Clever story variant on the Qix gameplay concept where the primary goal is to isolate capture the planet instead of capturing a majority of the playfield But capturing most of the screen and killing all on screen enemies is required to earn stars to unlock additional levels Thus the game challenges you to earn coins to upgrade your ship no longer a cursor as in the original to outmaneuver turrets fireballs and plasma The QIX itself is unfortunately relegated to boss status only Performing well ok levels earns stars to unlock sanctioned sections of the map Once you get the hang of it the gameplay can get addictive and fun then it all comes to an end The in game characters and story add little to the gameplay especially the ending But the puzzle challenge of several of the levels is worth your time if you re a fan of this Taito arcade classic Future Qix in Space DeviantMan
