Rick Sammon`s Light It Light!

Loved Rick Sammons Light It Light Filled with instructional videos where Rick shows you how to use ambient lights and flash to take great shots He tries different techniques and shows you the resulting picture Great for beginners like me My only complaint is that it appears hes on the Cannon payroll at times it comes off as a video produced by Cannon But thats just an irritation with an otherwise good app           Great instructional app but needs fewer plugs for Cannon products

The app is let down by some poor advice and risky behavior in the first video we see Rick telling us how easy it is to walk up to a complete stranger and ask them to let you take a portrait Of course it works better if you have a female colleague with you when you walk up to a young lady just like Rick in the video Next we see Rick touching and manhandling this young female stranger to get her into position for the shot I shoot professional models all the time and hardly ever consider laying even a finger on them Ricks blatant grabbing of this strangeri leaves me wondering what would happen if he tried that approach with some young female strangers around here Finally we have him taking a photograph of her indoors with a high ISO setting in ambient light very very flat and unflattering light Nothing here to suggest this is how to shoot like a pro Yes there are some basic lighting recipes in the app that you could employ and adapt to your own style but the overall approach is rushed and the sample images presented generally fall somewhat short of what I have seen my students achieve with similar and very simple lighting setups If you enjoy Ricks passion and energy then by all means get this app but dont assume it will have you shooting like a pro        Poor advice

OK Rick you have got yourself a new fan Great app Actually this is the second of two Rick Sammon apps I bought I will be checking out ALL of your books and other training materials As a teacher I love your presentation style very engaging indeed                 Good Stuff

Especially if you shoot Canon cameras this app is fantastic for spelling out how to use lighting to change a snapshot into a great shot                 Gotta love Rick Sammon

OK its 199 and a deal at that price In a series of videos Rick demonstrates how to get that perfect light on your subject inside outside in a studio with flash etc Rather than diving into theory he take a couple of photos tells you what hes doing and tells you why no complicated theory just practical application of lighting Dont forget to click on the more button that is where about 12 the content is hidden Im a big fan of Ricks books and this app continues in that direction Keep it handy next time you need to light a photo                 Light it Light by Rick Sammon

The instructional videos will not stream even with good wifi avoid it until they fix the problem If I could Id ask for a refund     Bad video streaming

i have a 1st and 2nd generation ipod touch and apple stopped updating the ios for them before 43 so dont buy until you verify your ipod software it is a shame because i was looking forward to seeing this one i didnt have a problem with his other apps Maybe making it accessible to older ipods can be version 22 or 30     warning wont play on all ipod touches
