Just Great                     Review BobsledT
The app has some great videos and lecture notes What doesn t really justify the price is the video quality especially if you are trying to listen using earphones Two stars until video is fixed             Great content poor video quality Fantaboulouso
changed to 5 stars due to genuine sincere reply by developer to reviewer Exactly that This app is awesome and provides a ton of resources the only thing is I have to go through relocate where I was reading Some of these are quite long and would be useful to have a save spot option or something like that Other than that I strongly recommend Worth the 5                     Great but I wish it saved where I left off BobbyF92
Great app with extremely accurate summaries of each philosopher and what their philosophies were I like to read up on each philosopher before studying them for the philosophy courses I have to take                     This app is a hidden gem Luigi Granata
If you love philosophy as much as I do I highly recommend buying this app For a small fee you will own a plethora of famous philosophers ideas both in original writing and explanations of them Whether you teach philosophy at a college or are just somebody who enjoys reading you will be glad you have this                     Yes you should own this app Flashf1r3
I love philosophy and this app is a great compendium of this subject                     Excellent and concise grassdunes
The app looks good it is user friendly but some of the translations make no sense Disappointing Analects for example I don t know if it is word to word translation but much of what s written just doesn t make sense in English I ll keep trying but I d rather read something I trust than spend time second guessing what those writers actually said             Translations not always good awesomebusybee
I never write reviews but this app is surely worth one I am very impressed with the organization and overall content of this app I can t wait to be enlightened by the end of it                     Very Impressed Fathis Crowe
That s all I wanted I m glad that I found it                     Does what it says works well Mike-stro
It gives you quotes and explanations for the major philosophers Much more convenient then using the Internet to learn Love this app and worth the money                     A Great Recourse PadraighD
Perfect for any student or interested individual                     Very useful for classes Mikokeem
Where is Augustine Where is Aquinas This app shows a profound secular bias Leaving out Christian thought in the history of philosophy is like leaving out World War II in the history of the 20th century         Biased noticeably lacking Christian thinkers MichaelNataro
A great app to open and reflect on the ideas of some of the greatest philosophical minds to date Hopefully future updates will include more philosophers                     Love this app Use it daily Germanic.LebenWeg
Simple and to the point                     Great Shihaoguo
This app is awesome in every way except No Heidegger Really Hopefully they will add more philosophers to this It s a great way to jog your memory about the ideas of certain philosophers and I think it s really handy Also the full texts of certain works in phenomenal I love it                 Awesome little app Lukeray007
For the intellectual surrounded by a sea of Reality tv personalities                 Good escape mlreformation
The explanations are easy to understand and with the combined works of multiple philosophers this app is an incredible resource The price for such a complete app is a bargain and I would recommend this app to anyone with an interest in the philosophical field In the next update however it should include a way to un favorite a quote other than that this is worthy of a solid five stars                     Excellent perhaps743
Awesome app                     Great App hannya69

The other reviewer who complained about the app being biased seemed to be looking for a theology app Upon reading his review it is clear that he has a bone to pick with philosophy in general He claimed that many thoughtful philosophers believe in God I m not sure which philosophers he has been reading as of late The trend from the theism of medieval philosophy to the deism of modern philosophy to the atheism that followed would surely clear up the misconception that most philosophers believe in God Some do yes but clearly not many or most                     I don t find it biased GlobeTrottingLinguist
I was worried that the explanations would be skewed or biased since they were written by the app creator but they could have fooled me for being the intro paragraph to a Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy article They are definitely shorter and therefore less in depth But they provide a good resource as a jumping off point I d recommend this to my students                     Might as well be Stanford s Enclyclopedia gahon
The collection of philosophical texts is useful The effort to compile these resources and the very concept of such an app is excellent and earns this flawed effort 3 stars so flawed that I would NOT recommend purchasing it I did just so I might advise my students You see the app purports to be philosophy as such when on numerous issues especially where it touches on religious matters it takes an avowedly singular often anti religious perspective In point of fact many thoughtful philosophers past and present do believe in some kind of God And not just on religious questions there are numerous disputed issues where the question guide implicitly assumes there simply one answer to the question You can detect this in the way the questions are phrased For example If we are born good why does evil occur The article assumes an affirmation of the antecedent when everyone from certain evolutionary naturalists to devout Monotheists might disagree Or the answer to the question of the ends justifying the means it really dodges the central issue there It is not that milfthing s there are certain goods that justify any moral action it s that sometimes good and seem to justify terrible means That is where the whole debate on that issue is but the answer to that question is not at all allude to that Students or other beginning philosophers are in need of a good survey of the range of responses to crucial philosophical questions And they need the answers described in the objective unbiased ways Unfortunately this app s answers are not comprehensive enough and are skewed towards a certain and I find idiosyncratic point of view             Helpful resources but very biased westmalledubbel
This has given me something to do while commuting each day better than wasting my time on Angry Birds                     I use it on the bus SkiByNight
This app gave me a taste of philosophy without sending me to sleep For that I am grateful                     Finally philosophy that isn t boring pinegoat
This is a terrific introduction to philosophy The app includes quotes access to several full works of philosophers as well as helpful Basic Ideas essays which introduce thinkers from Aristotle to Wittgenstein                     Terrific introduction to philosophy froyd10
My friends who struggled in Philosophy needed this I m glad this app exists                     Will recommend to friends Noshimo
It was worth spending a buck to check out and the summaries are not bad as long as you keep in mind that they are and must be very high level But the sheer number of locked down features was surprising and annoying You need to view more quotations to gain access to the Wiki seriously There s something a little strange about what looks like the attempted gamification of philosophy             Content OK locked down features are odd King Cyclops
Everyone can use a daily dose of wisdom This app is easy to navigate and makes philosophy convenient and easily digestible                     Awesome app Jonathan.kim15
