Radical its a great title because that is what will be asked of each readerlistener David Platt will challenge your thinking he will challenge your actions and he will call you to move outside of your comfort zone I have never listened to a book thru an app interface but it is simple and easy to use and best of all it remembers where you left off David Platt challenges the listener to think about simple changes we can make in our own lives that will extend our Kingdom impact For example what if you gave up one Starbucks coffee a day for one month and gave that money to someone in need Simple acts that open doors for you to share He challenges you with understanding the very tenants you believe about your own faith how you live out that faith and how we can be less dependent upon american consumerism We all have clothes hanging in our closet that we might think about wearing years from now the question is what would happen if you just gave them away At the end of the book he challenges you to do the Radical Experiment during a one year period Pray for the entire world great resource Operation World Read thru the entire Bible in a year Sacrifice your money for a specific cause or organization we usually give of our excess convenient easy this challenges us to forgo something we want to give to someone who needs it more Spend your time somewhere where you normally would not overseas missions homeless shelter etc Commit to multiplying people who will enter the Kingdom reach the broken and the lost If you take the Radical Experiment to heart imagine what God could do in and through you This book will rock your world Be expectant Be transformed Be ready for God to use you                 Becoming Radical

David Platts book Radical Taking Back Your Faith From The American Dream was one of the bestselling Christian books of 2010 In my opinion it is also one of the most important Platt reminds us that the American church has adopted a belief in a safe comfortable Jesus Its a Jesus that would never ask us to do or say anything that would take us out of our comfort zones Its a Jesus that would never demand that we make sacrifices in order to follow Him Unfortunately this Jesus is NOT the Jesus of the Bible The Jesus of the Bible demands that we leave behind everything take up our cross and follow HIm Platt urges American Christians to love Jesus and the lost more thanwe love our own comfort He encourages us to return to a radical Christcentered dangerous faith This is a challenging book that will force you to thinkn about what you love morethe Jesus who saved you or your own comfort Theapp itself is great The book is read well by the author The readings are broken up into chapter headings which makes it easy to find passages that you want to hear again and there will be many of those To me the best part of the app is the Notes feature which allows you to record your thoughts on different ideas presented in the book With a book that is as thoughtprovoking as this one thats a great feature to have In short I recommend this app to any Christian who wants to be challenged to think deeply about his or her faith Very well done                 Radical ideas great app

Without a doubt one of the most important not to mention one of the bestselling books of 2010 was Radical Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream by pastor David Platt Anyone familiar with Platts ministry will find nothing new in this book but certainly the message itself needs to be heeded We need to return to the gospel of Jesus Christ and be the soldout disciples that He has called us to be Unfortunately that message is what is radical Christians acting like their Lord Aint that radical Platt calls us to a life of abandonment a life of selfsacrifice service and submission to our Lord This ought to affect every aspect of our lives and our anemic religion duties arent enough It takes more than church service to be this sort of Christ a ChristChristian I cannot overstate the importance of this book and how its publisher and others have made the book available in a variety of ways including paperback fairly priced audio book special deals on 10 packs and now An iPhone app I cannot think of a better book app to have than this one The message of radical is imperative for our American church today The folks over at christianaudiocom have given us a great app well worth our investment The app is the audio version of the book read by the author itself which is my preference But beyond the audio the app includes a full biography of the author plus the ability to add notes about what youve read and to skip to whatever chapter you want For an audio book app this has all that you want and the fact that the book is one of the important to come out of evangelicalism in some time makes it a must have I strongly encourage everyone with an iPhone to invest in this app and to invest in this book Listen to the audio available from this app andor read the book for yourself I am thankful that the folks at christianaudio are making such wonderful works available this is the third app I have downloaded from them                 Radical IPhone App

The book is excellent However as far as I can tell the only way to pick up listening where you left off is to remember what chapter you were in and restart at the beginning of that chapter Until that is fixed I would buy the iTunes version Also I would like to be able to see the written text and listen to the audio not be limited to just one That would provide a benefit over the iTunes version           Book is great App needs work
