Highly recommended Very handy and well written for a newbie like me Even if you dont have a Nikon D40 there is a lot of information that can be applied to general photography I also recommend that you get your goodies through Kens site as he sure puts in a lot of effort to help all of us and he asks very little just search Ken Rockwell and youll find him I would give this App more stars if there was a button for it Thank You Ken                 Nikon D40 Guide
Im giving this one star because for free you can get much more detailed information on his website From a value standpoint this isnt a great app For 99 maybe this couldve been better but priced at 499 I was expecting everything on his website other features and information DO NOT PURCHASE THIS UNLESS FOR SOME REASON U NEED THE INFO WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES     NO VALUE BECAUSE ALL OF THIS IS FREE ON HIS WEBSITE
Geez you guys are impossible Yes the info is available at the authors wonderful web site which itself is well worth a 5 contrib But this version is infinitely more convenient and organized and usable on my iPhone Well worth 5 for that usability And the great info and great web site are worth still more Im pleased as punch to have this handy info in my pocket ready to call up on a moments notice when Im shooting 5 is a steal How can anyone possibly not want and love this Sorry to rant                 A Steal
App only covers basics for novices who have no idea how to use an SLR Advanced tipstricks are sorely lacking Good price for this info would be 199 max Nikon Learn and Explore is much more beneficial and free        Handy but Not Worth 5
Thanks Ken I use your site religously                 Thanks
Great Ken did it again with some help of course I cant imagine going out with my Nikon D40 without the new guide on my IPod Touch Thank you Ken for a great product Don                 Nikon D40 Guide
Well worth the money in order to have this handy at all times Plus buying this allows Ken Rockwell to continue his website giving us way to much info for free                 Great to have in my pocket
This is a great start for a source to improve my photography Im hoping that the app might provide more detailed settings ie aperture in the form of perhaps in app purchases In any case this app is welcome                 Happy to have on my iPod
If you own the d40 get this now Well written and complete                 Excellent guide
This is all great information but I can barely read it WITH my glasses on indoors I can only imagine how much harder it would be to read in the field where it is really needed Great content but please use larger fonts Five stars if easily readable           Great information BUT very difficult to read small font used in text portion
Im so VERY excited that I now have all if this info on the go I frequent the website but an app is sooooo much easier                 Lve
I always considered myself a serious amateur photographer but after taking pointers from Ken Rockwell sprinkled throughout the NIKON D40 GUIDE Im even better and my pictures are even better I have learned many tips about digital photography and the controls of the camera that have produced richer colors in my pictures Thank you Mr Rockwell                 Ken Rockwell Rocks
Ken is the man He knows anything and everything about cameras He writes in a way that everyone can understand As a beginner I read his website up and down So excited to have this up with me at all time incase I forget something Thanks Ken                 Love it Must have
I use Kens D40 guide as a reference Having it available offline as an app is a huge bonus Thanks Ken                 Excellent app
I dont even own a D40 but I bought this to see how Ken would incorporate his shooting advice style into a app the result is fantastic This app has great shooting information for the D40 and is easy to use and browse Im looking forward to this same style app for the D90 and D700 I own both of those bodies and having an app for those would be tremendous Thanks Ken              Great
I have read Ken Rockwells site for years and loved his D40 guide when it first came out The D40 was my first dSLR The iPhone app version is very refined intuitive and pleasing to use The app navigates great and it is super convenient to have in your pocket however the content is where the real reward is With this guide absolutely any novice can easily learn to use ALL the sophiticated features found on this amazing camera within the first few days I know because I was one of them Even though I have moved on to the D300 I still use my D40 often The second I saw this guide was available for the iPhone I bought it despite having read the guide countless times I just hope Ken puts out more of his info onto the App Store You Rock Ken                 Rock solid
Not much more than the website but cool to have on the phone Giving this a 4 just because of the website Thanks for the advice Ken made my first photo sale              Considering it my donation
Well worth the 5 Im so happy to have this on my phone for on the go Yes its true you could get most info on his website but since you gain all that knowledge from his website shouldnt you donate 5 anyhow I bought my Nikon D40 because of Kens website and couldnt be happier Thanks Ken                 Thank You Ken
This covers it all I have used this camera extensively and this guide leaves no voids in what you need to know to use this camera effectively                 No Other Guide Needed
Im going to rate this app on its own merit regardless of the info being available for free As a beginner in photography Ken is the first that I could find that gives concise yet very useful information This app is simplicity at its best and accomplishes what it sets out to do educate us newbies Asthetically the app is attractive and is laid out well As for the info being free on his website I also dont mind the 499 price tag This info is worth far more based on the books Ive looked at and purchased Also the app is a navigational upgrade although thats not to say his site is difficult to nav I just prefer the app to the site Summary Well designed app great content easy to understand info worth 1015 at least ie well worth the money                 Excellent Photo App
I am embarrassed that I paid for this There is nothing here that did not come with the camera body and I bought mine used I can only hope that free updates with f stop tables and general photography tips are in progress     Minimum
Worth 99 cents IMO     Save your money
I expected more hands on tips not just a user manual Please update with example photos annotated with settings you used to improve them Right now the app is for people who have never held a camera before Also a lot of explanations eg filters are just links to the authors website Annoying waste of 5     Not satisfied
This is a simple yet very informative application Been a big fan of Ken for a while now and I am happy to see this actually happen Great job to Ken and his team I will be the first ones to purchase the Nikon D700 app when it comes out From DanC                 Simple yet informative
Ken I love your website Ive always felt like I should make a donation in return for the great info you provide and purchasing this app seemed like a good way to do that But it would be much appreciated if you could add some advanced features to this app like a calculation for the correct parameters based on the ambient light sensor in the iPhone or some additional reference tables etc Keep up the great work              Nice app but could be better
Ken Rockwell did an exceptional job with this app Its tremendous to always have the guide handy on my iPhone while out shooting I forget small details and love having this comprehensive reference available at all times Highly recommended Great job Ken                 Premium D40 Guide
I appreciate all of your work and advise                 Ken is the bests
