PodCruncher Podcast Player

When you reach 50 podcasts the main view gets cluttered and difficult to sort Really needs folders to make sorting easier Older Ive tried most other podcasting apps but they all fall short when compared to this one Would love to see the ability to add folders and move selected podcasts to them This will be a great aid with keeping podcasts sorted              Pls add folders for sorting

The app used to be good but the bug with the search has left it unusable for me Switching to another app ASAP        Bugs

Im looking for an Instacast alternative because their parent company shut down fairly recently Ive downloaded 5 paid podcast apps Downcast Pocket Casts Castro Podcruncher and Overcast and still cant find one as good as Instacast I WANT to love Overcast but lack of streaming and being unable to organize episodes that Ive listened to upon importing them and separate them from episodes that I have not yet downloaded is a huge deal breaker Yes the app is pretty But it cant do basic functions that allow you to determine what you have listened to or not listened to Not to mention you can only download episodes and not stream them With more features Overcast would absolutely be the best podcast app around like everyone online is saying right now But as of right now it doesnt function for me as a podcast manager Not at all Pocket Casts and Downcast and Podcruncher work okay but have some interface quirks check out the version history for each app in the App Store to see how often the apps has been updated and maintained Podcruncher hasnt been touched in like a year At least all those actually manage podcasts unlike Overcast Castro was also too limited in functionality and didnt work well for me because of that But it did look nice They have apparently been working on Castro 2 for like six months now Summary Downcast and Pocket Casts are worth a try now Overcast is also worth a try but is so limited even after purchasing the upgrade of premium features Podcruncher is somewhat out of date cant swipe left side of screen to return to previous screen Castro is okay but limited Wait for Castro 2        Meh hasnt been updated

The podcasts are easily accessible and customizable with the user friendly interface                 Excellent app

Hey guys love this app Ive used it for over a year and besides it occasionally crashing or refusing to load a podcast requiring restart its awesome Lately though theres a little bug thats annoying The search bar in the Add screen little plus sign displays directly overtop of the AllTitleAuthor toggle You cant really read it and its difficult to search Also and this isnt a bug so much as an annoyance if the search bar could autoclear after returning to it from elsewhere in the app thatd be great Usually I hit the plus sign and search and start typing so quickly I dont even realize Im typing at the end of my last search phrase and I have to take the time to clear the search bar and retype Its a little thing but its annoying for someone who uses the app on a daily basis              Love it but small recent bug is driving me crazy

On a couple of occasions Ive seen PodCruncher refuse to download any further episodes from podcast The only fix is to delete and readd the podcast or even export the list of podcasts to OPML then wipe and reinstall the app           Good but need to wipe and reinstall occasionally

Does everything I want it to everything it should do The app is also much smaller than the iOS podcast app storagewise                 Much better than the stock Podcast app

Love the app and use it every day for several podcasts The search bar overlaps with the All Title and Author tabs and make sit difficult to typereadsearch This is a such a basic simple function thats essential to everyday use of the app so it gets 35 Fix it and it earns 55           Great all big bug

Ive been using this app for many years now and there is no doubt that this app is the best podcast app around The only complaint I used to have was the UI looked a little bland but thats fixed 5 Stars                 Podcast listeners essential app

The last few iOS updates have made Apples Podcast app unreliable and nonfunctional This app is solid reliable and fairly intuitive Great solution thank you                 Much more reliable than Apples native Podcast app

The Apple app keeps having issues with playing downloaded podcasts which is maddening when you on a long plane ride and nothing you downloaded will play So I tried this It works great Not sure why apple wont fix its app there are endless complaints about this on the support site but who cares this works Now if I could only delete the apple app              Simple and it works

Works great and I like that is has top charts by category I just wish you didnt have to subscribe to a podcast in order to download a single episode                 My preferred app for podcasts

Use the app every day really like it Bug 1 the search screen is broken on iPhone 5s the search bar is obscured by the search picker Bug 2 played items are being played again in case the items are in the playlist              Great app Please fix some bugs

I tested dozens of podcast apps and this one is the best It does everything I want EXCEPT time for an Apple Watch version team              Love this app

Shames Apples podcast player and has some very cool features But best of all just does what you tell it to Lose that Apple player and come on board                 Best pod app period

Podcasts that Ive downloaded randomly stop playing It doesnt matter if Im doing something else on my iPhone 6 or not Today it stopped playing and no matter how many times I hit the play button it wouldnt start again           Last update causing issues

Since Apple has begun to push cloud apps like iTunes movies and podcasts have become extremely confusing I find that whether or not I subscribe or intend to put actual content on my phone more often I see that stupid little cloud with the arrow signifying that I can only pull it down over the air This application has a perfect workflow and makes it very obvious and clear whether or not the podcast will be synced down and how Instead of the hazy Apple solution where hopefully you have WiFi at the time this trough a demarcation between WiFi and your mobile provider bandwidth Something that Verizon customers will appreciate I also think it does a better job of managing the space on the phone By time I figure out how to force the Apple application to save it on the phone Ive overdone it and I find its taking up too much room There are too many too confusing options in the Apple workflow Just use this one you will not be sorry I have sprint all my podcasts are done real time in other words I just pulled them down off the air with my phone band with my provider bandwidth Since most of these are MP3 I have never had to pause due to network conductivity issues despite many of those                 Much better than the Apple podcast tool

Seems to be a very good app As many have already said it just works Couple of feature for the developers consideration though When an episode is deleted make a way to add it back into the available lineup instead of having to unsubscribe resubscribe to that podcast Apples podcast app does a pretty good job of this with the feed button where all episodes can be seen selected even after they are deleted Currently just mark as played or Delete Media File for downloaded episodes instead of deleting if anyone hasnt figured this out is wondering This will keep it in the lineup Also an EQ would be nice Peoples voices as well as recording equipment vary greatly An EQ would add the ability to tweak the sound so its more understandable on some of the less than stellar podcasts Overall though GREAT JOB              Very Good

I loved this app Worked better than any other podcast app Ive tried But there are so many little bugs now and the developer is not responsive at all to bug reports volume goes up and down when the iPhone plays email notification sound search screen has the text fields overlapped so you cant search by anything except show name when watchinglistening at 1 12 speed show will randomly jump ahead 15 seconds over and over Formerly great app Needs refreshing        Used to be great no updates in a year

This app works well Its consistent and easy to use                 Very happy with it

I like the customizable fast forward and rewind buttons Its nice being able to listen to the podcast streaming or online But I would really like is to be able to rearrange my podcast list instead of having them be in the order I downloaded them It means that some of my favorite podcasts are always at the bottom and any podcast layout on top of that just get piled on top              Great app but could use a little improvement

Simple to use highly refined and much better than the Apple podcast app The developer just needs to extend this app for use on the iPad so it respects orientation of lists when iPad is turned landscape portrait and then all the bases will be covered This app beats the stock apple product by a mile Highly recommended                 Excellent

This used to work fine Starting spring 2015 severe bugs prevent it from seeing details of any episodes of many podcasts even though it sees the total episode count per podcast Author no longer responds to help request emails Zero stars     New bugs killed the app

Ive been listening to podcasts for years I continued the hunt for the best podcast app Wanted one that would track my favorite podcasts but would automatically done load Had to be fast and easy to use and had to work well This one is it Havent searched again since I found this app                 Tried several this is the best

This is the app for people who actually listen to podcasts I dont know why Apples podcast app is so terrible but i dont care because this solves all the problems                 Far better than Apples podcast app

Id been a Stitcher user for literally years and they finally drove me away from their service with all the ads they plugged into the feeds I didnt want to pay 25 a year to get them to stop torturing me with the highly repetitive ads So I switched Podcruncher has all the functionality I need at a reasonable onetime price I couldnt be happier                 Happy I switched

This app has been cutting out portions of the podcasts I subscribe to Yesterdays was almost 10 minutes missing from the middle of it has started happened regularly        Bugs

This app is ok It is way more reliable than the Apple podcast app as far as actually playing things when I try to listen to them however the interface isnt as streamlined I like that the official podcast app has the option to move podcasts up or down in the grid view design depending on which is your favorite or most listened to I also wish this app had two views for each podcast what you have downloaded and what you havent Having 700 that you have to scroll through on some to find what you downloaded is a bit irritating At least it has been more consistent on playback              Its ok

Worth the money It has never once crashed on me in the six months since I purchased it Love this app                 Hands down THE BEST

1 The UI looks like garbage on an iPhone 6 Plus screen Everything looks super blown up Come on guysits been almost a year since the 6 plus came out 2 When I search for podcasts I cant even see the search bar because its overlaid on top of another screen 3 I cant swipe right to go back to the previous screen when Im on the player screen Instead it skips forwardbackward which is totally counter intuitive 4 Select a podcast feed and try to swipe left to delete an episode Everything suddenly shifts up try it and youll know what I mean I just payed 3 for a podcast app that is worse than the stock iPhone podcast app Im taking the time to write this review not to slam your app but to hopefully get you to improve it     No iPhone 6p support

I started using this app when Apple forced podcasts out of iTunes and into their terrible buggy podcast app long time ago Totally happy with it and it continues to improve                 Simply works

The only app I keep on my phone all other apps are useless Podcruncher is god                 Killed it

I have used the native app and A few others This is simple and too the point I love this one I think there should be a log in process so that your podcast are saved But I guess its ok I occasionally email my podcast file to my email Then I save that to a folder in my Dropbox I know that sounds like a lot of work but its just a few clicks                 Love this

Unlike Apples offering this really works It offers the flexibility of downloading a listening offline Its easy to use and does everything I can ask Thanks for this app without it I wouldnt be listening to Podcast anymore                 It works

I like this podcast player Its a step above the standard when what you get with Apple Syncs are good and you can tweak it to work wirelessly well with your integrated car stereo                 Works well and is updated regularly

I love podcruncher It works so much better than other iPhone podcast apps I would like to see the ability to redownload a deleted app Ive learned to be more careful when deleting But this is as small annoyance compared to the superior functionality of this app                 Great functionality stable
