PLEASE NOTE: We are aware of an issue whereby users who previously had unlimited tagging get restricted to 5 tags per month. We just deployed a temporary solution and this limit has been lifted. We are also working on a permanent solution and we will release it shortly. Users who previously had unlimited tagging will continue with this capability.

If you are a new Shazam user you’ll be limited to 5 Tags a month.  If you’ve been using Shazam on your current iPhone/iPod touch since before 9th November 2009, you still receive unlimited tagging.

A note to iPod touch users: Shazam needs to hear the music sample, which means using a microphone (on the iPhone it's built in, on the iPod touch you can attach an Apple Stereo Headset which has a small microphone capsule). Hold the mic towards the music source and Shazam will do the rest!
