It would be a great app if I could actually log on I even had them email me my login info and still got Authentication Failed Im not the only one who reported this Come on guys fix this     Log in doesnt work

2 months and no reply from iTunes on subscription that does not work Basically wasted the yearly subscription Great magazine terrible app     Dont bother to subscribe in iTunes

Content Good App Bad I gave this app a low rating because 1 I bought a 1year subscription last weekend through the Make Magazine iPad app The current issue MAKE 44 did not become available when I paid for the subscription and is still prompting to Buy Issue UPDATE June 20 2015 the next issue after the date I paid for the subscription MAKE 45 became available for download when it was released The waiting time from date I purchased the subscription until the next issue was about 3 or 4 weeks I suspect I may not be the only one who gets confused about this 2 Make Magazine iPad app is not in the iOS News Stand with all other magazines Instead it is with other general purpose apps I hope Make Magazine will fix this Now that the subscription has started the content is great     App is Bad Seems Fixable

Its not quite ready for primetime I have a print subscription so after I got them to send me an email with the account number which is not on the actual paper magazine just on the throwaway wrapper I thought Id be able to log in So far no luck just authentication failed and Im able to log in with a laptop        Clunky interface

Works great Love the inapp links Love the animations too Sure theres a little lag time for downloads but considering what you get its worth it                 Exactly what I wanted

This used to be a fun way to read Make but not it wont let me download anything Please come out with a new version so I can get my Make on     iOS 8 Make Busted

Let me just say I love MAKE I really get a kick out of the magazine and love to share the stories with my son and students That being said This is the worst app I have ever used I bought the magazine a month ago and have yet to be able to download an issue Total crap     Wonderful magazine crap on toast app

The app is inconsistent Once it was awesome Since then it has never worked correctly It gets confused about which issue I should have included in my subscription and which ones I should pay an astronomical 6 for Every time I log in it changes but now its holding steady on not letting me read the latest issue which was the only one it let me read the first time I logged in The log in is your subscription number which is some arbitrary number they assign you and theres in way youll ever remember it for when you have to sign out and sign back in to try to get it to recognize your subscription correctly But once it does work even if youre reading some other issue besides the done you wanted it works pretty well after that and links to external pages and has good internal links to articles        Inconsistent

I cant download my previous purchases It crashes everytime        Needs iOS8 Update ASAP

Finally after RTFWP on the customer service site youll learn that your password is your zip code and NOT your makers shed password Really folks Is it that hard to use the same password as the makers shed store Sounds secure to me You really need to do a better job of telling people that           Your password is your zip code Uuuuggghhh

It should go in Newstand with the rest of the magazines     Put it in Newsstand

When published the ios app issues are pretty nice Unfortunately the ios app version of the magazine is significantly delayed relative to the online PDF version As of this review date March 25 issue 38 has not been released despite being available via PDF since 311 The fact that they charge an a for both formats only adds to the frustration        Delay in IOS App issue release

Downloads seem to take forever Even longer since the app only seems unable to download except when active Usually that means staring at empty pages until sleep sets in           Very slow

Do not subscribe on your iPad Clearly has many issues that no one cares to fix Ripoff     Do not buy

Nice to have with me anywhere I go Sometimes hard to navigate through though              I like it

Im thrilled theres finally an iPad version since loading PDFs on via iTunes is a pain That said some thoughts Should be in Newsstand Its next to impossible to find any account info on the website and the address labels go to the trash when I get the magazine Downloading my PDF of the magazine just asks for my email address Password should be relabeled to Zip code Please keep working on this app and keep putting out the PDF edition for digital archival Thanks           Nice start

The app and content is good but Im puzzled why this isnt in Newstand I like having all my magazines in one place     Why isnt it Newsstand

Somebody should Make these guys an app that works The USPS could deliver an issue of the print magazine faster than they download via the app     Unbelievably worthless

Make should be located in the native newsstand app like all other magazines Also every time I try to download an issue I get a Download Error message While the UI is nice I wish more effort was put into making this app actually work     Should be in Mewstand Download Errors

The digital editions are supposed to be available right away when new editions come out but make magazine 45 has been out for a few weeks and I had to buy the paper copy because its not showing up in the iPad app even though Im a paying subscriber           Nice magazine app not updating

navigation isnt great too easy to jump to a different place in the issue when trying to view table of contents also isnt this an ipad app sooo landscape view people i have the ipad mini and for some things landscape view would make reading a lot easier consider some real UX testing ive shut down autorenew if i decide to reup likely the contents good ill probably go for the enhanced pdf instead 142015 eta DONT subscribe via iTunes iTunes Make subscriptions do not talk to each other or to subscribers in a consistent manner Really awful and confusing My subscription confirmation from November at one point gives the instruction to click below but below are three links So which one to click iTunes is somehow an intermediary to the Make subscription department but here I am with a paid subscription no account no account number just a receipt of having paid iTunes for a subscription and a single issue of Make So was that 1999 Well see I have a support request pending that should not even have been necessary     not very good

Authentication does not work Forgot password link emails your credentials unfortunately when you enter them you get authentication failed App is not ready for prime time     Not quite ready

After more than a month of emails with tech support I still cant access the issues that I paid for with my subscription I keep getting referred to mobile tech support and they never reply     Worthless

Works well when it works but when it doesnt it doesnt It would be nice if we could report issues from within the program           Okbut

Love the magazine hate the app Its truly disappointing to see a technologicallyrich magazine like Make completely drop the ball when producing a supposedly technologicallyrich version of itself especially when its so late to the party in doing so As others have pointed out this belongs in the Newsstand rather than as a separate app But its also almost completely devoid of features other than a few clickable links and simple animations and as I write this the latest issue has been available for over two weeks online in PDF format and my subscription copy has been in my hands for over a week but the issue has still not appeared in the app In fact the app hasnt been updated at all in two months and still only offers access to 6 backissues of the magazine Make shame on youchange the title of your app to Make Do until you decide to put some effort into it     No Newsstand late issues basic features

This should be in the newsstand and have a user interface similar to other mags              Mags

Great to have all the issues in one device Great goto source for the inquisitive mind It randomly quits when accessing some of the videos              Love to make

The content is awesome and the layouts often make use of being digital instead of just a PDF in an app like a lot of these I have tried However the app itself seems buggy I downloaded an initial mag to check things out and everything worked great So I went in for a years subscription two weeks later and I still cannot download the current edition Have two or three stories that just say downloading and on the content screen it looks like I have only 28Mb of 244 downloaded I have left it open I have uninstalled and reinstalled deleted and started over all to no avail Id rate the Make content at 45 stars the app at 12 stars if I could separate this hence the middle road rating Really hope they fix this           Mixed bag

Upgraded to ios8 now wont let me read all my previous issues They are downloaded because I can see them if I hit the remove issues from iPad but no way to read them Gives error message about cant install restart app Yet again their subscription access to issues people paid for is flakey as per other reviews        Ios8 broken

The app is awful I often get stuck on pages unable to swipe to the next page Pictures get stuck when you open them to get a bigger view Also how long do we have to wait for this magazine to appear in the newsstand Newsstand has been around forever now why hasnt this app been updated        5 star for magazine 2 stars for the app

Im a longtime Make subscriber and I recently renewed my paper subscription I saw the opportunity to add digital content at a modest cost so why not I can take Make with me on my iPad and not have to carry the magazine when I travel I was able to download the current issue but every other download fails Error connecting to server and when it does download it only gets a few percent of total and the download fails again The rate of download is incredibly slow several minutes for maybe 10 of an issue I dont recommend paying for the digital subscription until the app issues are resolved Its not worth it at this time     Great magazine bad app

As much as I love MAKE magazine the app seems like a sad afterthought from a great publication It uses a different login than its web based counterpart and it took me awhile to figure out that they meant my print edition mailing zip code when they said password after the hassle of getting my account number While I can deal with it being listed as an app it really should be in magazines and while I dont know if it pushes new editions the online version and print has been out for over a week but has yet to be added it to the iOS app version I want to like the app but this is far below what Id expect from MAKE     Sad afterthought for a great magazine

I love this app It has a great interface and the issues have been updated with animations and videos Much better then reading the PDFs It also looks great on the retina enabled iPads Dont believe the 1 star reviews this is the best way to read Make                 Great way to read Make

I have been trying to download my first issue for the last 4 days I called the 800 help line twice and sent 3 emails No help I constantly receive a cannot connect to server error Its not my internet connection since I have not been having problems with any other app Paid for ezine and signed up for premier recurrent auto pay Not seeing any premier service I WOULD THINK A TECH MAGAZINE COULD MAKE THEIR APP WORK     Wont download mags

I made the mistake of installing the make magazine app I havent been able to read single issue I paid for Ive called customer service at least 20 times to get it fixed They are no help I will not subscribe to make again     I hate this app
