Shot Lister every day The app on my iPad was my bible during production and having it on my iPhone provided a useful quick reference guide I had with me at all times I added our script supervisor she manned the iPad our DP and two producers to the crew so we all had the most uptodate information The storyboard feature allowed me to quickly show the crew exactly what I was looking for and in the order wed be shooting it The ability to switch scene or shot order with a simple touch and have the entire schedule automatically update was invaluable And the app keeping time for you was a great bonus and it was always a nice pickmeup when we looked over and saw that we were in the green on the occasions that happened Love this app and will definitely be using it on my next production                 My bible on set

This is an essential app for every director producer AD and scripty on set I cant live without it The LIVE view is amazing Its pretty smooth and intuitive to shuffle shots and schedules around The storyboard and script integration with dropbox is a huge plus Sharing with other department heads is essential Whats not to love about this thing 5 stars                 Amazing app

I am a very detailsoriented person After purchasing Shot Lister it only took minutes to get acquainted with the app Easy to set up a shoot and get organized On my flight home after a whole day location scouting landed with a shoot all organized and schedule done My producer was super impressed I dont have an iPad and use it on my iPhone 6 I would like the option of picking a smaller font to be able to see more information on a smaller screen but all in all incredibly useful even on an iPhone which is very convenient Highly recommend to all filmmakers                 A must have tool

I recently used shotlister on a shoot and it is a lifesaver When I had talent show up late I was able to quickly rearrange some shots and get back on track And best of all I could refer to shotlister often and see exactly how I was doing with my schedule for the day And Zach is very responsive to emails so I rarely go stuck in setting up my project Thanks Zach                 Shotlister is fantastic

Ive tried other shot organizing apps but this is the only one that works for me I absolutely love everything about it From being able to share the details as I wish them to be shared with crew and clients this app helps to keep everyone on the same pageliterally Also allows for shoot day time tracking which is an outstanding feature It will allow us to determine what to cut reorganizechange to keep the schedule and meet our film goals Took me a couple hours and a few videos to get the hang of it but now it is a breeze Support is so fast made my head spin Thank You Zach I am one happy Shotlister                 FINALLY

I had high hopes for this app but it has a huge fatal flaw After spending over 50 hours all of our hard work was lost After contacting Shot Lister made me feel as if I was crazy I was lying and in the end the loss of data was 100 my fault So unfortunately I am not here to sing the praises of Shot Lister Read on A quick history after breaking down 153 scenes Ready to shoot I injured my knee and was down for 2 months The project was sinked on Shot Listers servers When I came back to it nothing It all vanished it was all gone After contacting Shot Lister they blamed usme Then today I received this email Quote Hi David we been able to isolate the bug that was causing some projects to disappear and have fixed it We had one other person let us know it had also happened to them so along with extending the storage of projects on our servers to 30 days we hope were solved the issue The update is just waiting the App Store approval and will be released probably some time next week Its version 323 Too late for you I know with so much work lost which is really frustrating but you were the first to let us know about it so appreciate that Best Shot Lister In closing Heres some REAL WORLD production advice not short doc or music video Advice But real feature film making ie My last feature was Ang Lees Taking Woodstock You need to extend your server capability far beyond 30 days more like 90 120 even be better To be taken seriously THINGS CHANGE on the fly Time lines get pushed Financing changes Theres a million reasons why 30 days is just a bad idea and bad business If not and you stick with your 30 days which God only knows why you didnt reference this in any of your materials or disclosures So man up tell EVERY ONE OF YOUR SUBSCRIBERS about this issue They deserve to know and I should bill you for my hours lost Very Unhappy     Heartache All Lost Data

I just started using ShotLister on a project of mine and its already a must have tool It definitely streamlines the whole process of not only creating a shot list but shoot day scheduling as well I have not used it on set yet thats coming soon But when I do Ill update to reflect that experience The only drawbacks I can see are a little weirdness in the iCloud sync as of iOS 8 which I cant blame on the developer as Apple revamped the whole deal Unlike many developers theyre not absentee Updates while not often are timely after iOS updates They are very responsive as well having helped me out with a missing project issue in a super unexpected short time frame                 Dang Good

This app was a solid 5 star until iOS 7 Now the scene input dialogs are broken when inputting them from an iOS device I tried it on both my iPhone and iPad and neither worked The only way I could get new scenes into the app was to import it from the CSV template Right now this app is really tough to use When they restore the preiOS 7 functionality it will be awesome again     Was awesome

Great organizing tool                 A must for all Filmmakers

Im a freelance AD and Director and Ive found shot lister to be far and away the best solution for the indie filmmaking The tools available not only emulate the industry standard they give the industry standard functionality to aspire towards Re pricing Im sorry but the only thing outrageous about the cost is that its not more How many people make films How many of those filmmakers have to deal with the schedule directly Now of those few who remain how many have the need to change up their craft with new technology This apps market is about as niche as you get yet it aspires for so much more                 The only Pro tool on the market

This is a pretty cool app It takes a little bit of work to understand it and the workflow But once you figure it out its straightforward I like that you can add a storyboard and theres a calendar function Havent used it on set yet but am using it right now in preproduction              App is helpful future upgrades will be welcomed

Enjoyable app easy to get around but you need a yearly subscription to fully enjoy the app But the rest is usable though              Really Cool

Its a very cool app but it promotes the story board drawing in the picturesit costs 1799yr to be able to use this function Overall ok wouldve went elsewhere had I known the drawing was extra Not worth the extra money when you can get a different app for cheaper with that function           Cool but expensive

This is a brilliant tool to help organize a moderate size film shoot I gave 3 stars because of its Pro in app purchase Not that I mind the 20 but not per year thats borderline abusive to the craft and to those who will really benefit from it           Great Idea but

Finally a user friendly functional practical shot list and storyboard app for the iPad I just learned about it last week wish I had known earlier Thank you to the app developer I know this requires a sizable cash investment as far as apps are concerned but sooooo worth it                 Simply The Best

Oh and one last suggestion the time increments should go up by twos or ones not fives Sometimes shots for indy films take less than 5 minutes Triple Update I think that the glitch was just me failing because the app is a little confusing Double Update Its still glitching FIX PLEASE And also read my suggestions Or maybe I just dont know how to use it Maybe its not a glitch Am I doing something wrong This app is SO confusing Update Ok so the glitch seems to have disappeared Ill give it a 4 star for now However I have some suggestions 1 It would be cool if there was a built in gear packing checklist This would be easy to implement as the gear would already be entered in gear section 2 I would LOVE to have a lighting feature where you could select what kind of lighting equipmentstyle you were going to use If added PLEASE DONT make it a pro feature 3 Could a movie slate be built in 4 There should also be more then one gear slot so you could select multiple pieces of gear Thanks so much reading my suggestions I think they would make this already good app even better I look forward to future updates It has a really annoying glitch where when I try to change the times and lengths of my shots it wont save what I enter If I try to enter 5 minute shoot time it saves it as 34 minutes What the heck Its a great app but seriously I paid 1399 Im a little disappointed Please fix as soon as possible and I will give a 5 star rating              Great potential but

I bought this app to do a music video and now a movie It was easy to use and the exporting features such as drop box worked great when applying changes to the crew I had a few questions on making it easier without becoming a pro member My emails were answered almost immediately Thanks for the app and service Pricey but worth it when using it enough                 Excellent App and Excellent Customer Service

It started working great but when I went to go put in shots for a scene all I got were spinning circles and no storyboards that were already part of the shots Make it work        Worked but then didnt

I love this app but the redesign includes elements from iOS7 like the headers and footer nav of the app and iOS6 like the gradient bars separating content in the center sections Please make the design consistent for one version of iOS           Inconsistent UI

This app is a total game changer It works exactly as described its intuitive and its powerful Worth every penny I bought it for a shoot upgraded to the PRO and then got 4 crew members to buy the app to follow along In like the first 2 hours of using it to AD the shoot Favorite feature you can review storyboards in either shooting order or scene order So if you have shotreverse scenes separated in the shooting order you can attach stills from the monitor view in story order and check eyeline and shot size right there to make sure the shots match GAMECHANGER                 The best filmmaking app Ive ever used

I strongly recommend you buy this app Ignore the people complaining that it doesnt have storyboard unless you pay extra because this app isnt a story board This is a SHOT LISTER For those of you that cant draw this is PERFECT I use this app in addition to a drawn out storyboard and couldnt be happier The scheduling is a life saver Well worth it                 Worth every penny

This is a fantastic app I work in childrens television and we need every possible tool at our disposal when it comes to wrangling our sets given that we are often in need of wrangling children as well It helps keep things organized Absolutely get it I havent had need of the Pro service bundle yet so I cant speak to the functionality but when I do need it I will in all probability purchase the Pro account                 Brilliant easy to use app
