Dont know the object or how to win I keep losing        Knights defense

Knight Defense takes the best of chess and tower defense and turns the two into something truly original and exciting I may not be a fan of the glow graphics and the rather barelooking screen but once the action starts it ceases to be nothing more than a minor quibble In some ways this is an interesting alternative to what battle chess would be like You have chess pieces carrying out the same functions but have special abilities that you can apply in a given battle scenario For example the bishop heals nearby pieces while the pawns can freeze advancing enemies You can continuously upgrade your pieces to several degrees with the points you earn and max out your upgrades after eight levels In addition to the varied chess formations on the board the graphics and sounds have a retro feel to them reminding you that youre not playing chess The aesthetics of the game are a mix between retro and campy but again you play this for the heady action and the tactical thrills of chess ramped up and ready to get your heart racing The sheer fun of letting loose with the big guns through some smart strategy makes this game addictive and simply difficult to put down There are enough levels and endless ways by which you can replay a level to maximize your tactical positioning and the special skills your pieces possess This is one of the most memorable and engaging tower defense games Ive tried in recent memory and as a frustrated chess player wannabe Knight Defense offers a unique approach to the timeless board game and gives it a fresh new twist Simply a must have this game is highly recommended                 Chess on steroids TD

Being a serious chess player I tend to shy away from games that use chess pieces other than the real thing for fear of subconsciously mixing up my gut strategies and hurting my game However I am also a big fan of tower defense games so I had to try this when I saw the visuals Having played the game for a couple hours I can say that chess players need not fear a mixup of strategy because the similarity of game mechanics only goes as far as the way the pieces move and the 8x8 grid There are no turns and the computer isnt even using pieces that follow your rules of movement Im not sure that I have a solid strategy yet but thats probably a good thing The leader boards are a nice feature All in all very solid and Im looking forward to updates Definitely try this one out especially if you catch it during the 099 sale                 A unique defense game

Highly recommended I was intimidated by the seeming similarity to chess but the gameplay itself is not chessbased its kore of a strategy tower defense game I love TD games and I anticipate spending some time with this one                 Excellent

Im a huge fan of tower defense games but I was getting tired of the same stuff with different graphics This is a totally original combination of chess and tower defense Looks great and has really fun gameplay A must buy                 Finally an original TD game

Great graphics and super responsive even when the screen gets busy Early levels are a but easy but get harder I dont play too many games more than once or twice but Ive had this for over a week and I come back              Really pretty fun

This is a fun take on the tower defense genre The chess pieces allow for a fresh defense mechanism It turns out to often be a fastpaced defense requiring lots of tapping so not requiring the highly strategic placement I expected but I call it worth the buy              Unique take on tower defense

This takes battle chess to the next level If you have played chess and once you played this game youll totally youll understand the importance of positional play This game is where chess and arcade explode into action You dont need to play chess to really enjoy this incredible game play Its simple to learn and yet its beyond fun to see your powerful pieces destroy the red enemy one by one but be careful not to let your enemy too close to the King otherwise its game over                 Love chess

Great concept and a refreshing take on the tired Tower Defense genre The app store needs more developers like these who can take an original idea like Chess TD and turn it into something playable and fun I do wish that the game had original music instead of stock jingles and the interface could be a little more polished but for what it is its great Tons of levels global high scores and achievements should keep you busy for quite a while Highly recommended                 Finally some originality to the TD genre

Ok Runs real smooth it is a td but different you can move and atteck like their obvious counterparts enemies spawn from various points limitless spawning until you move a fully powered piece into a position that threatens check the spawn point Then the boss comes out You must protect your king and the enemies will always head towards him enabling you to direct the flow There are piece specific abilities used to slow shocketc the enemies I played to medium difficulty then died and came to tell you guys that well I like it However I did notice there are only 15 stages to my knowledge Overall well polished game addictive gameplay I am quite satisfied with my purchase Thank you dev                 Its different I approve Buy it Its as affordable as soda

Chess In space With lasers and lightning No this isnt Starcraft but its just as addicting Im sure Tons of fun so glad I got it If only there were more levels because its just so much fun                 Worth it

Who would have thought anyone could have taken a classic strategy game and made it into an engaging arcade game Well Knight Defense does it Fast gameplay yet still requires strategy and thinking ahead plus mastery of how each piece functions in relation to the other pieces on the board If you take the time to read the instructions for the game and dont forget to scroll down past the image of the playing board to read the details about each of the pieces and play through the training puzzle youll get the hang of this quickly but you will spend hours mastering the strategy of this exciting twist on chess Kudos from this reviewer                 Checkmate

The learning curve is a little demanding but the game is fantastic deep innovative and addictive                 Deep and addictive

This is a challenging but yet at the same time interesting and fun game The whole chess board over tower defense type concept is pretty unique and different than most other generic games on here Overall I have played for several hours now and can fully recommend this to anyone                 Underrated

Not another TD with a twist A creative new play dynamic that is something like a realtime chess Defending the King is the primary goal but it isnt about creating twisty mazes for the bad guys The pieces move and threaten squares as they would on a chessboard but neither sides pieces are simply taken both sides pieces have a life bar and take damage Pieces also upgrade in the course of a level Very fastpaced and easy to get started but becomes challenging pretty quickly Loving it                 Truly Innovative Gameplay

Remember Battle Chess on the PC yeah I miss those days This game is a combination of chess placing the pieces in the spaces that correspondends with the actual science of chess and tower defense eg protecting the King The game is mediocre at best The battle animation is nothing more than chess pieces spinning as theyre getting attacked by other chess pieces and you see the energy bar drop I would have been more excited if the chess pieces came alive like Battle Chess and walked across the board and fought There is absolutely nothing special about this game at all and was removed from my Ipad 4 after 2 hours of game playing try to make myself like it           Nothing special some elements of chess

For those who play chess and want something a little less mentally engaging than the classic game              An Absolute Blast

It might be the fact that to a great extent this game is based on chess like strategy tho its not a chess game per say I dont play play chess nor have I ever felt the interest in it so take this rev with a spoon of salt if you are So for me I have absolutely no idea what I am supposed to be doing in this so called TD version of chess and now that I say it isnt chess like the first TD game invented So the fact that I dont like chess nor understand how to play this game based on the 2cents of knowledge I do have of the game chess but love TD games makes me some kind of walking oxymoronic ironic contradiction But none the less for free from what was only 99cents I waisted my time in worst ways Ill try to give it another go when I get bored with the other games on my iPad which shouldnt be to long as iPad games have been dead for over a month I know cause my games of choice are fps and racers for the last 10 years since I started gaming and for the last month all I can bare to play is farm story and its Well a farming game come on iPad specific games for the last month and since launch if it werent for gameloft not that their pushing out their HD titles in any hurry just the same have been a huge let down for me all these amateur developed games for the iPad are starting to take its tollit feels like 2008 up in here and the devs that actually have a few notches on their belt and arent just making some cool neat twisty style game seem very comfy with iPhone 4 retina display opposed to coughing up the extra dough to develop an iPad versions No real offense to this dev specific I mean two years ago yea I was open to these gimmicky games for a buck or for free but I want head to toe games now no matter what anyone says this is the new portable gaming deviceiPhone and touch Two years ago you could argue content and grfx compared to the psp and ds but about the only thing the idevice hasnt proved it could do just as well as any portable gaming device in history is buttons big deal grampa this type of game concept style is for the birds just make a TD or a chess game why waist your skill on such a generic and experimentally chaotic hobby product its like putting to many nuts on a brownie just to be creative or having 5 different flavors of soda in a cup yea it taste different and funky but eventually we grow up and just get the coke root beer etc make a game not a gimmick I dont even play chess but I have never seen a chess game in the store with vector neon colors do that make it in 3D I play tons of td games but never one with splash screen fx as vibrant as this for the iPad mind you there is no HD version of geo swarm so do that But this game for me is to much clutter trying to be to many things at once ruining the overall fun factor for the average standard strategy gamer I hope Im not coming off to ungrateful that I got this game for free but its obvious you have skill as a developer As a gamer I just hate to see it waisted when there is such a shortage of iPad specific games to speak of when I see something HD these days Im hoping for the holy Grail but any decent game would do I hope your next game you take into consideration that to make money and get your game noticed you have to start with something traditional build a fan base then dabble in something of your own interest My point is the game was only 99cents in a barren waist land of the iPad market now its free and you still can count the reviews on your fingers go back to the drawing board traditional with flare not gimmicky with a flare of traditional And sorry again I know talk is just that but like I said this twist to what ever kind of game its supposed to be is similar to your gramma buying you a 90 dollar wool sweater when you wish she would have just given you 50 bucks cash I just want a TD           It may be a 5 star but I cant dig it
