Markup - Annotate, Grade, and Sign PDF Documents, Contracts, Forms, Notes, Papers, Assignments, and Blueprints

I was so excited to see this app Since Im teaching totally online this year I thought this was the perfect solution I really like the ease of use but after 4 papers it started crashing on me I couldnt get it to reopen and had to restart the ipad I dont have time to do that after every 4 papers graded After reading that it doesnt work with gmail I knew I had to move to something different Ill do more homework next time as I see it hasnt been updated since June of 2013 That shouldve been a clue Kind of feels like the developer gave up on it The website wasnt much help either Good concept but theres better apps out there        Better Apps out there

Love the ease of opening a document marking it up and sending it directly back to the student Still many shortfalls here though 1 Cannot zoom into document Must be able to in order to mark accurately MLA format issues punctuation issues etc 2 Cannot delete documents after finishing with them 3 Cannot create classes I cannot imagine taking in work from 3 or 4 sections of classes with 30 students in each section without a way to separate them Major time wasted trying to figure out which students are in which class Keep working at it I love how easy it is It is missing some MAJOR components           Huge potential

This app has such great potential There hasnt been an update to this app in about 8 months And now with iOS 71 there are some features that no longer work If one were able to sort docs into folders and if the app included a date and time stamp on each document that was synced through the app this app would be the best grading app on the market           Great Potential

I love this app it makes grading so easy I do agree that there should be a way to file each of my classes papers I teach 7 different class periods and would like to keep them organized according to class Please develop a way to file the graded papers                 Love the app

App worked well for awhile but now my students papers arent coming through Tried contacting support but no response Folders would be useful in future updates        Help

I had really looked forward to using this app However I downloaded it set up the email sync and it said it was successful However now the app wont open at all Plus I was never able to open documents I had saved in DropBox Please fix it or tell me what I did wrong        App Keeps Crashing

I agree with all the other comments Its a great start but it needs more folders for sorting ability to work with Gmail etc Also it needs a wrist protection addition so you can rest your hand on page while writing with finger or stylus without moving and marking the page with the side of your hand I found another app called Note Shelf that is everything this app is lacking Its 500 but its totally worth it as long as Mark Up is missing things        Needs more

As a teacher in an iOSheavy school I have been praying for an app like this to come along and it is finally here Deciding to support the apps efforts was a nobrainer because there is a real need to this type of annotation app Paperless is where Id like to be and I believe Mark Up will really help in getting us there One suggestion Putting documents into folders              Finally

I purchased this to markup pdfs I transferred a 6 MB pdf via email and Dropbox Both images were so pixelated they could not be read The graphic quality is terrible Note the pdf was crisp and clear when viewed in Dropbox Evernote and Bluebeam The app would be beneficial if the image quality was legible     Very Poor Quality

Love this app to make my commute useful and save trees My school is moving toward all digital writing portfolios One suggestion make folder creation possible              Useful for the commute

1 Add the ability to zoom 2 Add the ability to organize and delete papers 3 Add google docs integration if possible 4 Add dropbox integration This will be a go to app for teachers to grade papers if you make it more rich with features but not as complicated as some of the other annotate apps              Great start

In a 11 iPad environment this is exactly the type of app we were looking for We just rolled it out to teachers so we will see how they like it One thing they have already asked about is the ability to sort papers If a teacher has six classes they would like to sort them into class groups Even being able to alphabetize would help              Easy to use maybe a little too simple

It never worked right for me after downloading app would allow me to mark up 1 page then it locks up every time Doesnt let me erase     Looks great but

Basic functions are fine and its a great concept The altered form comes back as a PDF which makes sense However something about that PDF doesnt play nice with Gmail when the attached PDF comes back in Gmail it shows as a broken PDF and wont display or open from within the Gmail web page The file opens fine within the Mac Mail app The PDF shows fine in the iOS Mail app as well but cant be opened from there into any other app           Good startneeds flexibility

I installed the app and set up sync and the app wont open beyond this point It is also no accessible through the open in protocols     Crash Freeze

This is a good start but so far from being what it could be Needs folders to group files and an option save to Dropbox or some other storage not on ipad It also would not allow me to open a word document Im still excited to see how you all improve over the next few weeks and months and I will up my rating           Good start

I was so excited for this app to come out As a language arts teacher with many papers to grade this app seemed to be the answer to my prayers However this was not the case Markup has limited capabilities color no zoom no way to write small on student papers even with a stylus Ive found that it wont open Word documents only PDFs I can do all of that plus more with Notability I see no reason to switch and my 199 wasted        Disappointing

Unless I am missing something I would like to have the following options on iPad 1 The option to save document as a template so I dont have to keep sending it to Markup or go to website and open again 2 The option to rename a document Which may be the answer to suggestion 1 3 The ability to file and organize documents           Suggestions

I would like to zoom and a way to type on the document but it really made my grading pretty quick Ill be using it in the future for sure Thanks Add in those two things and itll be a definite 55           Not bad

The email workflow is just what I wanted but I need a text input tool Scrawling handwritten notes just wont cut it for the type of editing Id like to do with this           Almost

No issues with loading or opening documents and the writing is very smooth With that said you are limited in colors for grading you cant delete files you upload and you cant save files to a cloud like Dropbox after marking them up You can only email Im very disappointed with the limited function for something intended for teachers How many teachers actually beta tested this You also cant zoom in on a document Needs more functionality before I can use it effectively as a teacher        So far disappointed and I did the kickstarter donation

Markup made my life so much easier when it comes to grading students papers                 I love this app

Great idea but I needed info before I signed up or the ability to change my name I dont want students writing my complete name for every email because it was too long Also having a separate email is a pain I want students to just use my school email and sync that with your app I would like to be able to organize assignments into folders and zoom in on assignments        Changes needed

I know its a relatively new product but it needs to keep up with the new operating systems Will wait and see but it is useless to me now     Doesnt seem to work with iPad Air

The app is a great idea It needs tweaking When students send me word documents containing chemical reactions I teach chemistry the formatting is changed Arrows and Greek letters are not transposed correctly in the PDF file        Dr Lauterbach

Loved how easy it was to use Just email the teacher or student what you want annotated then email it back when done So simple                 Easy to use

This app isnt there yet There are a few issues and a few promising features but the most glaring problem is the inability to zoom using finger gestures or otherwise That alone renders the app unusable        Inoperable without zoom functionality

The concept for this app is a great one especially for teachers like me who are trying to cut down on paper usage Unfortunately the app doesnt seem to work well My students have been trying to email me their work to the markupsync email address provided for review and so far nothing has synced and appeared Disappointing Hope this gets sorted out quickly Also it would be nice if there were zoom features to allow for adding comments in a more clear way A additional pen colors and highlighters would also be great        Nice idea

Dont get this mess I normally dont write reviews guys so this is from the heart Why cant I create folders Why cant I integrate with my cloud Google DriveDropbox Why cant I choose colors other than the five Why cant I zoom in Why cant I highlight Why cant I annotate power points So many questions And this one can I get my 2 back I also came to edit this review and change it from 2 stars to 1 because I dont send my documents just edit them and half the time it doesnt save and there is no save button Fix this mess     Just why

People are going to need markup for doc files that can be then edited on the computer in a copy of the original document           Great start

I was looking for an app I can use to markup PDF and Word files PDF files worked great but word files would not import into the app when I selected open in Also since I would use this app for work I dont feel comfortable syncing all my work email to the app but would much rather have the app send file to my work email once it was annotated Not worth 2 yet        Almost there but missed the mark

I have waited for this app since I first saw it on Kickstarter I understand this is the first version so here is my suggestion 1Link it with edmodo Edmodo is in desperate need of a way to annotate assignments 2 Fix the bugs Make sure the app quits crashing 3 Add more options Teachers like lots of colors to choose from as well as stamps and sticky notes Let us be able to really annotate our student work As it stands now iAnnotate is a much better app for this it also cost 5x as much 4 Organize greed work by class and assignment     Disappointing

I thought this was the app I was waiting for but alas I like the whole emailinemailout thing but what good is that if you cant organize the files in any hierarchical way by class section or dateAnd whats worse you cant even delete any of the files Writing with a stylus without the ability to zoom in makes things tough Also I tried to use open with and couldnt access my dropbox I have hope they will improve this program which is very aptly labeled version 100        A long way to go

Why the icon doesnt come up when i see email attachment Please resolve How do I delete files It shuts down often this is really a beta product It has too many bugs Update April 24 New update PDFs open but not word docs     Not worth purchasing at this time still need updates

I did have certain capabilities like this app has before but I believe this is the simplest way of doing it Great idea and I do love the way its presented and solved but since I installed it uploaded a single page PDF and is crashing ever since cleared the background apps and even rebooted Cant wait to get the bugs fixed        Havent been able to use it

I contributed to the fund to release this app I have been looking forward to having it I have emailed tweeted and facebooked about this encouraging people to donate money and to buy the app I tried it just now and it IS simple to use but it is so weak Yes I can open files and make comments then reply to the student But I dont want the files forever Is there a way to make folders Can I delete a file Those are such simple requirements that I am surprised were not included While I am happy to have the app and I know there will be more versions released I am disappointed in the current version it does not match the picture painted by the developers     Disappointed

This was funded by Kickstarter and proves why hype can sometimes be a bad thing We all had higher hopes I kind of want my pledge back Until they get the bugs worked out avoid using this app for anything more than drawing inappropriate things on documents and giggling for a second Here is what I hope to see some day Comment text boxes Nobody wants my illegible writing on their paper Be able to delete documents Be able to export or share without email Google Drive and Dropbox support Virtual Gradebook that lives in the app so I can mark and grade simultaneously Fewer crashes Its probably the worst app Ive ever seen as far as crashing goes     Why Hype Can Be Bad

As a teacher I use Neu Annotate because it lets me zoom in and out It also gives me more pen and highlighter color size and opacity choices I can see the potential in the app soIll patiently wait for updates I also think the pen smoothness could improve PLEASE ADD A ZOOM OPTION AND WRIST GUARD Right now Im struggling to grade doublespaced docs dont always leave enough room for comments with such a thick pen size Im frustrated and keep switching to neuannotate        Needs Improvement

I like the ease with which I can write on students work after it has been converted to a pdf file I would like to see the ability to sort files into folders and to delete those files which I have graded and returned The Dropbox and email access is nice but being able to download straight from Blackboard probably using Safari which I do with iAnnotate and convert to a pdf would be nice However I would be more than happy if I can delete files and sort them into folders It really doesnt take much to make me happy and the lifelike writing ability is very natural and easier than on other apps I have used Later After grading three papers and only being able to email one since the app crashedfroze I am not a happy person I will reopen those files with iAnnotate to grade them I pressed send repeatedly with no luck and when I gave up and hit close all of my comments were gone and I am stuck with the files in the app and cannot delete them        Great Potential

I am really surprised that I was charged 200 for this Where is google or some kind of folder synchronization Where are folders for organizing by class Where is the ability to store and edit groups of documents by students Where is the ability to collaborate or to share a document with a student THIS WAS APPARENTLY DEVELOPED WITHOUT THE INPUT OF EDUCATORS I CAN DO THE SAME WORK WITH NOTABILITY OR GOOGLE DOCS ETC              WAIT FOR MORELacks Features

I like how easy documents are imported using the email feature It was easy to send back the documents to students There seems to be no way to organize the files Putting them into folders would be helpful Also a zoom feature to annotate would also be useful Good start           Good start Room for improvement

Crashes approximately every two papers I try to grade Loads of potential but needs work        This has so much potential but it crashes

I thought this app would be lifechanging before I purchased it I dont usually purchase Apps but its actually more trouble that its worth It crashed right when I was ready to send back two times and there is no way to save your work Wait until this gets MUCH better before buying it unless you have a lot of time to waste     Dont buy this version

I decided to give the app a try but I am underwhelmed It does not come close to the other similar apps already available It is too basic and does not include many of the features teachers need when grading essays Adding a zoom feature to enhance the clarity of written comments would be a step in the right direction It was released too soon further development is needed A positive feature is the ease and flow of the writing tool It is the best since the no longer available Noterize        Needs Improvement

Standard pinch gesture does not work so I cant see my text Worthless     No way to zoom

I send a document and it says it was successful but when I open the app the documents arent there Please fix this I was looking forward to using it     Let Down
