My daughter is a huge reader but also legally blind so a program like read2go is very important to us There are some aspects of this app that are fantastic but others that are extremely frustrating The availability of books especially newer books is great sometimes it works better for my daughter to have the app read to her and that works quite well the voice sounds almost human The text size is also easy to adjust However this app is ridiculously glitchy Either the book randomly returns to the beginning of the book or the last page and it is constantly crashing The only way around this is to add frequent bookmarks to make it easier to find her place again after the inevitable crash So unfortunately the negative outweighs the positive Every time there is a new update I get hopeful that the app will get more stable but it hasn t happened yet             Good selection of books but VERY glitchy and crashes often nevina

Update The only feature change I see after updating is that the reading speed is very slow This developer only updates this app about once a year I don t have any hopes they will fix it any time soon The updates make things worse Old review follows all the issues are still in the app This app is still terrible I will list a few things here that do not work or do not work well in this app Reading a synopsis of the book requires two steps you have to tap on the book title then you tap book details then when you tap back to get back to the booklist it starts you back at the top of the book list browsing through book categories starts you at the very first books added so every time you go into a category to browse you start with the books that were added in 2001 The app does not have a category for the New York Times bestseller list unbelievable I have also recently discovered that when you tap on the latest books category you can only browse through the first 100 there is no way to load the next set of books I have my account set to display 100 results if you ve chosen a different amount you probably only get to see 20 I hate this app They do not seem to care if the users are satisfied with the performance every time I have contacted them in the past I have never gotten any results whatsoever         Do not install this update November 9 2016 Tomcleveland

I decided to check out Bookshare because I was very disappointed that the intermediate algebra math ebook I just paid 135 for from Amazon had been neutered by the publisher So for 19 99 what do you get with this app The ability to have a textbook from the Bookshare catalog read out loud to you while you watch the words scroll by on the screen Since the Bookshare version of the textbook I wanted didn t come with any images I m only getting text read to me So this is why I state in the title of this review that this app is one more tool to use in a learning disabled or visually impaired person s educational plan I have the same textbook recorded in audio that was professionally recorded This textbook and others can be obtained through a nonprofit organization called Learning Ally However Learning Ally provides audio only format for most of their books which is why this app is wonderful to use with Bookshare as a supplement to whatever you re already doing in order to get your textbooks in an accessible format Lastly one thing I don t think it s necessarily made clear in this app s description is the fact that in order to use the app you have to already be a qualified member of the Bookshare program This app was not intended to be used by the general public and if you buy it just so you can listen to audiobooks then you ve just wasted 20                     This shouldn t be your only tool ErikaGreene

This app has been a game changer for so many of my students People have to understand that it is part of Bookshare and you need to qualify due to copywrite laws The app makes it easy and fast to download a book The many options for highlighting changing background colors font etc are wonderful options for those with reading disabilities This app has made it possible for students who have never been able to read a book or textbook to do so It has opened up the world to many Thank you Bookshare                     Game Changer Ms. Fanny

This app is great if you have a Bookshare account but there are several needs for it to be updated First of all they need to fix a scrolling problem You start reading when suddenly it jumps you to a random part of the book And then you need to find your place and restart the app frequently They also need to fix a spelling issue If it was half the price I wouldn t mind as much but when it s 20 to download it then it needs a critical update if it is going to be worth the money             In need of Updating CAHS Student

Updated review 9 2005 Three iPhones and many different iOS updates The app still crashes and randomly goes back to the first page every 10 minutes or so Unfortunately it seems to be the only app that actually shows you text for Bookshare Crashes on iPad and iPhone Some books work better than others but it is a real pain to use I just can t imagine why anyone would give this disaster anything but one star     Pathetic Alaska Piper

I do believe I d rather be stung repeatedly by wasps then have to continue trying to read a book with this app It would be less painful Let me share one problem If I m reading on page 138 for example I try to scroll to the next page and it sends me back up to the same page I scroll down again try to get to page 139 it sends me back to 138 again Each page requires me to try several times to get to the next page and it sometimes works sometimes doesn t I m so tired of trying to read the same page Please address this ASAP To have a toddler scream in my ear for an hour is less frustrating     Bugs and horrible app layout Swede32

I love this app for reading but it s pretty frustrating sometimes I will be reading a chapter and all of a sudden it will bring me to the title page Or sometimes I will be reading and when I scroll it will take me to the next chapter Sometimes when I want to open a book it doesn t even open or it will open to the title page of the book instead of where I left off Also when I need to update my settings for what grade I m in and what school I go to it stopped downloading books it didn t tell me that I need to update my settings it just didn t download it s a great app but it definitely needs some work             Great app but there s a problem Rlaty

I updated my iPad to OS 8 and now the font is stuck at 24 It is too large for the prisms in my glasses to adjust to and it makes me see double so large I have a reading disability no now I cannot use read2go Please fix now     Big problem Unhappy user student

It is quite frustrating to find we can no longer adjust the font size The default font of 24pt is actually too large for daughter We also have the problem of all our books disappearing from our library as well which is quite inconvenient While the audio feature seemed promising in theory we are unable to use it as books are not traditionally narrated in a manner to maintain the context and tone of what is being said The meaning of passages becomes lost due to the choppy nature in which words are spoken This is a convent app and useful tool for my dyslexic children when it works properly             Text no longer adjustable books do disappear and travelpals

I am a special education teacher for a middle school where I work with students who have varied levels of reading disabilities We downloaded this app on several of our devices in order to make reading material more accessible to students However the books keep disappearing Students will go to open the application on their tablet to find that their books are all gone I understand that it is simple to read download the book That is not the difficult part After I get the book downloaded I have to investigate what page they were on and where they were at in that page When this happens it tends to take the majority of the class Leaving no time for actual reading Then add another 12 students on top of that Lastly not all books are separated by page numbers They are simply a long scroll divided by any type of subdivision the book has naturally put in place This increases the level of difficulty to support students in finding where they are act in their reading Please fix I had one student who had an entire queue of books that she wanted to read That list is gone and she is devastated It breaks my heart to see a child who wants hated to read now so sad that the book she was excited to read are gone And she is struggling to remember the titles I would like to continue to use this app but will be forced to look for alternatives if these problems are not resolved             Books keep disappearing A frustrated special-education teacher
