The Multnomah County Library is now available as a free download on Apple Store for both iPhone and iPad owners.The application is available in multiple languages: English, French, German. It weighs in at only 4.7 MB to download. The new Multnomah County Library app version 4.68 has been updated on 2014-11-16. I dont know how it works on other devices but on Overdrive I cant finish one page before the app shuts down and it wont open in Safari even though the option is there Aggravating Works until you try to read an ebook

Buggy Yes Yet handy for simple search and hold or viewing your account Not great but workable
Oddly enough the app on my old google phone was better than this one for the iPhone as more often than not it doesnt allow access to my account and there is no way to add things to your list only to reserve items Ive had to reinstall 3 times in as many months to get it to work So far it is good for looking up items but has a hard time when you want to quickly check your account to see if anything is ready to pick up Needs improvement Lots of room for improvement

This app is absolutely great and is the best addition since the dewey decimal system Id love the addition of a search by a particular library of available books That would be the most useful sitting in an actual library A please add search by library available

Overall this is a serviceable app Some problems not enough information on each item in the description In the new PIN entry screen what used to be a very easy to use numerical keyboard they use your phone as PIN is now a traditional lettersfirst hard to use keyboard Why Why would you make something HARDER to use instead of simpler It defies logic this is the worst though as of the latest update the first results of any search are ebooks I dont use ebooks I dont want to use ebooks and its not what I use my library for When I want Anna karenina I want the first hit to be the book Its whats expected Dont force people into things Frustrated with recent updates

The search function is more difficult to use than the website there are no search options and it is difficult to find items unless you know the exact title author etc Also the placing holds function has a lot of bugs I very often get the network time out please retry and I when I retry Im told my hold was unsuccessful Then I go to my account to see that the hold was placed the first time Just a lot of steps for something that should be straight forward Not a great userfriendly app Needs Work
When you develop software for an everevolving platform youre expected to keep up with it This app has a terrible user interface confusing navigation and is a trip into the past of iOS 4 Horrible and outdated
This app is awesome so convenient Very easy to use
It logs me in just fine and I can manage my holds but the search needs a little updating When I search and then click on one in the list there is no back button I cannot go back to the list I have to do the search all over again Pesky But I still use it every couple days Works fine mostly
But it ultimately took a terrible turn I am REALLY REALLY disappointed in this app keeps saying the library card number is not right wrong password TERRIBLE interface overall I wouldnt recommend this app unless you want a book really bad Started out good

With the new clean library interface I have to decided to drop this app Im tired of the crashes The listing of holds on the new version makes much more sense When you are trying to place a hold there is a spinning wheel that is hard to see and often times out This interface is downright boring Annoying

I was skeptical The full site is utilitarian at best but I figured it couldnt hurt to try the iPhone app Got it used it love it and now Im recommending it to everyone I see with a library book tucked under their arm I do wish I could set a default library for pick up in my settings instead of choosing every time Also if there were a shaded box BEHIND the whirling computer is thinking circle icon then there would be fewer repeat attempts at reserving the same book Better than the full site

This app is very useful out the door and Im glad the developers focused on quality rather than quantity of features That said heres what Id like to see if they release an update Advanced search andor search filtering in catalog search results Icons next to search results to differentiate between multiple formats A browse section containing lists of featured materials by format andor genre For bonus points let me filter those lists to only show materials that are currently available at my local branch Add to my pull list button when viewing a title to place the callsign on a simple userfacing checklist so I can personally track down a list of titles while using the app inside a branch Solid foundation with room to grow

I love the Multnomah library system but this app is a dog The interface is nonintuitive and incredibly slow Network timeout messages are all too common often when trying to place a hold Hopefully this app gets an overhaul in the not too distant future Poor Design Slow
This app has always worked well for what I use it for Renewals holds searching library checking locations hours I dont have problems with it crashing Very pleased I love it

This app has several bugs that require attention It says it cannot place a hold after you choose a pickup location and yet if you go to your account the item will appear on the hold list Most recently when I try to place a hold on any item the app says technical difficulties as well as no items found Please fix these bugs Fix Bugs
