Works well Does not obtain GPS location well without network connection but this might be more of an iPhone issue              Pretty Fun
I use it everywhere I go in Colorado                 Great app
This is a great app would highly recommend to the curious of whats around them One thing I would like to see is an azimuth reading along with a the cardinal point of the compass                 Great App
Great app to have on the go              Great app
Great concept but more often than not the GPS cannot find where you are rendering the program useless           GPS
If youre like me and always want to know the names of the mountains you are looking at even the smaller ones then this is a must have                 Hard to live without
Cant wait to try it out on a hike near the Flatirons              Very cool
Neat Would be great if it used camera and gave peak info overlay on the real world view Its always hard to get the sketch line schematic to align well with the exact orientation of the phone              Cool Should use camera
Have used this app in a number of different mountain ranges in California and it always draws the mountain range and peak profiles amazingly accurately To the person below who thinks they can see Mt Whitney from the Central Valley this is a common myth believed by people who dont know what they are looking at The taller 13000 ft mask it from our view but it can be seen from the tops of those peaks both Mt Goddard and Sawtooth peak for example Most likely you are looking at either Red or Black Kaweah their profile from here looks similar to views of Whitney from the Lone Pine side of the Sierras Peak Finder has it right                 Great app
Seems to work well I hike a lot so its very helpful                 Fun little program
This is my favorite app period I live at 9000 in the San Juan Mts of SW Colorado I have been using this app for about 4 months now several times a week at least It has never once failed to locate me occasionally it takes several attempts to get located no big deal and has always identified every peak Ive viewed both here in my home area and in other parts of the state that I have traveled to this past summer For many decades now when on top of a peak Ive gotten out the compass and spread a map to identify peaks in the distance now I just open PeakFinder and its all laid out easy as you please This app deserves 5 stars because it works simply and accurately Just plain fun                 The Best
Havent yet had the chance to test this in many places but have used it quite a bit in NW Oregon Portland west to Cannon Beach north to Astoria Very accurate and finally now know the names of some smaller peaks weve wondered about for years Very accurate and easy to use We have been wanting an app like this for a long time              Works great in northwest Oregon
This app does not work The only time it found a mountain I was pointing at I had to input the name of the mountain I wish I could get my money back Worst app I have ever gotten One star was the lowest it would let me rate it     Doesnt work
Working great so far                 Great app
I used this last weekend going from the San Francisco Bay Area thru the Sierra across Nevada and on to Salt Lake This apps fabulous lived having such details data on where I was at all times Thanks                 Great app for a train trip
Inaccurate and a waste of money     Worthless Cant See the Grand Teton
If you do much hiking or climbing in areas that you arent familiar with this is certainly an app to get I highly recommend it I gave 4 stars only because it can be a little hard to decipher The UI could certainly be improved but it is very functional              If you climbhike this is worth getting
I love the idea and still use it as no other app has offline capability But ive been using this app for a few years now have had the following problems it consistently will not label prominent peaks AsIm writing this im looking right at Pikes Peak 12 miles away It shows the mountain contour but doesnt label it This happens all the time the GPS locator fails to find where I am Starting Google Maps and then going back seems to fix this for some reason Better labeling and better GPS and i would give this five stars But after years without improvement im not holding my breath        Could be great but its not
Works alright Not perfect but certainly worth having in the mountains where there is cell range              Good App
Not quite as thorough as I had hoped but an excellent app and very useful              Very useful
Works great and useful for figuring out where you are                 Very useful
Love this app Not much graphics but you can really tell which peaks are which                 Great
This app has been great for hikes in Colorado I was able to quickly orient and determine peaks I was hiking through with ease GPS found me every time even in low areas Highly recommend                 Must have for hikers
Doesnt use a camera and isnt accurate Couldnt even identify a 14er right in front of us Keep shopping elsewhere     Dont buy this app
I like this app when I am a car passenger on a road tripgood for identifying mounts along the way Used it successfully yesterday when we very unexpectedly had service at Mt Rainiers Sunrise area              Good when you have service
Although I have not yet used the app outside it is still loads of fun Any geography or map enthusiast should give it a try I would like to see a better method of rendering the labels Although the app is very easy to use without any instructions the way online users guide will reveal a little more depth              Fun to Play With
Works great in the Denver area and pretty much throughout Colorado In really remote areas sometimes cant identify a mountain or too Its my favorite app for the iPhone              Works great 95 of the time
I have not had a good experience with this app The names of the peaks do not appear on screen It crashes when scrolling thru the peak database     Peak Finder West
In real world situations one mountain is hidden by closer shorter mountains For my mountain research Peak Finder adds an important dimension elevation Better for me than the way a topo map or Google Earth gives elevation I love to jump from peak to peak and look in 360 Peak Finder can be used offline because mountains often block cellular service Also the PDF output is a good reference This is a great app and I expect it to only get better A suggestion is to improve how Favorites are created named and edited                 Great views aid to planning trips
Love this app Easy to use and informative Nothing else like it that I am aware of                 Awesome app
I live in the Sierras and this app only labels a couple of the mountains around me In other locations its been great           Not enough
I really wanted this app to work I have looked for some sort of instructions but cant find any I think Ive tried everything in the app to get it to work but it always thinks I am in the same location no matter where I am Great idea it just doesnt work on my iPhone 4S     Wont work on my phone
I love using this app Ive found most of the peaks around where I live easily and much more accurately than from a map Get this one if you spend much time outdoors                 This is really cool
Countless time Ive looked at the mtns and wondered what a peak name is then found the 34 around and behind it Only once so far could it not locate or orient but I was complelty out of cell and data range Must have for the weekend climber                 Great app
Pros The cool factor is very high Accurate and comprehensive Adds to the enjoyment of any hike Aid to navigation Cons Can be a bit fussy              A musthave app for hikers
Works great up here in northwest Washington The mountains that are on Vancouver Island British Columbia are listed as being in California though The names are correct the state isnt              Works Great
In Summit County Colorado where they have plenty of peaks Rarely does it point to correct peak Does NOT SCROLL when you rotate to different peaks Cannot count on it to point correct peaks so it is WORTHLESS Ive tried to give this app a chance with repeated tests and trials Not worth any money     Terrible Rarely finds correct peak
I moved into the Colorado mountains outside of Denver recently and like to know what I can see This app is amazing Not only can it identify the peaks on the horizon but you can change your location to any given point to visualize things from a different perspective Its a great way to explore and learn                 I love this thing
This app does a good job in identifying the peaks we see during our hikes Line drawings match the peak outlines well                 Helpful app when hiking
Love using this app along the Front Range                 A must for anyone in Colorado
I live in seattle and use this app all the time in the city as well as when in in the mountains Wish there were satellite views or some pictures rather than just drawings but love everything else about this app              Great app
I looked of over a year for a poster that would name the peaks as seen from my job Bam A friend showed me this app and I can name them wherever I go The ability to show the peaks visible from a summit or a different elevation is awesome                 Name that peak
I love being able to always find out what peak that is no matter where I am                 Awesome for Hiking
It works great in Grand County Colorado Panning manually works better than aiming the phone at the peaks              Works well
Ive had fun using this in Utah and Northern California Works best if youre not moving in a car Be sure to touch the compass and turn it on                 Nifty gadget
Love it              Great
More than once Ive looked at a peak in the distance and wondered what it was With this app I have been able to find peak names easily Handy for hikers to help orientate and for tourist that want to know the names of peaks in their photos                 Great App when you are in the mountains
Im an old rock hound who first used this app on a road trip that started along the Colorado front range and then drove west to the Pacific coast in Southern California Ive made this trip before and wished I knew the names and elevations of the peaks along the way I used Peak finder throughout my last trip and it never let me down I was always able to identify peaks of interest I love how you can just tap on the peak name to see its elevation Its also great how you can fly to different locations viewpoints and view peak panoramas that are 100s of miles away Finally i like how you can use Google maps to change the viewpoint Now Im back home and although i know the names of over 100 peaks in my area that ive climbed Peak Finder has opened a whole new world of awareness in my own backyard also useful when skiing in different areas Very nice piece of software thanks for building such a wondeful app                 Fantastic App for Mountain lovers
I like that its simple and not cluttered the app did work and find the correct peaks after refreshing location It only works in Landscape orientation in future versions Id like to see it work in Portrait as well                 Cool App
Has worked great Am avid hiker and have used in the Rockieshas worked fine Wish it had the elevations as well              Have fun hiking
