MarineCast

This provides all the information a sail boat needs on the Great Lakes That is where I use it Includes marine forecasts and wind vector forecast maps I use this all the time The nearshore marine forecast for all NOAA weather stations are no longer available in text form That was the best part of the app and I miss it If there is a weather station nearby the readings for that station are available I dont leave the dock until I have checked the weather with this app This was a four star app when it had the NOAA reports           Great on Great Lakes

Have a sailboat and so am extremely sensitive to winds and weather Use Sailflow constantly and am amazed at its accuracy combined Witt eh NOAA reports its hard to miss                 Use it every day

Its great to be able to see wind predictions as I am either getting ready to sail or actually sailing I can easily flip through the various screen shots to see what is developing a huge help to make more specific local predictions both in terms of wind strength and directiona key asset for racers Having this readily available in an easily readable graphic format is a great help Its an inexpensive app that is well worth it                 Love it

I saw this reccommended by Boat USI really should have done a trail run if possible but there were no reviews Save your self some money and see if there is a free trail Its the clunkiest interface and crashes Wish I had just stuck with Wunderground and the free material from NOAAtotal waste of time and money     Would not even be worth freeuseless

This App is poor It does not give any information that can be used The forecast just shows colors which I assume mean different wind strengths but there is no scale nor any values to tell you what e predicted wind speed will be It is useless The rest of the info just as useless I wish I did not waste my money     Not worth it

Hi everyone I dont often pay for apps on my iPhone but I have to tell you if you sail this app is well worth the price On land I finally have a way to see if I should be working or sailing With Marine Cast I can instantly see both the marine and wind forecast from anywhere I am The sailing season on Casco Bay is short and now I never miss the best days On the water just being able to quickly read the National Weather Service forecast for my area without tuning to weather band and listening through the rotation is enough to justify the expense For competitive sailing MarineCast is a great resource for pulling uptodate strategic information about where the wind shifts may come from and what conditions to expect throughout the race The tide information combined with the predictive wind models are absolutely fantastic For me to have all of this information in a handheld device available anytime and anywhere is priceless As a quick easy to read handheld source of information MarineCast is simply the best I would highly recommend this application to anyone that spends time on the water                 MarineCast is the iPhone app I have been waiting for

We use marine cast for our trips north and southhelps keep us up to date with wind speeds and directions              Ok for cruising

After Spending my 599 to download the app I discovered that Alaska was not included Totally useless since I live in Alaska Perhaps a note regarding this Also could not select less than 1 star when writing this review     Alaska not included

Been using Sailflow to help win races for years Marinecast is my portable version and the reports have become even more reliable The only things I fault is a lack of legends on these small images and the fact that its very difficult to read the wind direction arrows when theyre white Theyre extremely small and in lower wind speeds there isnt enough contrast to make them stand out Otherwise go for it              Gotten very reliable

Wrote a detailed trouble report and review and had it deleted Imagine that App does not run on a iPhone 3GS Saw it run on a 4 But on my iPhone it just displays the banner page and dies     Developer

This is not it I havent found the wind predictor to be at all accurate and the lack of legends on the maps makes the data fairly useless The only part Ive found useful is the NOAA integration     Still looking for a good weather app for sailing

App is busy to much going on slow to load not scaled properly wind graph just difficult to read better off going to webpage to get this information than using MarineCast There maybe some good information presented in this app but you cannot read it Demo shots from itunes is misleading     Unhappy with 5 charge

Sailflow has gone java heavy and of course does not work on the iPhone they also have Marinecast whihc is kind of a basic wind charting graph product not that great really Marinecast gives you Sailflow wind ad weather charting its a combnaton of both and it works on the iPhone a well spent 6 beans UI is modern and nice I have a Sallflow subscription so not sure how tis looks or works without one possibly limited Thomas Lynch sv Akula Mt Sinai Saling Association                 Marinecast Saiflow Windalert
