NETGEAR Genie HD for iPad

How about an advanced link to my router From the genie I cannot set my PW I also agree with another reviewer on being able to boot a user If we have a friend over who is in need of a reminder about who is in charge it is a great way to send a message Finally why is it everytime I turn on Parental controls nobody can access the internet I have set my opendns to none and set the router to none but everytime I turn PC on we are all blocked I have to login to the router and turn it off           A bit too simple

This is a great app you can check your home wired and wireless connections and trouble shoot with ease                 Nice app

Genie provides a quick overview which is useful but really wish it could provide connection level data usage statistics so I could track usage by device or user and search for the culprits using up my data allowance           Useful tool wish it provided more info

The other day some friends came to visit In less than five minutes and without leaving my comfy chair I had our guest network turned on and my guests connected                 Keeps getting better and better

This is a really simple app to keep up with network settings and connections Running about 11 or 12 devices including extenders and power lines the genie makes it simple to see how efficient each connection is I agree with an earlier review that it would be nice to see whats on the 24 and 5 ghz bands I had a bit of a problem with labeling my thermostats no icon for those other than network device but information about their connectivity helped me configure an extender to maximize their signals Good app overall              Keeping tabs on the network

Ive been trying to utilize the readyshare feature and it will either crash part way through the download of a file or it will crash when it tries to play the video after it has been downloaded Crash crash crash crash Amazing feature gone to crap     Crashes Frequently

I especially like the parental and access controls Would be nice if it were a bit smarter at identifying network devices but its still great nonetheless              It works

I havent had any crash issues It was easy to configure and appears to be secure Its all about the app and this app seems to allow easily configure the router The real interest for me is the ease of the use of the router in my home              So Far So Good

Downloaded this to use with Netgear WNDR3400V2 that Im using as the wireless access point for our home network Readyshare feature is accessible from an iPad 2 and iPod Touch 5 using this app Able to upload photos and videos to the Readyshare storage drive using an 8G USB for now Transferring photos and videos between the iPad and iPod with the apps Turbo Transfer was almost effortless it limits you to ten per action so youll want to make a note of where you left off if you have a lot to transfer between devices Getting stuff uploaded to the Readyshare storage is one transfer at a time and a bit tedious but its the only app that has worked so far with this modem Could not find a way to get photos from Readyshare all the way in to the Camera Roll It puts everything coming from the Readyshare into a download folder within the app The PC desktop application doesnt work at all on my system it cant find the WNDR3400V2 behind the gateway Will figure it out later The modem is supported according to their website If you have one of these modems this app is worth exploring              Good so far

I find this app very useful on managing my networks I like how simple it is to control my networks I am only giving it a 4 star as there are additional features I would love to see 1 On the Network Map be able to tell if a device is on my 24G or 5G networks as well if they are on the main or guest networks 2 Be able to kick some one off of my network on the Network Map              Usefull

After recent update network map hangs and wont load     Net gear update

I like the app as there are lots of convenient controls like blocking a device rebooting limiting volume and parental controls without having to go through the whole computer rigmarole                 Lots of controls

The app was working fine until the recent update I was able to limit the use of my children on my network through the network maps but recently I havent been able to pull it up Know I am unable to block my network which is why I bought Netgear If it doesnt change soon I will be forced to go to another company        Fix the app

I am impressed with my Netgear router I would have 4stars if my apple products could print through the AirPrint function I cant print to my Brother printer through the Genie app           Netgear Genie is great

The instruction manual that you can download says there is a button for router settings but there is not There is one for network settings but it is very limited This app is a waste of time So far the only thing Ive been able to do with it is set up a guest login The traffic meter does not work Each time I access its off and I have to turn it on it goes through a 90second countdown and reports zero traffic Same thing the next time it use it Never records any traffic Youre better off using router loginnet using password for the password and making any changes from a real control panel But the traffic meter still doesnt work     Can not access router settings

Keeps shutting down whenever I try anything Cant even open the traffic meter without it crashing     Not worth much

I am very happy to have an app like this to manage my router especially including parental controls The addition of the bypass controls for each device is very welcome Online support pages do not make it clear however that the service offers only one level of controls for everyone connected to that router and then bypass accounts an admin can set up for certain users who then can get in by device A person with a bypass account has to first install this app then log in to the router itself then log in to their own bypass account to get around the main set of controls Also within five minutes the app led me into two places where there was no button to go back to a starting point home or dashboard I had to double click the ipad physical button swipe up to close the app and then reopen it to get back in to the Home point on the app However I am sure they will improve it and I am thankful it is available           Handy App But a Few Bugs

It is a handy app Watching most videos on an attached HD works great However it plays only the audio portion of some video formats Also photo viewer is slow and crashes if you have a lot of photos           Handy but

I read some of the reviews about this app not being inclusive enough but as long as it deals with the netgearseamlesslythere is no room to complain Very easy to install and dead simple to configure              No complaints

AirPrint is not showing up as an option in Genie I was on the line with technical support for one hour and 25 minutes Their suggestion was to go buy a new modem She asked if she could help me with anything else I thought about giving her a piece of my mind But instead I said no and disconnected the live chat session So much for technical support     AirPrint not option in Genie

Just upgraded now the app immediately crashes on my ipad Plz fix           Upgrade crashes

I love net gear genie so much Its a fantastic router                 Netgear

room for improvement here be nice if they included devices such as Roku or other network devices too Would also be nice if Netgear allowed email to their tech support even if your product is out or just about out of warranty If you have a product that is outside their installation support the hardware warranty they provide is mostly only if you subscribe purchase their additional services Poor move on their part I have gone back to Dlink products not as glitzy as Netgear as long as it is functional              would be nice if

Its handy for simple stuff but if you need to anything useful you go to the web page I like the map feature              Pretty Good

Basically no functionality and issues saying I need to relogin or that features are unsupported Paying 230 for a modemrouter for their highestend should justify these features     Worthless for C6300

Functionality seems intact at inception have yet to give it a full test drive Installed primarily to utilize parental controls Have not put those into full qa mode yet              Seems to work well

For some reason I cant select Windows PC when choosing the description for my devices I keep tapping it but it will not register     Cant select Windows PC

It a good app I told my cousin about it                 I love it
