This is possibly the best little notebook app I have ever seen I used this app all throughout nursing school and it helped me keep my notes so organized Attach a little keyboard to your iPad and you have the best mini laptop and easy to use digital notebook I loved that within each notebook you could have different subjects with as many pages as you wanted I also love how you can attach the image straight into the note and place it wherever you want The drawing feature is also awesome Teacher draws something on the board I could either draw it myself right with the app or I could take a picture on my iPad of what she drew and place the picture within the note BEST NOTE TAKING APP EVER Also the app syncs itself with wherever else you have your app like your phone So if you leave your iPad at home then you can study your notes from your phone or even take notes on your phone I only wish I could download it for my MacBook also Love this App Jdf607

This app is OK but the Dropbox piece needs to be redone It is slow Painfully slow It will try to sync data that isn t for the app it sorts content in Dropbox illogically so browsing to add a new sync notebook is a nightmare Slow Slow S L O W I only use it with Dropbox so I can t say if it is better on other sync platforms Dropbox integration is horrible rus_sel

I did not find this intuitive The tutorial user guide and search not helpful Deleted an extraneous tab resulted in all tabs deleted No undo No deleted folder to put them back Everything gone Looks pretty but doesn t work for me Lost and confused Tinkeron

When I initially purchased Outline it was superior to then terrible Onenote for iOS Since then the situation had reversed Outline still has three advantages over Onenote 1 It can use files from cloud storage other than Onedrive This is the biggest advantage but only for those who need it If you re using a free Onenote on the desktop you really can t utilize this You also need to be using Onedrive if you want to have web access to your notebooks 2 It has a beautiful visual design 3 It can open one files directly from email which is a useful feature in some very limited circumstances It also has a number of drawbacks and here s the two biggest ones 1 It doesn t OCR images it doesn t OCR printouts and even when it seems to find text in printouts created by Onenote it won t highlight it half the time This makes it a poor data management solution what good is all that info if I can t find it This is a major design limitation 2 While the sync has improved lately it is still slow and there s no background sync With Onenote getting better and better they need to at least fix the search to stay relevant Falling behind Onenote in features Ano-nym-ous

I just started using the App So far it has been good but I am still learning the in and outs of it But I am happy to find a notes app that has some interface capabilities with OneNote Just got the App CAHorne

iTunes please give me my money back for this crappy app I am serious This APP his horrible Every time I try to write a new passage on my iPad in this APP it immediately erases it not long after I pause to write a new line It is extremely frustrating trying to type something out then the app erases it You try to remember what you thought then you have to rewrite it Try having to re write it 3 OR 4 times Try it happening when you are in a meeting It s the kiss of death This app Is SO annoying You can t help but be upset about the shabbiness of the app Not worth the money or the frustration IT keeps erasing and it s too clunky when it tries to sync to the cloud And putting images in the note might as well crash the whole notebook Please get it together For the irritation and anger I have endured trying to write in this app it should be FREE No Good App Erases almost everything JustpeachynDC

Outline is a great compliment to One Note in Microsoft It works seamlessly across the IOS platforms and with One Note so notes taken on one device are available on other devices It has great functionality for my needs and I use it almost every day for personal journaling and keeping track of other things Great application DPRinFLA

I use OneNote for work and Outline for personal notes It s great that I have the choice to use whichever cloud I want to store my notebooks I can even open my work notebooks from OneDrive for Business and keep my own notebooks on iCloud Awesome austinwill

Getting data from external sources into the app is a chore The best case is that you can do it but it s way harder than OneNote Case in point I used my iPad s camera to take pictures of some loose sheets of notes Getting them into OneNote involved selecting Insert clicking on the sheets and watching them all populate With Outline each image has to be inserted separately Add Photo Image Add Photo Image Add Photo Image ad nauseum And while double checking whether there is some way to push the addition from Photos I discovered that the answer is yes for OneNote For Outline Nope The issues are aggravating enough I am not sure I would use it without an alternative With an alternative it s a no brainer as much as I would prefer Dropbox The only reason to use it over OneNote is Dropbox support chrisweuve

How long do we have to wait until we get good Apple Pencil support iPad Pro 9 7 has almost been out for a year now There is an extreme amount of lag time when writing with the Apple Pencil Newest version still not helpful rookierev

The app is really great and way better than OneNote but it doesn t support the apple pencil with makes a huge difference when writing notes or drawing I will change my review once the apple pencil is supported No Apple Pencil Support Jeffinner

One minute I love this app and the next I m pulling out my hair I gave a 3 star since tomorrow I don t have a clue how it will behave but here are some tips before you give them a one star If it is not acting as the guide says it should then back your important notebooks to iCloud restore them to see if you can delete the app and download it again from the App Store and test to see if what ails it has went away Restore the notebook from the settings An Outbox notebook will be restored not the one you named it If you enlarge your text and find the line spacing doesn t enlarge as well jump to another page and back Photos look low res I use the contextual menu to resize to original Sharing or pasting a graphic from another app and then suddenly you cant drag it or activate the contextual menu force quit the app and relaunch it As you can see I have really endured a lot to even continue using this app Hope this helps Oh and incase this app disappears tomorrow save your notebooks as a PDF just incase if it will let you Boohooohahhha Extremely squirrelly Tinman N Oz

Everything that OneNote wishes it could be Outline provides the ability to sync with Dropbox while emulating OneNote in a more pleasant and easier to use UI While the price is a bit steep it s worth the money to have an app that allows you to use a better storage service than OneDrive while maintaining note taking ability Wonderful App Stonyeagle

Internal note links that work fine on the OneNote app don t always work on Outline You might not have permission to open it Umm yes I do Sync is very slow for large notebooks I really want to like it for the Recent Pages Viewed feature that OneNote doesn t offer I really want to like it MLRA73

Although the Outline app has a great organization scheme notebook sections pages it is missing basic word processing features including but not limited to the following column layouts table layouts table cell split and merge table border options size thickness visibility and mixed font type and size alignment and organization Therefore this product does not satisfy most of my note taking writing or documentation needs I wish there was a way to determine this without having to spend 10 Great Organization Mechanism but BizAnalyst

I bought the oneNote compatible version of Outline for iOS for 1199 and I bought the educational discount version of the full Mac App from the Outline Store for 2399 Within 20 minutes I had created a oneNote compatible notebook in Outline that failed to open in OneNote failed in both the desktop version for Office 2016 and the Web interface I then discovered that because I had not bought the official Mac App Store version of Outline because of the educational discount that I could not sync with iCloud I have used Outline off and on for the last couple of years and I want to support this app However my final decision to dig in and pay the money for this Outline Ecosystem did not work out Apps dont cost a ton of money these days and people expect to get functionality out of what theyre paying for The cost here does not meet the level of functionality This app does not support Google Drive nor does it support OneDrive for Business the two major cloud platforms for students These are the two major platforms because Office365 for Education runs with OneDrive for Business as its cloud platform and Google is still one of the biggest providers of cloud services for collegesuniversities Im writing off the 35 loss and walking away Not digging the representation of this App

Being able to take hand written notes in my OneNote files is awesome but every update of this app seems to have a new issue The handwriting feature has gotten pretty good and the ink looks great It usually does a good job updating your files to the cloud so your notes appear on your computer However whenever I take too many hand written notes over a page the app crashes when I try to sync and I cant transfer my notes Customer support is very responsive but this bug makes this almost unusable for me Nice idea but buggy

I have tried many notetaking apps Outline is best it allows to have a great balance between hierarchy and usability I like handwriting with magnifying feature integration with cloud services like Dropbox stability You also havent to spend too much time to learn how it works the app has a very practical and user friendly interface Keep up the good work

I first rated this app 5 stars after having it for a week Soon you see though how glitchy this app is I have the newest IPad Air and the app crashed and locked me out of my iPad for about 30 min The other thing is the backup Sometimes it will just stop working If I were you Id get notability Much less glitchy and overall a better app Really glitchy

Before Onenote came out with drawing for iPad I bought this app in hopes to be able to draw I was super excited but it turned out really buggy I dont really need it now because its way too buggy and not nearly as pretty looking as Onenote and Onenote has drawing now Used to need it

Well inks are good UI is pretty beautiful and simple effective syncing between iPad and my Mac Its really useful especially for me as a college student Handwriting sharing and all the rest are well done The app 100 fuilfill its desired mission Excellent app

This app came out before onenote for iPad It filled a need for note taking It is laid out very well and almost as nice as onenote It also has features like sync to box Dropbox and onedrive Sounds promising but then it has no iPhone app cant create tables on the iPad and limited table support on the Mac app It has many nice features and it could be a good competitor for onenote but is frustratingly sparse on some needed features App so good its frustrating

I am a one note user I have the one note app downloaded on my iPad and have used it for everything Its clean and more organized than evernote which just always seemed to busy for me Like most people I downloaded outline plus and paid the 11 dollars cuz Im an impulse buyer It worked well but his app is so buggy It syncs up just fine with my pc But it changes around any annotations I have and then it crashes allllllll the time I have since switched to noteability then send the PDFs to my one note Ok but not great

The graphic interface attracted me to have a try on this app Although the idea to incorporate multiple functionality is nice the actual using experience is not pleasing at all Core functionality such as handwriting need to be improved to make its response faster and more intuitive Painting mode is nice but the handwriting is not direct handwriting on the spot but writing on a area on the button Every time you want do handwriting somewhere you have to click on that then write on the bottom Thats very disappointing as a handwriting experienceIt took me a long time to find out how to open PDFs from Dropbox but ended up with my giving up Not user experience oriented design

This app is everything I could ask for in notetaking I can make sheets groups of sheets and groups of groups to organize all of my copious notebooks of information Every sheet allows me to type anywhere draw anywhere add images anywhere did I mention that I can organize these bits anywhere in the sheet however I want to display them I can group the bits of information in a sheet just as easily as I can put sheets together in a group The finegrained organizational controls alone make this app worth more than the price I sync between the desktop version and my iPad as well which is an absolute necessity This app may have started as a OneNote client but it has exceeded that application for me in every way possible I have removed all of my other notetaking and organizing apps because Outline does it all flawlessly This is really my goto app for everything Organized Freeform Notes

First I want to say that this app has a gorgeous UI design It works well on an iPad Airs 97 screen Unfortunately OneNote inking isnt 11 compatible ink written in Outline doesnt line up correctly with other objects when viewed in OneNote Ill keep checking for updates to see if this issue is resolved Great potential still kind of buggy

I wanted to like Outline It looks good as compared to One Note However it has continually corrupted all of my files with One Note I could not properly sync from Outline or One Note These two just do not communicate with each other I ended up deleting all of my notes and starting over still to have issues on sync Now Im giving up and going back to One Note only I wasted my money on this expensive app and lost my entire database in the process Continual corruption with One Note

This App has wonderful design features However it is flawed and cumbersome in editorial tools Sometimes the programs works right but most of the time it doesnt Often it shuts down and I have to reopen the app and reopen the file Ive given up using the editorial tools I create my docs in Google Docs then send them over to Outline because I love being able to organize my notes for school PLEASE FIX It is frustrating the way the text blocks are setup Frustrated

Ive used this app for a couple of years It started out great but recent updates have introduced new bugs There are many more features now but more glitches and a reduced ease of use Bugs Lagging when highlighting and moving text as well as well changing text color or size Lagging when writing writing is no longer as smooth as it once was Text disappears and reappears when scrolling text is never lost but it is annoying when trying to read previously written text and is visually displeasing Crashing when returning to the notebook page nothing lost yet but it is annoying Lagging when typing my bluetooth keyboard never lags except when using the app Lagging with spellcheck doesnt instantly underline words difficult to get it to give word suggestions Odd underlining with spellcheck it sometimes underlines words that are most definitely spelled correctly and sometimes doesnt underline incorrectly spelled words making it sort of useless Difficulty importing PDFs great feature but Ive only been able to get it to work once Difficult syncing I have never been able to sync my notebooks Not once Not with any of the syncing options These lagging issues are not HUGE but they are significant enough to be annoying and frustrating Desired New Features not as important as fixing the bugs Ability to change order of notebooks Ability to set gallery picture as notebook cover Ability to add words to spellcheck dictionary Will upgrade to 5 stars if bugs are fixed This app is worthy of 5 stars and I appreciate the many new features and updates but again they have introduced many bugs Please fix them Getting better but still buggy

This app is hard to use You can undo something sould corresponding with redo feature but it does not I used Onenote for my calculus class and hope to find a good app on ipad that allow me to review my notes Finally synchronized my notes through itunes but this app couldnt show math formulas so it will not do the job Why does nobody mention it I want my money back MATH NOT SUPPORTED

Save your money it still has a lot of bugs especially crashing upon syncing and erasing wont sync and wont highlightwrite lower in the page I had been using it for the past 4 versions however it still has bugs which makes the app not useful I really want this to work though Aside from the app crashing during synchronization the app crashes when I try to erase so Im forced to use undo which adds many more keystrokes especially when writing Also as I move down the page highlightingwriting stops working unless I zoom in At this point Id save your money until they fix more bugs Still not useful

I love this app Its interface is so much more beautiful than OneNote I absolutely love using this app UPDATE 82915 I use this app everyday in college and its extremely annoying You can now select text but when I hit copy and paste it into another app it only copies the first line Very annoying bug that needs to be fixed to get back up to my 4 star rating before UPDATE 9715 Outline has stopped syncing it gets stuck on about 10 Ive left it for about 15 minutes it hasnt moved This NEEDS to be fixed I spent 8 on the iPad app and 12 on the Mac app and its useless Until they come out with a fix STAY AWAY its a waste of money So many bugs STAY AWAY until update

Despite the name it isnt an outliner Its just a freeform text editor Basically its a copy of OneNote Why bother Just Get OneNote for Free
