This app is so useful I love it I love the maps the state park descriptions directions even the part on geocaching Whomever developed this app did an amazing job The only part I would add is that I wish there was a way to store Trail Quest passwords I love this app
The adds on the bottom of the screen scroll fast and gives you headache and eye sore Ridiculous for a state app I would expect this from a nongov site Sad will delete because its not worth using Stick with google maps and state park web site Junk
I have been a user of VA State Parks for years thought they couldnt get any better thern I found this app My kids go to college at U of VA and they turned me onto itwhat fun great features freind finder very interactive GPS that worked without mobile reception We found parks and activities we wanted with the Parks by Me that made our Saturday at the parks Great idea Highly Recommened Loved the app
No way to disable auto content updates App is unusable during updates If you are in the middle of no where then you might wait forever just to be able to use this app It needs to allow you to disable autoupdates so that it can be used in poor to no reception areas Use it at home figure out where you are going and download the info from there That way the info is on hand when you get to your destination Support seems to have an attitude about this and I have given up after several emails back and forth This has the potential to be a very good all around app for those who use the Virginia State Park system But they should not force the auto update socalled feature on you I will be removing this app and hoping for changes in the future worthless

This app was perfect for my camping weekend We downloaded trail maps and figured out what activities we wanted todo Took sometime to upload but just be patient and it will work like a charm Love it

Not sure about the other comments on update time because it updates quickly for me in seconds and the content is very up to date There are amazing gps maps that you can cache for use in no or low cell conditions Great tool to explore the outdoors Great app
The interface is clunky and it takes extra effort and time to get to what you want to know I tried to find the nearest state park to me to find the hours using the map and it was almost useless I had to go through 5 more screens of options to find what I wanted to know A well designed app would have streamlined that process and a properly designed and programmed map would have streamlined the process Could be worse needs work
All you get is the first page with an Updating Content message Id love to tell you about a wonderful GPS feature but I cant even get there Id love to tell you about all the info you get on each state park but I cant even get there PLEASE either fix this app or dump it make a mobile version of your website Simply Does NOT work
So clicking the explore my zip code button just brings up car dealerships and hotels I figured it would bring up local parks So I tried a different method No dice I selected activities for an area and nothing If I select a park manually it just takes me to an outer website Not too great of an exploring app Sad
The feature for trail tracking and guide is very useful for me I like it And also it give a full direction for new visitors when they go to state parks Great Trail Experience
This app offers a lot of information for trip planning You can check out the parks and events before you go or download trail maps after you arrive Some features take time to load be sure to cache your maps while you have a good internet connection Lots of information
I recently went down to VA to visit my family to check up on them after a close family member of mine passed away a few months ago Being with them brought back memories of my childhood and the trips we would make to VA to visit my cousins For the longest time I couldnt recall the places we had visited I downloaded this app just for reference at first and the maps of course and as we traveled to the different locations in VA i was able to mark these spots on the map so i could always find my way back in the future Its a great app Priceless memories Rekindled Memories

I love the gps sharing option Ive been sharing all my trails with friends and its great Ive found updates on larger apps are normal so it really doesnt bother me very much Awesome app
Id love to see a version optimized for the iPad Id even pay between 099199 for such an app Id also like for a way to favorite certain parks so I dont have to remember the names and can revisit them in the app Because of those two missing features Ive knocked off a star Another negative is that the reservation feature really just takes you to DCRs website in a small low resolution window to make your reservation It isnt truly a reservation app Id almost prefer the reservation feature to just launch safari with the proper campsite pulled up Thats why I knocked off another star All in all however its a great app for looking up campground info and for maps Now if theyd only make one for Maryland Great app but

If youre an outdoor lover like me youll LOVE this app It makes exploring the outdoors so much easier GPS Mapping has been awesome Wonderful
All I wanted to do was download a guided tour and map of First Landing State Park It was way way way too hard to figure out how many things I had to click on just for this information After wasting 45 minutes I finally figured out I need to download a 28 mb file of a cached gps map and guide Im still not sure how to get back to that menu It took forever to download and after it got 90 of the file it stopped completely and I never was able to get back So overall this app wasting my time my patience and my bandwidth This app ruined my visit to an otherwise amazing park Very complicated

I cant believe how much information is available in this app Things that I wouldnt even think to look for are so accessible who knew that different areas of the park have different closing times This app As an avid hiker Ive done a lot of research on trails before I visit an area and that has often involved annoying maps but now that I have a family Im trying to introduce to trails its nice to have all the trails in one easy place especially when its about a place so close to home This app takes out the guesswork and the time whether were planning a family outing or spontaneously show up I cant wait to see what the other state apps will look like when we finally get around to road tripping Love it

I was surprised to find the amount of GPS features available in this free app I have downloaded apps like it and not to mentioned paid for them to get GPS features This is a nice app I was able to track and record my hikesVery cool to review my trail track and time on the map after I was done This app is definitely worth the download Its very dynamic and one more thing worth mentioning is the community of park goers that its attracting on their Facebook page They seem to have competitive outdoor challenges going off from time to time to get involved with If youre like me and like lots of features and gadgets I would just trying it out Great GPS Features
