It does exactly as stated with no frills If youre curious about comparing prices of things over time this is the tool And its free Complicated math simple app
Some calculators arent current enoughthey may stop at 2011 for example but this one doesnt go far enough back in time The data exists but maybe not in the particular database used There are plenty of inflation calculator apps as well as online available with a longer period of time going back to the early 1800s This has averages so what it does have may be more useful than some others if youre looking for quarterly averages Only goes back to 1913
