The new Patanjali`s Yoga Sutra app version 1.0.1 has been updated on 2014-11-23. Adding to my review the text in my version is now garbled all the letter with Sanskrit diacritics are now all capitals Difficult to read unless you know what the word is already Still excellent chanting by Mekhala Desikachar Good to have both classical and simplified A few changes would make it a more effective tool Currently you cannot pause and go back part way to hear a certain section important if there is one section of a sutra that s tough for you and needs repetition Also the longer I use the app the more pauses and skips there are this can throw you off if you re just learning Overall accuracy check of the app needed by developers for example I ve found when you try to replay 1 26 simplified the app plays beginning chap 2         Needs Update bromocat

Allowing the user to repeat any Sutra as many times as it takes is essential to learning it This app is wonderful The chanting is beautiful and is perfectly formatted if one merely wants to listen to the Sutras But one who wants to learn to chant the Sutras can t advance or replay individual Sutras without advancing or replaying the entire chapter Please look into modifying this It would take this app from wonderful to above and beyond Many thanks             Learning to chant the Sutras Should be asleep

I downloaded all the Patangali Yog Sutra apps that were available I wish I can pull the best features from all those to make the best app This one has the best recital of sutras The user interface where the devnagari text is shown could be better and readable Also it will be good if the sutra essence could fit on the same screen And the most desirable feature would be to play the sutra as soon as I forward to the next sutra Now I have to forward and play to listen the sutra Still I am enjoying this app just for the recital of the sutras                 Very good app Could be improved HoustonYogi

Great App to learn and understand the meaning of PYS It would be even better if you could place the selected sutra into the favorite folder and from there be able to play only those selected few AND have the option to play them in a loop                 Great App nikiw.

Yesterday it was updated since then it is not working correctly anymore stuttering lagging leaving out does not make it easy to learn chanting the sutra and it is very interrupting if you want to chant along with Mekhala So PLEASE repair that SWATHI Software     Loved the App until yesterday Traditional Yoga

I think this is great to begin to learn the yoga sutra s there are some odd pauses and some extra long holding of long vowels but overall this is very good                     Use this everyday yoginijj

This translation is the same translation found in Desikachar s book Heart of Yoga The English translation as well as the commentary is the same with the added bonus of being able to hear the Sanskrit chanted by Desikachar s daughter If you like the book you will love the portable app                     As seen in Heart of Yoga DetroitYogi

This is a truly lovely app idea So good to have the content and chanting based on an authentic tradition The app could be even better with the ability to Copy sections you may wish to save into your notes email or text apps also a word by word translation is a must at this price to be competitive with one of the other sutra apps that does this As others have said the ability to bookmark and have the app remember where you left off in study would be very helpful Otherwise this is a very good basis for a recently released app I will gladly give five stars with the above features updates added             Almost there kathmandu04

Absolutely must have for yoga practitioners The translation is one I ve studied for years Each time I reread a sutra so much more is revealed My only feedback without these I still give it a 4 99 hoping a future update will include these features Wish they had a way to mark your favorite sutras No way to mark where you left off Have to remember or start from beginning wish there was audio of the translation as well so I could listen to all of it                     Yes Finally Aloha Nani
