I bought a PogoPlug device and lifetime service several years ago which allowed me to remotely connect to an attached USB storage drive via a PC web browser or from a mobile iOS device via the PogoPlug app It worked well for a few years but then the company started steering everyone to their cloud storage services It seems they could not keep up with the competition with the cloud services and they have discontinued cloud services as of 11 30 17 They state that this will not impact remote access devices but I cannot get the mobile device apps to work at all since downloading the latest app update Also when I login through the browser service it takes about 15 minutes to even bring up a usable screen and then I still cannot get to my stored files I m ready to scrap the PogoPlug device and attach the storage drive directly to my PC This company may still have a heartbeat but it is essentially dead     Don t waste your time LuvsRedBeaver

I have used for several years At first it was great But the past year or so it has become VERY unreliable At times doesn t recognize my drive slow to retrieve files and recently the logon failed UPDATE Dec 2017 Cannot access my files I have a Pogoplug device with storage attached Support keeps referring me to their help data base I have had these issues before it s on their end I pay for this service Going to cancel and find a more reliable service     Unreliable Racebrat88

UPDATE I bought a physical hardware device back in about 2009 then bought a Lifetime Unlimited Cloud storage plan I ve had troubles ever since PogoPlug switched to software Cloud based storage Only small pieces of my data is there The company keeps telling me I need to subscribe even though I bought a lifetime unlimited plan Cost a lot too Can t access my pics 3 4 of my stuff isn t showing up I can only log in occasionally I can t recommend this company nor this app I think it s a scam Don t use it You ll be sorry like I am Original post I was hoping the reviews were wrong however they seem to be right The app doesnt seem to work very well and when it does it is VERY slow I have my Pogoplug box hard wired to a T1 connection I am trying to view small Jpegs but it either takes forever to display or I get a connection error I have tried viewing on iPhone 3GS iPhone 4 iPad 1 2 also on my Pc and MacBook pro Not a lot of luck Great idea tho I hope the developers fix all this soon It would be a great device Also none of the people I have shared files pics or movies with have been able to view ANY of the files Sad Please fix and I ll change my rating Only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 1 is a few times I did get it to work and it was great slow still but great A Lot of potential But not there yet     Not really working scam Don t use sgranlund

Pogoplug at least all of their current consumer services is 100 dead Fortunately I was a user of one of their devices and not a cloud user My device became a useless brick Cloud users who paid for storage with them lost everything they had in the Pogoplug cloud if they didn t get it downloaded quickly enough when they announced their complete shutdown as a surprise in late 2016 Stay far away from Pogoplug for all your cloud and or local storage needs It is either a worthless unreliable incompetent company or a completely defunct company that just hasn t announced it s going under yet Or both     Pogoplug is dead avoid at all costs dgp1

I really like pogoplug for iphone iPad to backup photos to your own drives personal cloud For Windows and Mac users the backups are real time background and user defined I have some directories that I always want to have backed up all the time and this is the ONLY program I ve found that does it I thought Cloud Engines was shutting down in December 2016 and was very disappointed I m glad their system is back Support Cloud Engines or whoever is maintaining the Pogoplug service Great program                     It s back up and looks good as of Jan 12 2017 Dr.T-92677

I can t seem to find any of my pictures via remote with my iPhone 7 plus I have reloaded the software and app still no photos found Hopefully an update can be ran to fix I have been using since about 2013 and it worked well not sure what happened this time         NO PICTURES RAIDERVVV

I have been using Pogoplug since 2013 Recently Pogoplug warned customers that the Free cloud would be discontinued BUT it would not affect those of us with Pogoplug devices First of all I have subscribed to unlimited storage for many years and it is not free I pay for my subscription When Pogoplug first announced that the Free Cloud would no longer be available I felt that I would not be effected because 1 My service is not free and 2 I have a Pogoplug device Nonetheless I sent Pogoplug Support an email subject line Frantic stating that I was going out of the country so I needed urgent clarification that my files would be safe since I have a Pogoplug device and my Cloud service is not FREE NO response from Pogoplug I didn t worry too much as all subsequent emails from them stated that this would not affect those of us with devices when I checked my files were intact Pogoplug then announced they would be extending the deadline for discontinuing their Free Cloud service but stated again it would not effect those of us with Pogoplug devices Again I emailed Support asking for clarification NO response I just got my credit card bill the credit card Pogoplug has on file and I was charged for my Pogoplug Personal Backup Annual Subscription for the upcoming year My Pogoplug is set for automatic backups but I thought I had better check No files error message stating Destination drive is unreachable no way to reconnect my device to Pogoplug error message saying I need to connect it to my own hard drive what So I am using Pogoplug to back up my files to my own hard drive I have Time Machine so why would I back up more files to my own hard drive If it is simply a file management device I can do that with my Dropbox storage I have been emailing Pogoplug steadily since Dec 29 asking for help all I get are automated responses stating they have received my request They go on to ask for more info re my OS browser etc which I have sent to them as they instructed and amazingly in the same email they state the ticket is closing and I can get any information I need from their robust Knowledge Base There is no Customer Service phone number no Live Chat no real time assistance they claim is available on Facebook because the link is dead All FAQs and Knowledge Base is dated pre discontinuation of the Cloud service and in fact most of the information is dated around 2014 with a few dated 2015 Unbelievable Not only would I stay away from the app I would advise against using the company in any capacity if for no other reason than the poor customer service     No customer support no files Memalyn

The current version is completely broken with no remote access It looks like they are forcing me to a subscription but cannot tell for sure Bottom line is you cannot trust that you will have access to your files Also if there was any history of reliability it might be different but there has not been one Argh     Broken Again Skidoctor

Service has declined terrible over the years I have a pogo plug V 4 and it won t even recognize my 1tb HDD anymore It s been running fine for years and then it just stopped I plug my HDD into my Mac and it sees the drive just fine and my files are still there but as soon as I plug back into pogo it doesn t see anything Terrible     Pass xiaodedraco

The previous version of the App was much preliminary with frequent shutdowns and failure But the latest version is much better and syncing consistently I would definitely recommend it                     Wonderful online backup without breaking your wallet Mnaveenis
