MoneyWell Express

After I updated to iOS 9 Moneywell stopped working Blank space cant view or enter transactions Unless it gets fixed I need a new mobile and desktop solution        Broke in iOS 9

Really irritating that new transactions default to an account I almost never use and no way I can find to change the default Other than that I really like this app              Much improved

MoneyWell for the iPhone is great for keeping track of items on the go Not so ideal for forecasting or looking up older items              Good Companion to Full Version

I like the idea of this app which would be handy Unfortunately its so slow syncing as to basically be useless It takes 20 min to sync a months worth of transactions from Dropbox        Useful but dog slow

Great app I paid for the desktop version which works in conjunction with this one and also got the iPad version Helps a LOT with budgeting Be very careful in where you place and name the initial desktop file Changing the location or name is a headache so it is better to set it up the way you want before starting the sync procedure I hope they are planning to optimize for the iPhone 6 devices which I plan to migrate to eventually                 Very useful

As a long time user of MoneyWell for Mac and for iPhone Ive seen the No Thirst teams dedication to providing a great envelope budgeting solution for today Of the various options on the App Store the current MoneyWell is the best available IMHO The developers worked through a season of persistent syncing issues a year or two ago and now have a very reliably syncing wellexecuted app The best feature is how it provides my wife and I with critical uptodate info at the point of decision eg at the store gas station etc we can make wise choices to keep within our budget because of this Thank you No Thirst My one request is for the iPhone app to allow me to transfer funds between buckets when Im out and about                 Very much worth it

I cant get this app to sync with my data on Dropbox Love the desktop version but this app has been VERY annoying seeing how I cannot even get it to start     Crashes every time

Ive tried several envelope and traditional finance tools from Quicken to Mvelopes Mint to Manilla iBank to Yodlee Moneywell is the besthands down My wife and I have just grown accustomed to thinking in terms of envelope or bucket budgeting Traditional financial software doesnt work for us anymore Moneywell is simple it works it has a Mac version that syncs with our iPads and iPhones When we wonder can we afford this we know our financial picture in a snap If you are an envelope budgeting you have got to get Moneywell                 Envelope budgeting at its best

Moneywell Express does an excellent job if letting me enter transactions when they happen I dont see it as a stand alone app but it works great as a companion to Moneywell on my Mac I do wish it would allow me to transfer between accounts so I didnt have to remember to go back and do that later I do want to respond to other comments about lack of development We have heard from the previous developer and the one who has taken over recently and I have high hopes for the continuation of the Moneywell products              Great for entering transactions on the go

No Thirst makes a great Mac app a wonderful iPad app and a frustrating iPhone app I cant see bucket flows or transfers so when there is a synch error I cant troubleshoot it I just have to delete the app again and redownload and reconnect to Dropbox It is worthy of doing this because synch works better than it has in the past but when two iPhones mine and my wifes have different bucket balances and the auto synch doesnt update we get problems I just dont like the look on my wifes face when I tell her I need her phone again for fifteen to twenty minutes so I can delete download setup preferences and synch then verify that balances are correct every two months or so           Faster over functional

What a great envelope budgeting app moneywell is indispensable for anyone wanting to keep track of all the comings and goings and stay within budget Tracking on the go with this app makes it that much better                 Great envelope budgeting app

Quicken who I love Moneywell and find it is much simpler to use Syncs beautifully I have it on all of my devices                 Fantastic productgreat price

My wife and I use this app daily to keep our checking account uptodate It works really well Unfortunately it hasnt been updated for iOS 7 let alone iOS 8 nor for the newest phones I hope this just means the developer is busy and not that theyve lost interest We love this app              Good app needs refreshed

I have used the app since version 1 They removed bucket transfers which is an essential feature to be truly able to use it away from the computer They also make this a companion app so that with out the desktop side it is useless The iPad app is better and almost like a desktop replacement or standalone It is much nicer than the iphone version I would give this a better score if it had functionality as a standalone app and if it had bucket transfers If the iPad and iPhone versions were universal And finally if they improved their responsiveness They have finally gotten this app to where it is a solid app but it took them a while and at times seemed like nothing was happening TLDR The app is good but not great it has the potential to be awesome What sets them aside from other programs is the interface and ease of use Where they lack is response and functionality        Decent companion app but lacks features

Ive been a MW user for years The previous owner just sold it and there is absolutely no word to the users on the sale or the roadmap The app hasnt been updated since iOS 6 and has usage and synchronization errors that occur all the time For example today I am being prompted for my sync password because of some random network failure Why would it need the password again In short this app acts like abandon ware It saddens me to write this after being a reasonably satisfied user for years and years but the fact is there are better options out there now for envelope budgeting     Buggy not updated in years

Program works as expected the Dropbox syncing just works Use on my macbook ipad and phone and my wifes ipad and iphone                 Moneywell works great

I appreciate the simplicity of this app It is exactly what you would expect it to be a way to enter transactions on the go I wish it had tags and receipt capture Its time for an update If you want a money management app to manage your huge investment portfolio this isnt it If you are trying to work your way out of debt and manage your monthly expenses Moneywell is the way to go I have used this app and the previous version for a few years and have found their tech support to be very responsive if not always able to solve my issue I was concerned about that aspect after hearing the application was for sale              Super helpful

Love the desktop app and this app ties into that I love the fact that I can enter transactions on the run and they sync back to my Mac I wish more banksdebit cards could sync with the app and save me from typing a bunch              Great on the go

Entering receipts is a breeze Use it daily Seeing whats going on while traveling is really nice Highly recommend this app and its big brother The tech support is amazing and responds quickly to any concerns                 Great Companion App

I know this is used to be in conjunction with the Mac software however it is still not as seemless as I would like 1 To do envelopes on the go it would be nice to be able to transfer money in and out of it 2 The sync function is not always reliable There have been time a transaction had been entered and then not shown up one one or more of my devices Makes the App pointless at that point It still needs work           Ok but still lacks functionality

I like the macbook version of Moneywell However the iphone version is really very basic and lacks few essential features I agree the most frequent feature you need is to enter the transaction But it would be nice to have flexibility to fill refill your buckets and transfer one bucket balance to another one just in case you need to do so Also it would be really nice to have feature where you can allocate funds to any bucket from expense bucket Otherwise it is a nice basic application to record transactions           Very Good App But needs few more features

I have used MoneyWell for the Mac for years Over the last couple of years I have tried on and off to integrate the mobile app into my workflow Unfortunately the app has been and continues to be mostly unusable for me Syncing just fewer than a dozen transactions between my Mac and iPhone LITERALLY takes over an hour I have emailed No Thirst Software for support but they have been unresponsive so I am leaving this review     Sync is terrible

I dont know of a more dedicated development team If only they were all like this                 Great desktop app and great mobile app

I love the Mac App 5 stars The iOS app is simply catching dust in a folder on my phone The user interface is stale No modern utility leveraging features that I would need Disappointed in the lack up updates           Mac App is Amazing iOS not required

Using the envelope bucket system digitally has really helped me plan out my financial goals in a way on other app has                 Changed money management for me

Ive been a MoneyWell MaciOS user three years now It works pretty well as a companion to the Mac version I can see how much is left in each bucket and enter transactions It also syncs without issue as of the last few versions They did take away the bucket fill option which was a step backwards and new features like iCloud Sync an iOS 7 UI and guessing the Payee based on location simply dont come fast enough I do receive sync errors every few months still v104 Support staff is very good at their site              Does what it says on the box

My favorite part is just being able to see exactly how much money I have in a bucket while Im out It can help to decide if I have the money to make the purchase or should I wait                 Love being able to see where my buckets are on the go

One of many portable MUST HAVE tools for mobile devices Very happy with this product bear in mind its not an ipad application which is currently in development but it works just fine as a portable register and budgeting tool which is what I use it for Latest version LOOKS crystal clear on an ipad too                 Bring your budget with you

I have enjoyed the usability of this programespecially the use of buckets for specific transactions that has made data entry easier because of autocategorization Also I deal with international currencies and this program works better than some others I have tried However the full capability to customize transactions is found on the desktop program so this app is best seen as an addition to that Syncing is relatively fast but occasionally wonky which might be due to the finickiness of the internet here in China rather than the app              Good companion to the desktop program

The best budgeting and banking app Ive ever used                 Simple clear and syncd

Great app in many ways but most importantly they clearly respect the data I have never experienced problems with my data Great performance even with lots of transaction history Four stars instead of five because it is possible to duplicate transactions if you download from your bank before the sync has finished if a download had occurred on another device and I think they could warn you about that but dont And because duplicate matching could be improved              Great Budgeting workflow and Great syncing

This app has grown longinthetooth and needs an update The last one was Dec 2013 Not sure what the hold up is or if the developer has had to greatly curtail work on this as well as the desktop and iPad sister apps But its never a good sign to invest in a program especially a financial solution thats waited this long with no update The UI needs an overhaul to match up with the iOS 87 standards as well as a possible TouchID solution In addition more robust data entry features are needed too Still it works very well both syncing and supporting the desktopiPad main apps as a data entry point and a current status device           Its ok as data entry but uncertain future
