New In Chess Books & Files

In the app store they show the book Invisible Chess moves so you think it is included with this app but then you have to buy the book it would fine if they used the picture of a book included in the free app but the app is sort of useless     just a sorry ereader

Good but it crashed on my iPhone 5           New In Chess

New In Chess is one of the best chess publishers out there so the available content for this app is at the top and the only reason I could rate it as high as three stars Without that content I couldnt go better than one For starters the app requires you to work in landscape mode and will not rotate to portrait This results in a minuscule book page on the left about half a page is visible and a game board on the right Cant zoom either of them so I hope your eyes can read the typeface theyve chosen The page turning is clumsy have to swipe cant tap and then the page animation doesnt match the swipe It peels up and to the left like youre tearing off a page The game board on the right has a big text box with no text in it you want to read the annotations look away from the board back left to the book Its also lacking a nice consistent and obvious method for entering into and exiting subvariations Jump to end for example goes to the end of the line not the end of the variation youre looking at Its a shame such good content has to be trapped inside an app that does so little to take advantage of the media its in           Great content truly obnoxious app

This is a great App Clear text and illustrations and everything synchs up perfect with the game board Looking forward to more titles One enhancement however would be if you could rotate the board so you could look at the game from the side you were studying Hopefully that will be in the next update              Great App

This and the echess App crushes every other chess app on iTunes thanks to a mix of superior technology other apps try and copy it but fail and an incredible choice of top notch books Tap to make moves and the prose automatically scrolls create notes highlight instructive areas and so much more Nothing else comes close                 By Far the Best
