The best time to organize your photos is when you take them. Photosmith fills the gap in the photographer`s workflow by letting you organize, rate, tag and label your photos while on the road. When ...
Even though this is 20 and a frequent crasher on my iPad3 it is a great app that can substantially help with my post production backlog The crashing is annoying but not the end of the world I like to focus check when making my selection I wish the full resolution previews of my Canon 7D photos would load a little faster but at least give me a progress meter so I know if Ive missed focus or I am still waiting to load Tell me when loading is done whole image or what areas and it is a 5 star app Fixing crashes would be nice but faster focus check is better For people just starting out it would be nice to explain how to remove photos from your iPad and all of the frightening warnings when you remove exported collections Im still not sure what goes on when I remove things              This could be great
Version 3 has an admitted problem with some keywords disappearing during sync Please fix this quickly as that is the whole point of this program For 20 I expect something this critical will work The method of having to create collections to sync back and forth is awkward too This could be great Cant wait for Mosaic to support Windows        Problems with keywords
This new version is even worse than the previous one Ive spent more time trying to get it working and less on my photography It simply refuses to find my ipad What a waste of time and money photosmith is     Disasterous
Often my assignments require that I photograph individuals who are not keen to be pictured Often I have little time with them and it is always on location Photosmith makes the process of onsite review selection and captioning a seamless experience for me and the client I never thought my eyefi card could be useful as a professional tool but Photosmith has made me a believer Instant review makes my clients and subjects happy and reduces the chance of a reshoot My past three shoots have gone as follows 5d Mark III with eyefi pro sending small jpegs to Photosmith on the retina iPad RAW files go to the CF card Each jpeg takes about 5 seconds to appear from shutter release to on screen display When the photo session is over I hand the iPad to subject or client They use stars or color labels to make an initial selection in Photosmith I enter an accurate name caption drag the days photos to a new collection and pack up Back at the office I import raw files to LR4 from the CF card then sync the days photos in Photosmith All captions star ratings and color labels copy over to the raw files in Lightroom As an added bonus I am now more likely to update my mobile portfolio because as soon as I see a nice frame I can drag it right into the appropriate Lightroom collection and hit sync with Photosmith Expect to spend several hours configuring Photosmith according to your preferences Expect a few more hours if youre setting up wifi syncing or any kind of wireless tetherEyefi Expect to spend a few days becoming familiar with the interface By the end of a week it will all feel natural Photosmith doesnt play well with Apples Photos app Youll have a better experience using this app as a replacement for Photos and exporting to Photos only as needed If you are a Photosmith 1x or 2x customer I highly recommend deleting the app deleting the Lightroom serviceplugin and starting from scratch                 30 is useful and reliable
Fabulous companion app to LIghtroom5 for iPad Works flawlessly with tech support second to none If you love photography and Lightroom and your iPad Air or Mini GET THIS APP                 Photosmith
Awful Crashes upon startup Worst 20 purchase ever     Awful
If your ipad does not have enough space to import all the camera card photos you have two choices select all or deselect all If you tap deselect all your photos are instantly deleted from your SD card This is a major design flaw     Easy to delete your photos
Theyve finally got it right with this version Works reliably with my typical workflow cameraphoto libphotosmithrateorganizecullLR I would recommend deleting older versions before installing v3 The first time installed I ran into some problems rebuilding my photosmith library If all your images are already in LR do a clean install and resync collections of interest Ive encountered a few minor bugs Nothing critical that restricts my workflow Theyve been reported and Im sure theyre being worked on The only downer is that by Apples design photos must be first imported into the iPads photo library before being imported into photosmith adding time and an extra delete step Im not sure what Apple is thinking on this point but evidently theyre thinking it in California At any rate while deleting 300 images from the photo lib untethered is not my favorite activity its not as bad as some make it out to be and it gives one a great opportunity to practice cursing in morse code Ive also had a chance to exercise my cameraLRphotosmithrateLR and this seems to work nicely as well              Reliability and performance great with v3
I have used this for a while but stopped using it because of the slowness I recently used it agin when traveling and it was great I got all my tagging keyword management done and synced it all when I got back I dont want to subscribed to Adobe CC so this mobile app is great for my needs              Last upgrade great
Sandboxing Photosmith should have been done a long time ago The app functions the way it is supposed to now I have been using it since v1 with success but it was too constrained by Apple and their control policies The sandbox has let the developers make a good a great app After a small startup glitch it has worked great                 Version 3 is the best so far
My goal was to use an eyefi card to do jpeg proxy flaggingrating on an iPad at a shoot and then have all that syncd back to the RAW files in Lightroom later This is exactly what Photosmith does shoot to two cards RAW on one and JPEG on the Eyefi or RAWJPEG on the eyefi if you have only one slot eyefi sends the JPGs to Photosmith on the iPad for review you can view them rate them mark for discard or flag picks exactly like Lightroom import your RAW files into LR and create a Photosmith Collection Sync the collection with Photosmith on the iPad and all the ratingsflagkeywords will be applied to the RAW files It works brilliantly The only weak link seems to be the Eyefi X2 Pro card it seems extremely susceptible to interference which can make image transfers slow to a crawl of several minutes or I can take the camera and iPad to another room and the transfer is nearly instant This is with direct transfer or using my wireless net Other wireless net devices I use dont seem to have this issue I stream video to my iPad all the time with interference so I think there is a design issue with the eyefi card or how it interacts with the Canon 5DIII This is not fault of Photosmith though when it works it works very well and syncing metadata from the iPad back to Lightroom is excellent I read a lot of reviews before i bought this I dont understand many of the negative reviews Theres a good user forum great online documentation and it works if you read the installation instructions and follow them Eyefi issues well those can be tricky to set up and they are not always reliable so it is hard to know when you have it setup up correctly Follow the Photosmith KB steps to the letter and youll be good to go to the extent that the eyefi will allow                 Great App for LightroomiPad integration
I was a bit premature and must have been in a bad mood when I wrote my original review Since then Photosmith has retained my photos and has been nearly flawless in syncing with LR5 My only small wish at this point would be that if only a couple of photos in a collection have changed between syncs that the app not have to scroll through the list of EVERY photo in the collection But I can live with that Original review Im getting sick of this unreliable waste of my life Every time it gets updated things get broken Im now facing the prospect of having to sync a 1700 photo collection for the THIRD time because the app somehow loses everything but the fuzzy thumbnail Everything is a preview error I think a better prospect is just to delete the fkng thing Not worth the time effort or money              Was Frustrating
Finally after several frustrating months trying to figure out why this app would not work I stumbled on the answer a file that did not download completely and now have incorporated it into my photography workflow and am realizing the true power of this app What the designers have created is a really professional app for serious photographers Whats more they continue to be responsive to suggestions adding them when possible to new release updates Anyone using Adobe Lightroom who also has an IPad should have this app                 Finally
I love this app As a professional photographer traveling around the country I am able to sort tag and star my images while in flight Yesterday I sifted through neatly 1000 headshots while on a 6hour flight and got myself ahead of schedule I do wish for these things basic editing functions such as cropping vertical orientation options direct integration with Twitter and other media so I can quickly share previews with public clients Thanks Photosmith I think this is great and imagine it will get everbetter                 Extremely functional
Photosmith has matured into a fantastic app for culling photos in Lightroom It is so nice to get away from the computer and sift through a shoot in a more relaxed fashion It nice to separate the ability to edit from rating photos Typically I get distracted with editing before I finish rating and rejecting photos I have been sending small jpegs on a Nikon D800 to a 8GB EyeFi Mobi card and wirelessly syncing to an iPad while shooting Raw to a CF card which goes directly to Lightroom Once in awhile to app will crash when rating large amounts of files When you restart the app it picks up right where you left off They have come this far I am sure whatever little bugs are left will be resolved Nothing that stops me from using the app regularly                 Finally a fantastic way to cull photos
I wish I could give this a good review because way back when I bought this app it DID worksort of But its now absolutely useless wont load 90 of the time I have an iPad 3 and crashes CONSTANTLY Heres the bad Syncing never really worked reliably even in the good ol days This app is the most frequently crashing app of any I own Usually when I read reviews claiming constant crashing I dont find them to be accurate Trust me it certainly is the case here as others have said Forget trying to work Other than the app not syncing or working reliably EVER its got a nice UI At least I think it doesit rarely stays loaded long enough for me to really check it out Developers dont charge for this app until its ready You guys really are just stealing with this     Simply doesnt work anymore
This type of app was sorely missing and it was exciting to hear about the solution The app is disappointing especially in light of the price tag It freezes quite often I had sync problems that were solved by removing the app and reinstalling Sync is very slow Importing from SD card requires import by iPad photos and then import to photo smith Both quite slow I expected a more refined look feel and a more robust implementation           Somewhat disappointing
Its alright kinda works Not worth 20 unless its burning a hole in your pocket Feels like a pretty good app interface is night most functionality isnt implemented eh tough to harsh on it but I wouldnt buy it again unless it matured           Its ok
I had really hoped this app would work so I could tagratecolor code my Lightroom library on the road but Ive had nothing but major problems syncing to my Lightroom Library and was never able to get it to sync correctly After sveral hours multiple days trying to get it to work the errors that would pop up would be freezing before fully syncing pop up window saying there was a database consistency error then to purge offline photos but it would show 0 offline files duplicating photos and dumping pix plus dupes into camera roll which I then had to go in an delete metadata errors even though the metadata never changed I really gave this app a chance and wanted to be a fan but I am sorry I have to give it a one star it just never ran correctly Plugin 221 or 222 I verified I downloaded 222 but in the plugin mgr it said 221 Ipad2 601 Lightroom 41 library of 3k dng images MacBookPro 1068     Massive SyncingDatabaseCamera Roll Errors
Works like a charm It is worth every penny I have already synced collection of 1000 photos No problems                 Fantastic app
I use Lightroom for grading sorting deleting and editing photos The problem is that I tend to jump into editing before sorting all the photos first I end up wasting time by not focusing on the best shots I am really thankful I ran into the Photosmith crew at a conference they let me play with a copy to get a hands on with the app I was sold and bought the app the next week Ive been using it to sort event and wildlife shots I even set it up to work with my Eyefi card for direct transfers while shooting I can tag jpg versions of my raw files and apply the tags to the raw files in Lightroom Awesome This app really streamlines my workflow and allows me to sort before making it home from a shoot Great work Photosmith Guys                 The most efficient tool for sorting and marking photos
This app had its issues in previous versions but V3 is the real deal I now cant live without this app it has changed the way I work with Lightroom Keep up the great work                 Awesome
Ive only been using it a day and decided to give it a test by syncing a recent photo shoot to my iPad to do all my selectreject work as well as rating key wording and labeling That particular portion of the photographic process just feels extremely natural on the iPad and the fact I can create and sync catalogs from Photosmith to Lightroom is fantastic I enjoy doing my selects much more now and feel my work flow has enhanced since I can take my working project with me anywhere and do the drudge work on the go Really great product and I hope to see more and more development Glad I spent the money to support such a wonderful product                 Love Photosmith
I have been fulling around with this app for several months now but to no avail It will not keep the photo library in sync with Lightroom I am switching to a manual public folder on my hard drive and going to sync my ipad through iTunes     Does not sync
Bought this while on my honeymoon to share pictures with friends back home App fails on every attempt to post to Facebook andor crashes on use I wasted 20 Dont you     Do not waste your money
As a relatively new photographer this is the perfect app for me to use The interface is really intuitive and it makes it easy to see and tag all of my photos Im slowly trying to improve my photography skills and with that comes the added responsibility of tagging and organizing the photos I take Since I always had my iPad on me throughout the day this app was a no brainer to purchase I was very happy to see the developers blogging constantly on their website about future updates I was assured that they really took interest in what they were doing At first glance the price tag seemed steep Definitely worth it though once you get to use it                 Amazing App for All Types of Photographers
This is one of the missing links to having a mobile Lightroom workflow I had hoped when Smart Previews were announced that would be it but its still not all that mobile friendly This is I mainly use this app for rankinglabeling my photos but does it wonderfully Their support team was great helping me track down a weird issue that was the result of the way some of my photos get named even have the developer talk to me directly without canned responses Warm fuzzies from this support guy Best part is they got a fix for it coming soon Four stars for now as it doesnt currently do smart collections but still amazing software regardless              Great App Great Support
there are moments of bliss and moments of blinding anger The idea is very good link LR to your iPad via a LR plugin and sync photos over for selection The iPad would be a great tool for doing the light work of selecting and rejecting photos the Mac the heavy work of editing and storage Too bad photosmith is so buggy The synching process between LR and Photosmith is buggy at best Sometimes collections adobes word for a group of photos sync brilliantly and painlessly but more often than not synching requires multiple attempts which could range from recreating the collection to removing and reinstalling photosmith Even worse sometimes partial collections are synched The user interface is infuriating at times with the touch zones being too small for many objects causing misspicks The interface also lacks reasonable methods for indicating the current selection For example in the collections bar on the left everything is normally bright silver When you make a selection it the collection selected turns dark Even more annoying each time you select a collection the bar scrolls your selection to the center of the collection bar This causes you to hunt for the selection There are many other examples of the poor design choices for the interface but Im not getting paid to troubleshoot the program I am a user but I feel like a beta tester for photosmith more often than not I really wanted to love this program but it is a huge disappointment Photosmith does not work well My plan is to find another solution which may send me back to relying on my mac book for portable photo selection and editing with no middleware Dont waste your time or money on Photosmith     I Hate it Much like owning an old British car
I use this app in my day job to continuously wirelessly download jpegs to the iPad while a photo shoot is in progress As soon as the shoot is done the client or subject browse through and make a quick selection of their favorites while Im packing up This makes everyone happy If needed I can roundtrip an image into an editing app and send that file off to the editor in a couple minutes over the cell network Back at the office raw files are imported into Lightroom from my CF card and all the selections notations captions etc made to the jpegs in Photosmith get synced back to the camera raw files in LR For this app to truly be a timesaver you will want a camera with supported wifi capability eg an FTP transfer mode or an eyefi card Without a doubt this is a niche product but for anyone in this niche theres nothing like Photosmith Version 3x is stable and very useful to me Update for ver 311 Stability is improved Very stable as an iPadfirst image review and selection tool Using FTP via wifi and Canons wfte7a during event photography is a very positive experience Assistant can review add captions send images to clients or social media in real time                 Essential app for wireless shooting on the go
I give a 2 star for the interface but a 0 star for operations This program is very buggy I cant believe it I have the Lightroom app for the iPad and its syncing just works the opposite here Color labels refuse to sync correctly deleting a collection on the Lightroom plugin didnt choose to leave on service yet I had to manually delete it You know when you spend 19 on an app you expect it to function very disappointed if I cant work out these issues going to ask Apple for refundSyncing conflict with image totals        2 Star for Interface
I paid 17 for this app when it was new and asked the developers to add a basic and obvious function to sequence images in a collection I have no other use for this app as I needed it to work like Lightroom and let me create portfolio edits away from my computer I feel a little ripped off        No sequencing ability
I was hoping for a tool to help me organize large collections Unfortunately using it even with the jpeg previews from my d800 the sync is dreadfully slow and the app crashes on me just about every 15 photos I hope it improves as a functioning tool such as this would be quite useful 2o bucks however for a malfunctioning app has been very disappointing        Buggy and a bit slow
Ive held off on writing a bad review for a long timeI got this app early on version 1 and it wasnt perfect but it did its job I could load a set of photos in it rate them from the comfort of my couch and then synch the results with Lightroom Since the 20 update nothing has been working as it should For the longest time just synching photos didnt work Looks like they fixed that now but I still get portaitformat pics turned around and worse displaying funky You have to sort of zoom out a little to see the image at all with parts obstructed or stretched Not good Also the ratings synch isnt working properly Ive just tried to resynch 200 rated photos with Lightroom and it only kind of sort of synched some of the ratings So now Ill have to go through by hand and see which ratings synched which were lost and which I have to reapply by hand Not good at all and defeats the purpose for using this app for me Now like the Dailai Lama said about Western civilization itd be a good idea I really want this app to work I spent more money on it than on any other app on my ipad I understand this is tricky stuff and the developers are stuck between Apple and Adobe trying to make this work I hope they figure it out and soon Theyre promising all sorts of things for the next update but in the meantime Ive had this app for a looong time most of which it hasnt been working properly Like most everybody else here I cant recommend it until they get it working right and in the meantime Im angry about the wasted money and the time I sunk into trying to get this set up installing reinstalling redownloading synching resynching reinstalling the Lightroom plugin reconfiguring everythingand then it still doesnt work Spare yourself the trouble and stay away Sorry devs Hope you can make this work     I wish this worked
I cant recommend this app Its a terrific idea but its too buggy to be trusted with any photographs I want to keep     Super buggy Good idea Poorly executed
This is by far the most disappointing app I have ever purchased in the app store The price certainly has something to do with it but most importantly its the fact that everything ALMOST works and then it doesnt My biggest grief is with tagging keywords Keywords simply disappear Its crazy You put in work and then nothing I LOVE the concept of this app but I really encourage you to think twice and then think two more times and read all the other reviews and make sure that your workflow will not be damaged by this app It might work for you but my personal rating is AVOID AT ALL COSTS Good luck     I So Rarely Write Reviews But This is a Must
The good news rating and tagging photos while you are traveling is fast and easy with this application and moving that information back to Lightroom on the desktop to finish the job works well And if you want to post a few up to FaceBook before you return that works too The bad news it crashes a lot It may be that I just have big raw images 35mb each and a mix of different raw types Whatever It crashes a lot But rebooting the application is very fast and I dont lose any data so its annoying but not that annoying The second issue is that you have to invest in learning the controls they are all convenient and well done but you wont figure it out on your own and invest in your habit for getting your photos back to our pc They have a lot of ways of doing the synchronization but if youve got a lot of photos or big photos most of those ways will take days to do the transfer But once you figure out the path that works for you its fast and easy                 Very useful application for the Lightroom user
Read the Photosmith app blog Next update appears to be heading to beta and will address technical issues Until then Im keeping the faith in this app team and the apps potential To those who question the expense The 20 I spent on this app is a teardrop in the ocean compared to the investment in camera bodies lenses and photo accessories Im serious about my photography I want tools not toys You want a 99 app to talk to LightRoom 4 Get real              Big update coming
Ive written some bad to very bad reviews of this over the years All I can say now is its good they kept at it The software now works Im still a little shy after time Ive wasted but it seems to be ok ish now The only problem is that the Lightroom plugin still needs work Compared to say the excellent work by Jeffry Friedl this plugin has problems No smart collections means that things become a mess And there are gotchas in the lightroom sync If you delete an image from Lightroom but its still in the collection on the iPad then subsequent syncs will fail Youll have to hunt down that image and manually delete it from the iPad There are various gotchas with the lightroom plugin that waste a lot of time The app is ok but the Lightroom integration is so bad that I gave up           Finally it works
I bought this to sync photos from my iPad to Lightroom and this app does that well Better than Lightrooms own product in fact The developers continually improve it and have some of the best documentation of any app I own Worth reading if you just want to discover how proxy jpeg editing raws and the iOS work They are also very quick with fixes and answers to support questions and have raw support faster than Apple does But this app Ive discovered does more Its about the only one that is able to deal with the RAW files themselves on the iPhone I can export RAW from this app while most photo organization apps I own or editors only deal with the jpeg It can send RAW files to other apps like the Stackr series for upload to online services Its also great for editing metadata For LIghtroom owners it has the key ability to import your keyword list complete with hierarchies so that you dont later end up with conflicts You can rate tag and keyword photos and write that to XMP Im not always a fan of syncing even with the very best of schemes it can be frustrating But even if you dont use that feature this app can be very useful And it gives you control over several different kinds of workflow so youre not stuck with just one approach check out their website for details Its worth reading about even if you dont buy the app                 Great for organizing RAW and JPEG photos
At first I thought it might have been something unique to my iPad or eyefi card Then I checked out the reviews and see that Im not the only one whos plagued with constant crashing Its too bad because the promise of this app is amazingI just hope its a promise C2 Enterprises can keep I also hope their plan to use Apple Store to host a kickstarter project project doesnt backfire Apple may have a policy against doing stuff like that     Crashes for me too
I had hoped that I would easily be able to make simple changes to the metadata specifically flagging ranking and key wording photographs on my iPad with images from my Lightroom catalog It turned out that adding Photosmith to my workflow made it much more complicated than I wanted it to be I have since switched to using a laptop with Lightroom instead of an iPad for mobile photo editing        Photosmith workflow not what I anticipated
Yes this product is ridiculously expensive compared to other iPad photo products and does only a few things But it does them very well If you use your iPad for reviewing photos from your camera and process them later with Adobe Lightroom then you need this app Photosmith runs great on my 3rd generation iPad The iPads Retina display is so beautiful that I prefer it to my laptop for reviewing photos away from home I use Photosmith to select tag and rate my photos Then I sync the results to Lightroom when I get home Unfortunately you cannot adjust your images other than orientation from inside this app The app is extremely easy to use The setup wizard gives you all the info you need to know to use it Support is excellent I asked several questions both before and after purchasing the product and all were answered within an hour by one of the developers Their website has lots of useful info on how to use the product I started with Version 1 then upgraded to Version 2 when it became available Version 2 is a complete redesign of the product so if you see any reviews or descriptions of Version 1 they do not apply to Version 2 Go to Photosmiths web site to see lots of good info on how to use Version 2 I deducted one star from my rating for the high price otherwise I would have given it 5 stars              Expensive but essential for Lightroom fanatics
I really wanted this app to work Ive had a few email exchanges with the authors They wereare constantly working on it but just cannot seem to get this app to work The whole purpose I got this app was so I could ingest to my iPad right after a shoot do some ratingcullingkeywording and synch all that to Lightroom 4 back on my workstation 1 Scanning iPad photos generally works Its kind of a pain and pulls from the Camera Roll May be an Apple restriction 2 In general the UI is functional You can zoomratereject images Switching between Grid Loupe and Full Screen is pretty buggy You never know what image the switch is going to leave you on And the app crashes 3 The app crashes Frequently Very frustrating especially in the middle of a culling session There is no real pattern The app crashes while culling zoom to verify focus rating advancing through the images etc while accessing the Services while performing actions in Maintenance while scanning iPad photos 4 Synching with Lightroom is a nonstarter At best its extremely buggy and unreliable Synching has been the issue about which Ive communicated with the developers most often V2 synching is much worse and much more restrictive ie NONuserfriendly than in V1 Plus it is unbelievably slow over the WiFi the only synching optioncannot synch via USB I strongly recommend avoiding this app for the time being It is certainly not worth paying for and I really wish I could get my money back The time I have spent monkeying around with this app and its companion Lightroom plugin would have been better spent just working on the images in Lightroom If you need to capture in the field take a laptop Avoid Photosmith     Unreliable Buggy Crashy Avoid at all costs
I really wanted this app to work well not only because I spent 20 bucks on it but because its a huge gap in my workflow I want to view jpgs converted from my LR raw files on my iPad retina It turns out its a real headache to get the folders to synch correctly I often got messages that the database was out of synch or the photos just wouldnt be copied over or there would be duplicates Eventually got some folders to synch up but only after way too much effort on my part My biggest gripe with this app is that if you make an edit to an already synched photo in lightroom like adjust contrast and use Publish function in lightroom it will not synch the updated photo to your ipad You have to manually remove all the photos on your ipad first using a disk utility app and then try to resynch I have 15k photos that I would like synched on my ipad so this is just not realistic Its way too much work Im going back to saving ipad3 size jpg files on a local drive and synching them via itunes to iphoto on my iPad Hopefully they will release a version that works better for folks that work in RAW in lightroom and update photos frequently and are looking to synch smaller JPG files to iPad for viewing and sharing with friends Thats what I was hoping this app would do but unfortunately it falls short     unfortunately does not help
I use this to pull collections from LR4 to my iPad 3 to make picks flags then sync picks back to LR4 for edit export The previous versions spotty sync issues seem to have been resolved Also the sync is much much faster The only occasional issue I have is when I run through photos too quickly the app sometimes hangs or crashes Could be an iPad issue though Great job on the update              Update is much more stable Finally starting to integrate this more into my workflow
It his came highly recommendedbutconstant lock ups app crash etc Avoid it     Lock up city
Blog is dated and forums have been offline for some time Whats up with that                 Curious
This is the 1st version I have used I use it to keyword the photos I already have in my Lightroom catalog It works really well Thank you for developing this app                 Love it
Documentation is outdated no way to import from card but trough photos app try deleting a 500 plus photoshoot from photos app no way to import from shuttersnitch all in all I regret spending time in photosmith again     Still extremely disappointing
Maybe not the developers total fault but even this latest version just wastes my time instead of making my down time productive For those of you interested in storing and sorting your photos on your iPad I tried out the new Photosmith App between a Saturday and Monday I bought this probably 2 years ago and have been waiting for an update to make it usable for about a year I guess I still have to wait The theory is that you upload photos from your camera to your iPad rate and reject them etc on your iPad and then transfer them to Lightroom What this is supposed to do is let you use down time to work on your photos before bothering to upload them to LR I had hoped to do this on my way home on Saturday with 146 photos and a 45 minute trip home on the bus Instead I probably spent 4 hours doing everything here are the clunky steps 1 Import from card to iPad camera roll 2 Import from camera roll to Photosmith 3 RateReject photos basically one at a time I didnt count this time 4 Create new collection in LR 5 Xfer to Lightroom on computer via WiFi 6 Move photos to new folder for shoot in LR 7 Remove from Photosmith collection in LR Delete from Photosmith App on iPad 9 Connect iPad to computer delete all photos from camera roll Well so much for that idea I just popped the same CF card in and was done in 7 minutes importing directly to Lightroom     Just a time waster
