Needs an update for IOS6 and Iphone 5 but still a great app                 Great app
So many ads it makes the application virtually unusable Every navigation action seems to result in an ad        So many ads
Too much advertising     Irritating
used to be one of my favorites terrible now for the above reason     Ad after every single click ruins great app
Crashes even after restarting device then to rub it in asks if it can use ones location        Crashes
Wont work     Crashes all the time Wont open
I emailed the scoop to let them know about this 2 weeks ago and they responded to say it should work Welp it still doesnt Please fix     Crashes every time I try to open it
I adore this app The arts listings are concise and uptotheminute and it geolocates its excellent recommendations I suggest The Scoop to all newcomers to New York and tourists especially museum and gallery goers and families with kids Unfortunately its perpetually buggy and crashes often on launch Deleting the app and reinstalling it fixed this for a period of time but Ive deleted and reinstalled it about 5 times now Hope the NYT will debug it soon                 A must for arts enthusiasts visiting NY
Well organized                 My goto app for a day off
Installed the update introduced today and now the app opens to the splash screen and then crashescloses Wanted to check out the new Citi Bike section     Updated now crashes
Both the data in the app which is also available on the NYT Web site as the layout of the app are wonderful However there is a major bug in parsing the persistent data of the app After marking the stuff you did for a couple of days to weeks the app crashes upon startup and only deleting the app and reinstalling it fixes it I reported this issue and volunteered to help debug the problem but the developers werent interested and havent fixes the issue in well over 12 months     Really great app But crashes after a couple daysweeks
Organized and well curated lists to do in the city for fellow hyperactive New Yorkers Excellent app to get you inspired and going What an excellent resource                 Love it
I keep downloading the app cause I appreciate the content and have never been disappointed in the recommendations but it crashes constantly Wish they would fix it              Great resource but crashes often
App crashes upon loading Love the content though please fix        Crashing
New York Times takes months to update a simple app No longer works Booooooo Shame     Crashes on iOS 8
Love The Scoop                 Scoop
I cant seem to open app I have in the past and enjoyed using it Is there a problem with the site                 Ms
While the app contains very useful information the Citibank ad that appears between every single screen swipe is obnoxious overkill Yes we know they are the sponsors of the app but having their ad in our face for more than half the screens with no way to hide the ad is extremely off putting and greatly diminishes the usability of the app        Too much Citi
With every touch an add pops up Its impossible to use now Use the web version instead     New ad scheme horrible
This app is great for finding quirky different fun and oneofakind things to do in NYC that youd have a hard time find on apps like Yelp or TripAdvisor I used to use this app when it first came out I think for iPhone 1 back in 08 and never deleted it from my on my iphone apps but after moving away from NYC it kind of fell into disuse I was recently back in NYC on a work trip and had a few spare hours to kill I whipped out the latest and greatest usercurated things to do app that I had recently downloaded Beautiful UI but the suggestions were painfully obvious tourist things like visit the Top of the Rock see the New York Public LIbrary I ended up wandering aimlessly around the Village and SoHo like I usually do having already seendone most of the familiar It wasnt until I traveled back home later that evening looking back with amazement that I had difficulty finding something interesting to do spur of the moment in the most interesting city in the world that I thought to pull out NYT The Scoop And the recommendations they gave were things that would have never even occurred to me without the help of the NYT staff Get lost among the stacks at the strand Get steamed at Russian and Turkish baths etc Cant wait for my next trip to put this app back to use                 Fell in love with this app again
This was once a great app for finding the best restaurants coffee bars or events the city has to offer A recent update now requires you to manually click to skip past a fullscreen ad EVERY single time you navigate within the app Its annoying enough to render the app useless I know you need revenue NYT but this just isnt the way     Used to be great now useless
App crashes upon opening Cant use it at all I have an IPhone 5S and am using the IOS 8     New version crashes
Love this app Its updated regularly with new interesting places to check out I use it all the time its never steered me wrong              The Scoop
I love this app It got me started in NYC and used to being here Great info especially about food                 Getting started
I used to like this app great recommendations of good NYC spots I might not have otherwise founds I had one complaint not enough stuff above 96th St There are good restaurants and spots up here and people but NYT sometimes acts like we dont exist But now theres a huge Citibank ad that pops up every time you click something and wont go away rendering the app unusable        An ad after every tap
I would give this app a much higher rating except for the following very annoying feature each time you Tap to a new page the Citibank advertisement pops up which requires tapping again before you can get to what youre looking for This happens even after I open the Citibank ad and viewed it It happens after Every Single TAP Highly annoying        Great potential
Im a heavy user and early adopter of apps seeking out cool stuff to do on frequent trips to nyc and The Scoop is my handsdown favorite In the age of infooverload the excellent curation here had allowed us to discover so many cool things in the city My favorite section is Only In NYC if you could rotate in a few more picks there it would be much appreciated since that is a phenomenal list                 Love The Scoop
The best for both who visits NYC and those who live here                 For New Yorkers
That CitiMobile ad has killed this app for me I used to look herefor suggestions on bars and restaurants and now its so annoying that I am taking it off my phone Byebye Useless     Used to be good
A really fun app for some off the beaten path things to do in NYC I particularly like the Spring section which I assume will change with each season                 Great NYC app
No problems with crashing but I would love a way to save a list of things to do for later kind of like how you can create lists bookmarks on Yelp and Foursquare Good content Update Sept 2014 the content needs to be verified and updated Two things classified as newly listed 5 Pointz and the Rose reading room at NYPL are closed and have been for some time        Just ok
I once loved this app but being forced to skip Citibanks ad at every transition infuriates me I expect more from the NYTs     CitiBank Ad Ruins Experience
Great content attractive and intelligent arrangement Simple to use Bingo Nice job NYT                 The best NYC arts app Ive found
Only crashes Please update it     Not loading anymore
Never trust yelp reviews this app has the best restaurant recommendations and always updated with new and good places                 Love love love
I really love the app The reviews and suggests are great and varied BUT I want a section to bookmark places I want to gothings I want to do that I can easily reference back to later           Great app but needs bookmarks
The new version crashes instantly rendering the app unusable     New version crashes instantly
Used to be great but as others note now theres the same Citi ad at every screen swipe Really annoying Ruins the experience     Citi ad Citi ad Citi ad
A very good city app that gives users a comprehensive listing of places in the city App allows for easy marking of a place of interest allows for ease of messaging a contact with a place of interest and for many places provides a link to the New York Times article written on the place of interest so readers can get even more information on whether they might like the place              NYTimes Scoop
Keeps crashing Please fix     Used to be great now crashes
Its brilliant Ive never felt the need to rate an app but this is a must have if you really want to experience the little beauties of NY Thank you for creating this app                 I love it
Just gives a list of places around NYC No way to know whats good Hard to find whats nearby Removed     Useless
Love Oliver Strands coffee recommendations Please keep adding more Mr Strand You skipped some good ones in park slopegowanus crop to cup root hill cafe postmark cafe 474 naidres cafe gorilla coffee cafe regular cafe regular du nord cafe martin cafe dada de luxe more noella brew bar konditori x2 roots cafe kos kaffe red horse cafe                 best coffee app
Ive used this app for a couple of years and gotten some very good tips Now I cant even get it to open     Somethings gone wrong
Well its hard to believe it took them this long to finally hire sone real interaction designers and come up with a useful well done app that doesnt crash or publish weird unfinished work as their NYTimes iPad app does all the time The NYTimes has the worlds best writers and huge stores of knowledge and resources about NYC and this app conveniently and simply puts many of them at your fingertips A few things Id like to be able to set my own location so even if I am traveling somewhere else in the world I can get NY local info and advise others Currently only seems to read my GPS location halfway around the world and of course tells me there is nothing nearby Also there should be a search by food type drop down menu so vegans or those who only eat a certain kind of food or are looking for a specific ethnic food can find it Overall I love this free app better than bigger clunkier urban daddy apps Ive already planned several day trips for when I return and can highly recommend you give it a spin              Finally a NYTimes app thats good
Used to love The Scoop but it crashes now Unusable     Loved it but it crashes
NYT we love you but the app wont work on my phone Clean install first time wont even open     Crashes immediately after install
Loved it before iOS 8 Still crashes on 83     Great when it doesnt crash
Crashes every time I try to open it     Crashes
Keeps crashing upon opening     Deleted
