If you use MIDI and always wondered how - and why - it works, MIDI 101 is for you Informative and entertaining, "MIDI Demystified" is a required tutorial for anyone looking to get the most ...

I m so glad that other reviewers mentioned being put off by the ummm humorous interludes which aside from being disruptive wasted a lot of time Definitely an excellent introduction for motivated beginners and those who use basic midi recording and editing but don t know enough to take advantage of its endless potential for composing and performing David Schwartz the author and presenter has obviously given a lot of thought to ramping up smoothly from one tutorial to the next He is an engaging and articulate presenter with a pleasant voice who gives the sense that he really cares that you get it Why he felt he needed to resort to some of the worst condescending and in some cases incomprehensible humor to what keep us engaged is something he and MacPro would have to explain In the first 30 percent or so of the videos his lucid explanations are continuously interrupted by attempts at comedy so lame that you dread the next one They only serve to derail his presentation and break the viewer s concentration One particularly annoying element is the constant interruption of an imaginary producer that is so awful and long that it becomes at least for me a bit infuriating                 Great for newbies and self taught dabblers but beware of the humor Jareditor
The skits are a little stupid But this is a great way to learn MIDI Worth the 10                 A layzeee
Mr Schwartz explains the basic concepts clearly but very very slowly If you don t understand the fundamentals of MIDI by the time you re finished with this video you re a moron That said this is definitely a beginners tutorial and will not turn you into an expert many types of CC are not covered at all Screen shots are taken using Logic but the info presented is not specific to any DAW or any other piece of gear Unfortunately the useful info in this tutorial is diluted by the inclusion of TONS OF UNNECESSARY SHTICK lame skits animations that add absolutely nothing to the learning experience The description boasts over 4 hours of tutorials but about an hour of it is pointless asides and embarrassing shtick that is neither informative nor entertaining Considering the price 9 99 when I purchased it you can certainly get better value elsewhere         Decent but shtick y Isaac Mell
