My school computer guy uses this to monitor their iPads and their computers     It s annoying michel0626
I am not sure if I am using the dashboard to its fullest extent but have questions that I can t seem to find answers to My main concern from the device itself and with restrictions enabled the end user can still go into Settings General Device Management and remove Meraki Management from the device It won t uninstall it and I will receive an email informing me that the profile has been removed I just feel like it shouldn t allow it to even happen I m probably just not understanding this as it is all still new to me and I m trying to figure it out as we go I ve loaded 17 devices which is about half I just need someone with more knowledge to help me out a little bit Otherwise it s been working pretty good Sometimes I find the location is wrong by a few states I m in Columbus Oh and sometimes it shows devices in Youngstown Oh or in Chicago Ill Which I can guarantee they aren t there when I have them here From the dashboard I click on Refresh Location but it never seems to do anything                     MDM is Great TrexBitch
Manages your easily walk off the campus iPads Kids hate it because they can t screw around on the school s hardware using apps that you do not allow nor can they find a way to get around it Gotta give it to the kids that take the time to visit the app store in order to skew the star rating Funny                     Kids hate Schools love GetsIt2Work

Cisco Meraki are really doing us a great service by giving this MDM away for free They do a decent job of keeping up with the changes and this allows us to manage our devices very well Can t ask for more                     Free MDM that really works kdboutel
Great compliment to MDM systems manager enrollment                 Gets the job done ClayRon
Does exactly what it s supposed to secures business organization education resources on a device The negative reviews are bunk they don t like being restricted to doing only the things they are supposed to                     Excellent Product HurricaneFloyd1234
The other review here make me laugh This app is doing exactly what it s supposed to This is a Mobile Device Management app that syncs with a server that is managed my a company or school s management platform for managing mobile devices It manages restrictions and tracks the device s location so that it can be recovered if lost or wiped if stolen If you hate this app you re probably doing something you re not supposed to on a device that doesn t belong to you                     Does what it s supposed to Jacey boy388

Please bring back the ability to install updates from the Managed Apps page The current version only allows installations of missing apps             Update command missing loadedthorn
For use with Meraki Systems Manager MDM you re using this app one way or another Some minor bumps Sometimes files in the backpack get stuck at Loading with no progress indicator status timeout or error This is frustrating to users who typically need something out of the Backpack when they re in a hurry Apps may show as Installed even when there is an error licensing region etc and the app is not actually installed on the device People find this confusing I wish the first screen wasn t the compliance and activity log The first reason users will open it is to fetch something from the Backpack so that should be the first thing they see                 Lightweight useful MDM agent thornrag
This stupid app restricts my iPad and looks down websites that aren t inappropriate It makes it easier for people to hack into my iPad If you type the password in wrong 6 times it restarts my iPad     Stupidest App Ever Stupid Road
I use Meraki Systems manager to manage over 3000 iOS devices for a school district I mostly like it However two latest versions of the iOS app removed some useful functionality 1 Removed the option in the app to manually reinstall the management profile This was very useful for the occasional device that just stops communicating with the MDM server for no apparent reason Since we re using Meraki in conjunction with Apple s Device Enrollment Program this means if a device needs the profile reinstalled I now have two choices wipe the device completely or if it s not on the current iOS version put it in recovery mode upgrade it with iTunes and hope that fixes it 2 Even with the app open in the foreground it no longer reports the local LAN IP to the Meraki management console website just the public IP When our WAN has 16 campuses all on separate subnets that was a useful functionality for tracking device location in the console Since the app won t give GPS location unless it s in the foreground I have to assign the device to a profile that puts it in single app mode locked into the Meraki app in order to even say more than Yup it s somewhere on our network             No more manual profile reinstall or reporting LAN IP gilean23
Before updating to this version PDF files displayed fine in the app After updating they do not display Instead they show a aspx extension The files are set as type PDF in Systems Manager     New version has Backpack issues mvhit
If you know how to use this it s a great tool for MDM                     Excellent Mooshu22
Still destroys battery with GPS 24 7 tracking We use this for tracking our company phones so the GPS stays on It destroys the battery Why can t it do a ping of where the user is at once asked not using the GPS 24 7 This is the only missing part         GPS kills battery POLARISpro489
Great app Very easy to understand and use David Lorea Farrington                     Great app Very easy to understand and use David Lorea Farrington
Don t be mistaken Meraki MDM is a MOBILE DEVICE MANAGEMENT software Meaning that if you install the application and are enrolled by someone you are generally signing your device off to said person All devices operating Meraki are able to be managed remotely All of your data is automatically encrypted to the main base or where the devices are being controlled from I e A Desktop Computer running as an administrator Aside from that Meraki allows for easy device management but is difficult to download if you plan to MANAGE devices yourself             Be Careful vencapital
The school makes it so they can see everything you do and its really creepy For school users only     Its crap Xillerate
My school required us to get this for our iPads and they can basically see everything on our iPad not let us get apps download apps delete apps and show exactly where we are so if your school makes you get it don t     Reasons not to get it Spankie35
My school required me to download this app We are also required to have a fully charged iPad for each day of class and we are penalized if the battery dies This app kills the battery so before the end of the day it s already dead This app needs many improvements including the option to include accept or decline certain things that it can do Need much improvement The review below this one was quite hilarious though     Battery killer Grimrival10
The best part about this app to me is the ability for a student to see a list of apps that have been assigned to them and they can re download them Before this app you would need to use the Meraki Dashboard to resend an app to a student who cancelled the initial Install prompt Also this makes Enrolling in our MDM a snap                     Perfect for forgetful students krislovescalifornia
Users I have deployed this to use iPhone 5s devices with 100 mophie juice packs They can no longer make it through a work day without charging their phones This compared to them being able to go at least two days without having to plug in before             Battery killer Ninjump BLOWS
The app installs ok but when trying to connect to the service an error occurs There is some issue with this app     Not functioning Aggroz
Location services On all the time     Location services CyberShadow1
Location services always running on the phone     No good Yoel Gelbman
Definite improvement                     Works great Deanboy3
If you use managed apps in meraki and you already have a meraki profile pushed to the iPad you can open this up and it will automatically find the profile But if push this app via VPP which I do so I don t have to touch 200 iPads to enter an iTunes username password it will not find the profile Also it keeps locations services on at all time I would make it check every 30mins to an hour to save battery life             Two big problems liamrp
Don t waste your time with other platforms This is simply the best                     Best MDM Mrinfotech
I don t really know what this does My school made me get it So Yeah                     Umm Cece1251
There have been a lot of improvements made on battery life and efficiency for this app I m definitely a fan Works great on iOS 7                     Fantastic PWhizzard
Does it report the Internet usage the sites visited if so where     Question Zim the zombie

So far no bugs or issues It has a simple GUI and clean look I love that with the app you can now pinpoint the location of the device using GPS not IP location like Desktop clients show up on the web interface Could use more features though Most importantly a passcode option so nobody can erase the profile from the app I see great potential Keep it up the great and free service Its amazing and a lifesaver for nonprofit networks                 Great and Simple
Great app Very easy to understand and use David Lorea Farrington                 Great app Very easy to understand and use
Before updating to this version PDF files displayed fine in the app After updating they do not display Instead they show a aspx extension The files are set as type PDF in Systems Manager     New version has Backpack issues
As other reviewers have stated if you turn on GPS tracking the location services will always be on and it will destroy your battery life If the app only did location polling when requested by the web interface or at specified intervals it would be much more useful feature As it stands it is quite unusable because of the effects on battery life Please fix the app as the systems manager is a great tool        GPS Polling Needs Work
The school makes it so they can see everything you do and its really creepy For school users only     Its crap
I really like the System Manager as an MDM and was happy to hear about the app to help with location services What I hope for in future releases is removing the ability for the user to turn off the location services Also I dont see a reason for location services to be active all the time why not on demand when needed Keep it up though              Has potential
The app installs ok but when trying to connect to the service an error occurs There is some issue with this app     Not functioning
Dont waste your time with other platforms This is simply the best                 Best MDM
Well Its a start Ill say that I am slowly becoming a REAL FAN of meraki but I wish there was an iOS app to MANAGE system manager networks This app is for iOS devices MANAGED by system manager That said GPS location and direct push messages to your managed devices is pretty cool but unfortunately I cant use it BECAUSE it has a fatal flaw It leaves location services on all the time This will KILL your device battery and is not worth unleashing on poor unsuspecting users This app MUST come up with a reasonable poking frequency that it uses to monitor location Default checking once every hour might be ok With the option for admins to change it via the system manager policy Until this is implemented you would be crazy to push this to your users since location services always on is the default behavior Hope this gets fixed        A start
I dont really know what this does My school made me get it So Yeah                 Umm
Definite improvement                 Works great
I installed this app earlier today Later I noticed that my location services icon was always on I wondered whether it was related to Meraki I went into Privacy Location Services and lo and behold meraki was the culprit I quickly uninstalled the app This app doesnt give me anything I didnt already have from the web interface To echo other reviewers I need a way to review managed devices not just verify the profile     Not impressed
There have been a lot of improvements made on battery life and efficiency for this app Im definitely a fan Works great on iOS 7                 Fantastic
Does it report the Internet usage the sites visited if so where     Question
My school required us to get this for our iPads and they can basically see everything on our iPad not let us get apps download apps delete apps and show exactly where we are so if your school makes you get it dont     Reasons not to get it
I wanted to us this app to more easily manage my home Meraki network Unfortunately I cant use this app at all because the installation of a MDM mobile device manager profile on my iPhone is mandatory However I already have another MDM installed required by my employer and you can only have one installed on your phone I dont want this app to manage my phone I just want to use the app to manage my network     Forced MDM is an app killer
I understand the constant polling of the app for GPS updates thats the only reason to install the app and the only way for a dashboard user to accurately track a devices location but couldnt it just retrieve GPS data when it is requested by the dashboard Battery life will drop considerably if location services for this app are left on        Alert Battery drainer
I was happy to see there is a app now but it is missing something important There are other tracking apps that lock settings so the users cant change them Also the location service looks to always be active           Well
The best part about this app to me is the ability for a student to see a list of apps that have been assigned to them and they can redownload them Before this app you would need to use the Meraki Dashboard to resend an app to a student who cancelled the initial Install prompt Also this makes Enrolling in our MDM a snap                 Perfect for forgetful students
Dont be mistaken Meraki MDM is a MOBILE DEVICE MANAGEMENT software Meaning that if you install the application and are enrolled by someone you are generally signing your device off to said person All devices operating Meraki are able to be managed remotely All of your data is automatically encrypted to the main base or where the devices are being controlled from Ie A Desktop Computer running as an administrator Aside from that Meraki allows for easy device management but is difficult to download if you plan to MANAGE devices yourself           Be Careful
Still draining battery like its going out of style This could be a great little frontend to a great service Unfortunately it is marred by the same design flaw that has caused the same problems for the big boys in MDM which is that the programmers havent figured out that GPS doesnt need to be on 247 Polling every 15 minutes or longer or even having an administratordefined poll period would be much better           Constant GPS Usage
If you use managed apps in meraki and you already have a meraki profile pushed to the iPad you can open this up and it will automatically find the profile But if push this app via VPP which I do so I dont have to touch 200 iPads to enter an iTunes usernamepassword it will not find the profile Also it keeps locations services on at all time I would make it check every 30mins to an hour to save battery life           Two big problems
Location services On all the time     Location services
Users I have deployed this to use iPhone 5s devices with 100 mophie juice packs They can no longer make it through a work day without charging their phones This compared to them being able to go at least two days without having to plug in before           Battery killer
I love Meraki devices and their concept however this app needs work Biggest issue location services seems to be pulling constantly rather than givingpushing location only when requested It drains battery life I have to turn location services off which decreases major functionality of the app knowing location of devices within our outside the network When this is fixed Ill be happy to give more stars           Love Meraki but app needs work
After loading iOS7 the App does not find the previous enrollment and even after reoloading the profiles on the device the App continues to say it is Waiting for MDM Enrollment to complete and never ends This is a big deal since we have Meraki on over 1000 devices in our School District           iOS7 Issues
Location services always running on the phone     No good
Still destroys battery with GPS 247 tracking We use this for tracking our company phones so the GPS stays on It destroys the battery Why cant it do a ping of where the user is at once asked not using the GPS 247 This is the only missing part        GPS kills battery
App says that location services need to be enabled even though they are     Location services
If you know how to use this its a great tool for MDM                 Excellent
