This program is incredible with the functionality but super buggy The wizard function which allows you to step enter a melody with which the program quickly develops editable options for chords would be incredible If it worked It doesn t appear that this app is being updated but hopefully they will reexamine the code as this would be very cool if it actually worked I love the knowledge shared here brilliant and quick re harms The program is free but any useful non vanilla chords immediately set you back in app purchase That being said its a fair price of the app actually worked considering the quality of the material The program randomly quits or worse changes a progression in the middle of the edit options Sometimes it sounds as if the chords are slipping a half pitch to a different key which makes the selection impossible I hope they can get it together         Incredible Harmony Terrible Integration mickswagger

I m gonna give it 2 stars for concept that s where my praises end UI is messy at best out of the box it s just a glorified chord dictionary No sounds counterintuitive expensive as hell It s been a recurring problem with patent music apps they want to charge u for the patent they filed to protect themselves Just with adding midi capability and unlocking the chord voicings alone u are looking at 112 the ebook explaining the theory cost 30 and they don t tell u the price in app so if u assume its 5 u re in for a rude awakening Great concept poor execution         Patent pending in description nuff said Rayato

This app is designed to help you add advanced harmonies to your music speciffically in the Gospel Jazz Soul and R B genres It can be applied to other musical genre s with your own creativity I could also imagine additional harmony packs being released for this system such as Progressive Rock however they have not been released yet Right now there is only one Artist pack and it is a Fusion of Gospel and lite Progressive Rock a Tritone pack which is useful for the Gospel and Funk genres the Black Gospel pack and the Jazz pack You have to purchase Midi support if you want to hear the chords from within the app There is also a music theory course explaining the genres to purchase within the app but it is not a must To really make this app come alive you need to purchase at least the Black Gospel and Jazz add on packs which are 50 dollars each The more supplemental packs are worth around 10 dollars each In addition Midi support to hear the chords and to export saved progressions is also 10 To use this app you enter in the Major Relative Major key of your song Key of C would mean C Major A Minor for example You would enter in a base note which is mainly used for your intended chord Bass note C would usually give you a useful C Major chord variation and so on You could also enter in a Melody note which would only include chords including that note The melody section is best to use if you have written a melody but want you want to include a supplemental chord progression You can use the Bass and Melody note sections together It is my personal preference not to The Chords section is the bread and butter of the app After you have entered in the basic information it will give you a chord along with a suggested chord voicing used speciffically in the genre For example if the Black Gospel chord group is turned on will probably give you a chord such as C11b5 5 along with a common piano voicing used in Gospel With the Black Gospel group it is very easy to create an authentic sounding Gospel or Soul based chord progression Jazz was also very accurate A combination of the groups gives out a very Stevie Wonder esqe Neo Soul sound The notes don t need to be followed exactly It all depends on your creativity Chord progressions can also be saved with some preset songs available if you have purchased the appropriate packs Also any combination of the packs can be turned off I seriously would ve given this 5 stars if it wasn t so expensive The harmonies given are incredible This would be an excellent to for anyone interested in these genres and I can see this app expanding with time An annoying con however some of the musical terms are a little inaccurate For example a 13sus chord will be suggested when I believe a 13sus4 is the appropriate term I ve also never seen a b5 5 chord used anywhere else even if the sound itself is accurate             Unbelieveably Expensive but Useful to the Right People Aboutaso

So before buying I tried the free version Tried this Key of C C in bass G in melody Resulting harmonizations C major C major 9 C major 9 add 6 OK fine Then tried Key of C D in bass F in melody Resulting harmonizations None Nothing Blank Silence Is this a John Cage progression or what And now I m supposed to pay 9 99 for sound probably somewhere between 9 99 and 49 99 for a set of chords that includes at least a D minor probably in order to hear the ADVANCED features No No faith     Um what KD Jones

It s not free if you have to buy everything just to use it On top of having to purchase a 10 00 dollar add on just to hear it In order for that to work you have to purchase an additional midi backgrounding app to use it without a midi set up I would have rather paid a set fee known what I was getting into and have everything work once I purchased it rather than get something that says free and after an additional 20 dollars in I m still missing an app to hear VERY DISAPPOINTED     Very disappointed wish there was an option for 0 stars Tonybx4

I just downloaded the Core MIDI add on and the program works just fine with Thumbjam So basically I just got my own personal co writer arranger for under 20 I m sold I will for sure get some other add ons in time I can see where they will be worth the investment                     Great program Bohemien117

Love this app For those who are finding it a challenge to make your Chord Progressions more advance this is the app for you Especially if you are the only musician playing in a Church setting or for any genre of music I took a simple song or a hymn and utilized the melody notes to see what chords I can use to replace the basic Major Minor Chords I IV V etc Listen to your Chord selections with your midi program over and over until you hear what you like go to your Keyboard or Organ and replace your basic Chords with your new options The PDF Tutorial is excellent What app has provided such detail instructions when you purchase an app This is not just a music app This is a Tutor at your fingertips at all times I have tried Organ Plus Prokeys and Thumbjam apps with the Piano Harmony app I also have the Line 6 midi II midi interface They all have their own advantages There is something for everybody to choose from Thanks for your vision                     All Musicians Nerakwms-(KW)

Helps me to learn some very nice chords and chord progressions If you want sounds on your Ipad go get the Thumbjam app put it in backgroud then open this app and and it will trigger the sounds in Thumbjam Sweet Wish I could find a way to record my progressions on the Ipad Maybe A great update for this app would be to make it Core midi to work with other apps or make it so you could record you chords or progression as wav or midi file Would be a great producing tool                 Great for learning Phat Chords and works with ThumbJam S0L0Z

l ve been waiting for this app to be released but the disappointing part is that there s no clear note about the whole thing Wouldn t be good for the user to know if someone downloads this app for free 1 You are not going to be able to hear any of the selected chords 2 You will need to purchase a midi core app that will allow you the hear the chords via mid with on your soundcard synth 3 Than you have the choice to buy other reharmonisation tools 4 in this free version there are songs included but you re still cannot hear anything ot of the box These things I think are essentianl to all users to be inform clearly what to expect before making any purchase if you re going to spend about 60 on iphone ipda midi cable and addtional 60 or more for the download software than this is going to be more expenssive than any app on itunes How about a lite version so user can download and try without the need to buy cable and a synth or soundcard etc I hope this will change soon     Its not really free Spiritual 11/11/11
