The Wars of the Roses for the crown of England have started again: The strategy game classic is now available for iPhone and iPad England, in the 15th century: The house of York, bearing the white ...
There is about 4 to 8 hours of game play in the campaign I have not seen any players online for automatch maybe the game is still too new When I first started playing the game I could not figure out what I was supposed to do which is a cardinal sin in an app I finally worked out that you click on the card once to preview a move and a second time to play that card and that the battleknight resources are spent automatically when your move is onto the other sides pieces The draw deck is hard to find as well since the card backs have dark backgrounds and are drawn on top of a dark background The key mechanic of this game is that you see both players cards so you can maneuver in such a way that your opponent cannot move which is advantageous One thing that would help would be to get help text when you click on various sections of the game Another thing that would help would be if the campaign modes first scenario had a tutorial built into it Once you get past the confusing user interface there is a decent board game here but nothing special I think if you liked the board game you will like this game           Needs tutorial
Its a fun game but I wont be playing for long without Asynchronous online play It would be a 5 star game if this feature was added              Needs Asynchronous Online Play Fun Board Game
Please get rid of the rearing horses they are a distraction Also it would help if after the first tap the selected card was highlighted           Distracting UI
Love the game and love the app I did find one bug however If you tap twice on the discard pile the cards will go back into the players hands                 Great app
The game is great although it lacks a Rematch button when playing via Bluetooth                 Please update
It won the first two games then the next game I was winning and it crashed Same for the one after that crashed Why doesnt it remember where we left off It doesnt make me want to play when it always crashes as I am about to win        Crashing
After reading the introduction its easy to play and not that difficult as it seems at the beginning The different difficulty settings keep the game challenging Quite addicitve Like it              Nice App
Normally im not a fan of strategy games but the rules are simple Also the layout is easy to navigate Good game              Good fun
First the good part the latest update added online multiplayer to an already great game which is a nice addition This sort of IgoHugo game with simple turns is perfect for playing online games with other players from around the world Now the not so good GameCenter integration is horribly broken Leaderboards are not updating achievements are not being recorded notifications of new turns are often delayed by hours It seems clear that the update just completely mseed up this games GC connection Ive rated it four stars its a great game that plays well on the iPad But Id be happy to give it the full five stars if the GC woes are fixed              Nice update but GameCenter is totally broken
The original boardgame is excellent This implementation is good but the AI is too easy to beat for experienced players              Beautiful fun but AI could be improved
Good game with nothing to complain about              Very good
Very original game beautifully implemented whether you play online or the multiple scenarios against the AI                 One of my favorite games
How about some LOCAL STATS Games played Wins Losses Avg win score Avg lose score Avg score overall And WHERE IS THE DIFFICULTY SETTING for the CAMPAIGN Looks like the Gamecenter leaderboard is for multiplayer only COME ON Why not add LOCAL vs AI stats for quick games played and campaign games played Nice game but LOUSY with no stats     Online only stats No local LAME
Yes this is fine except that when the ai is facing unfavorable strategic calls it gives up and stops playing When working this is a good game           Great but
Im a fan of the original board game and am glad to see it on ios Ive only played vs easy AI and it works well The graphics sounds and music are all nicely thematic without being annoying Havent tried multiplayer yet Only room for improvement I see at this time is that the printfont for the rules is kinda small and hard to read But I do love that the rules are presented topdown ie explain scoring before how to play a turn Bravo All game rules should be explained that way                 Well done
Very nice game and very polished and playable                 Excellent
There are no words to express the level of cheats employed in this app Move over Rovio     Dont Buy It if You Dont Have a Human Partner
This game is great when playing against human opponents The game is quick easy to teach and learn and fun for a wide variety of board game players Its also the only affordable way to get an otherwise out of print game I recommend staying away if youre a solo player though The game has 3 AI difficulty levels and the easiest one is nigh impossible to conquer              Difficult AI
This is a really fantastic easy to learn easy to teach a friend easy to play but can be trying to masterthe one player campaign plays nicely and gives you a variety of situationsplays well via hotseat too it just needs asynchronous online play for five stars Get it its a lot of fun              Extremely easy to learn but to master
The game itself is very fun however my game keeps crashing in the first level of the campaign when both players have no moves I dont think it knows what to do so it just ends program If this problem were fixed it would definitely deserve 5 stars for awesome game play and visual presentation           Good game but keeps crashing
This game is boring It is nice to look at but it is not very fun It is basically checkers with cards that dictate your moves A game that charges as much as this one does should be one that I do not want to put down Unfortunately after playing the game a handful of times Im ready to delete it     Boring Dont buy
The rules are very simple and the interface and menu are very easy to navigate No real need for a tutorial as the application lets you know which cards are playable It also counts down the number of playing pieces left as well as the number of heros left to play It also gives running totals for each player so if you cut your opponents group in two their total drops as your rises At the beginning of the campaign I did get bounced out at the end of the first battle but it hasnt done it again Overall it is a great implementation of a unique game with interesting gameplay                 Great interface clear rules great gameplay
Just wish on line multiplayer didnt rely on having two people in the world wanting to play at the same time Other on line games just allow you to set up a game and someone joins later on That feature would help this game out substantially              Simple game to learn
I held off for the longest time as it looked like a game of Othello with cards thrown in some weird waybut having played it is too cool and not really directly Othello related Your opponent and you take turns moving the king via cards with the king depositing a token of that players color Each card lists a direction and a roman numeral from 13 Normally you can only move onto blank spaces but if willing to use one of your 4 knights you also have an option to flip an opponents token over to your side The key tactic is to try to clump as many of your tokens together so that they are connected to one another in an updown or rightleft manner ie diagonally adjacent doesnt count Your knights are your aces in the hole While you usually only start the game with 4 using them strategically to extend overturn an opponent that has placed themselves in the midst of one of your huge continuous territories or just to jump in the middle of one of your opponents biggest territories to break stuff up can make all of the difference Its best to save them into as late of the game as possible although this runs the risk of forcing you to use them in less than optimal ways if their use is the only legal move you have at the moment              Not just Othello with cards
I think there might be a good game here but a very confusing interface has made me give up after half an hour Terrible menu system difficult to understand hot spots Cant tell what is scoring and what isnt Some images swipe but not fully This is an amateurish production Too bad I get the feeling the board game was good and this could be fun on the iPad Maybe they will revamp the interface and menu system in a future version How could anyone think this was ready for sale and at 4 n less        Very poor UI
Believe it              Async would bring this to a 5
