Find yourself something more intuitive and in line with typical calculator functions I don t like the New entry line I like to have all calculation that I performed moment ago on the screen As an engineer I am using TI 89 Titanium but I downloaded this calculator for situations where my TI is not handy I am rather disappointed     PocketCAS glider_driver

Disclaimer I m not particularly well versed in either higher math or calculators these are just my amateur opinions This app is amazing in its ability to perform mathematical operations notably 3D graphing Because of its being an app it taps into your smartphone s processor and touchscreen making it a much more user friendly alternative to say what the TI Nspire tries to accomplish I don t actually own the TI Nspire by the way I m merely relating to a video I saw on YouTube by VBlogMag that does a fairly good job reviewing various calculators what I mean by that is that when panning and zooming on a graph either 2D or 3D there is zero lag and I really do mean that I experience no noticeable lag obviously there is some lag due to the limitations of computer processors but that s beside the point In fact I d say that the dedicated calculator with the closest comparable performance that I have seen would be the HP Prime Graphing Calculator again I don t actually own it I just saw the review by VBlogMag But now we re comparing an app that costs a couple of dollars to calculators that range from 120 140 Undoubtedly there are advantages to owning the dedicated calculator For example actual keys are nice to have and I m sure there are some more in depth functions with possibly a slightly more streamlined operation but this app is quite close to the point that I would argue that it s down to personal preference about how one likes their calculator s operating system to work As an additional bonus I have never to this date experienced any bugs myself although it seems that other people do On the upside the developers offer updates bug fixes and performance improvements frequently enough to be helpful and encouraging that if you do find a bug they ll be right on it In a nutshell I would seriously recommend trying this app out to see if it could work as a potential alternative to an 130 dedicated calculator One could use this smartphone app in almost all scenarios in which one could use a HP Prime Graphing Calculator or a TI Nspire because rarely are those dedicated calculators allowed in tests                     Well Worth The Purchase NumberphileFan

I have used mathematical modeling throughout my career to forecast manufacturing throughput This application is so much more versatile to the developing of models than a spreadsheet because it allows you to compare different components of the model in the same graph and make hypothetical changes by simply using math The iPad version takes this application to a new level I can now carry a mathematical laboratory with me to the field to make changes or adjustments which will synchronize with the cloud so that I can continue my work in my Mac                     Fantastic Account-0001

Pocketcas is quite useful for certain calculations and graphs It is limited by a slightly clumsy interface and some non intuitive nomenclature It has more of a feel of a programming language than of an advanced graphing calculator An example I just used was a piecewise function Instead of f x the program uses a when statement The graph displayed is not entirely correct for piecewise functions either including connecting segment that should not be continuous It is very useful though within limits pun intended             Ok helpful within limits Math teacher in WA

Easy to use has everything I have wanted lately I use statistic distributions calculus and triginometry many things as I tutor math up to cal 3 and differential equations Partial fractions gave correct results It was convenient to pop in a derivative to check my memory of identities I also like how you can keep separate pages with editable history It was worth the ten bucks to me                     Good the unread

I have PocketCAS on my Mac Mini and IPhone 5S It can do many calculations very easily and makes nice graphs I encourage the developers continue to improve on the app The integral of x x did not come out right Trying to sum 1 k k 1 1000000 didn t finish with limits of my patience Perhaps I did not do it right or perhaps it is a design issue Still I like the app                     Very good Victim_12jan2014_mad

Delivers what it promises I m reviewing calculus and it has proven to be a great help I wish I had it when in college It might not be as powerful as some of the math programs for the Mac or PC I have wxMaxima on my Mac but it s ease of use and portability iPhone makes it a good choice It also helps that it is document oriented you work say the exercises of a chapter you are studying and when done just save it under a meaningful name                     Excelente app cae12

Amazing It finds the answer to the integral 1 x 3 1 x 0 Wolfram could not do that One thing I really like about this app is how it allows you to create documents consisting of calculation steps plot steps or script steps which can be saved imported or exported In any step in a document the variable Ans always contains the result of the last calculation so for example you can have pocketcas differentiate a function in x in a calculation step and follow with a plot step that plots Ans to see the graph of the derivative Also any step can be duplicated which saves a lot of typing when you want to do similar things On graphs of functions you can easily zoom in and out display x and y coordinates while moving along a curve and see a table of coordinate points that belong to the curve It works very well with complex numbers and symbolic calculations It is easiest to use on an iPad but I ve had no problem using it on my iPhone                     Excellent math app Theepicdude59

Going beyond iOS and creating a Mac version is the thing that takes this app to the great level It s one of those Why didn t someone do this before things And instead of just duplicating the iOS version they went above and beyond and added support for things like the new Toolbar on the new MacBook Pro laptops All of the above tells me that the apps are indeed from good and most importantly ACTIVE developers Oh and just to say it if you couldn t tell by now I think the iOS app by itself is great And in this retired developer s humble but also correct view if you do happen to hit the All Versions button on the review page please ignore the VERY old reviews They re almost 5 years old and have almost no relevance to the current app People are VERY quick to vent about any problem but rarely go back to update their reviews when the problem is fixed I d like to meet these perfect people who never make mistakes and are so VERY quick to throw the first stone By leaving these VERY old reviews people can get a VERY wrong impression of the current app and also of the developers I ll just say especially for this VERY great app please read the CURRENT reviews In other words You WILL NOT be disappointed Thank you VERY much to my fellow developers which is my only connection They really do seem to care about their work and giving us QUALITY products                     A macOS Version as Well as iOS AppReview_NOT_CostReview

Spent a bit of time playing with this on my iPhone and my feelings are as follows 1 The app is really powerful and can handle all sorts of stuff including scripting and complex formulas You also have to read the manual carefully a because it s completely unintuitive 2 It s a bit too much for the iPhone This type of setup would be great on the desktop but the app is not really designed for mobile It s almost too powerful and too complex for iOS devices 3 There is no way to quickly adjust the parameters of an expression It would be really nice if there was a slider where you could quickly adjust the values of certain parameters 4 The keyboard needs work Having to switch between the system keyboard and app keyboard is kind of annoying 5 Support seems good so far Daniel has been helpful in answering my questions             Powerful but rmsutton

Fantastic feature set And the means for entering equations is excellent I agree with others that it needs an instant calculation option Suggest that there is such a setting where the result of the calculation is shown iteratively while writing a script At each press of Return show the result With this option disabled the app would behave as it currently does This should be simple to implement and would make the app complete Would also like the ABC keyboard to hide and return to the calc keyboard when pressing Return                 Excellent but needs an instant feedback option Rm787
