Welcome to Resuscitation! This is a realistic medical simulator the iPhone/iPad. Resuscitation! gives you a case presentation of a patient who is ill. It is your job to take a history, perform a physical exam, form a differential diagnosis and administer therapy to treat the patient’s underlying problem! It includes real, open source images of EKGs and radiology studies. This app allows you to play the role of an emergency room doctor! Resuscitation takes place in a state-of-the-art resuscitation bay where you have all the tools you need to treat the patient. You can place the patient on a monitor, start IV’s including central lines, perform procedures like chest tubes, administer a vast number of clinically important medications, order radiology studies, EKGs, and even call consultants. Resuscitation! is a very technical medical simulator and is designed mainly for health students and professionals who are interested in emergency medicine. On each case you are scored as student to attending. Resuscitation! may be too advanced for you if you have no medical or clinical experience. But hey, the first few cases are free, so try it out!

Unique fun- a SMART game!

by TIMOTHY MCATEER I almost never write reviews. I think I`ve written maybe two since my first iPhone in 2007(?)... but I wanted to take the time to give high praise for this app.

I downloaded it when I was bored and I`m very glad I did! Rarely do you combine an app which is interesting, fun and informative. While the creators of the app are careful to note that this isn`t designed as a learning tool and is by no means a substitute for medical training, I still feel like I`ve learned a lot. Perhaps designed for nurses, doctors and other professionals in the "critical care" setting, I`ve found that, as a Paramedic, it`s given me a broader view of the treatments that are likely to be rendered in the hospital setting.

If I was to identify any "weakness" I`d say, perhaps as a suggestion, there ought to be a review section which lays out why each intervention is important and what additional information can be gleaned about each specific case from each specific test/intervention.

This is a potentially powerful learning too disguised as a game. Can`t say enough.
