MacTech Magazine for the iPad. Established in 1984, MacTech Magazine is the only monthly magazine focused on Apple technology. Distributed in over 50 countries in print, MacTech is read by tens of thousands of technical ...
MacTech WAS a leader in Mac development articles but the app and magazine have fallen off the path The publication schedule changed so you never know when a new issue will arrive It has been close to a year since a new issue was published and the app has gone stale Now it doesn t even work with iOS 11 Emails to customer service only say they are working on and need help Offers to help have gone unanswered Sadly all they focus on is conferences RIP MacTech magazine     Will we ever get an update Shrtcrt
It doesn t work for subscriptions And they haven t updated it since 2014 I m surprised it launches     They should just remove this app from the app store rcgottlieb
Clearly not ready Enticed into buying print subscription with the added benefit of free access to iPad version After taking my money for the print subscription I can t even access the iPad account after downloading the app For an Apple Mac specific publication one would think MacTech would be more adept at this Alas not so     Disappointing WF Harbin
Bought paper subscription and supposed to get iPad app copies as a perk 3 months later I have yet to receive a copy by mail and when I tried to download app versions I got charged for them Contacted MacTech to attempt a resolution before I left feedback and they promised to refund or fix Since then they ve went dark and have not returned my emails I m out almost 60 and I am quite disappointed     Buyer Beware Money Sunk
Now that iPhones have bigger screens 6 and 6 Plus the app needs to be reworked to accommodate iPhones too instead of just iPad         iPhones now have bigger screens CoreySWilson
I must have 3 quarters worth of subscriptions and I can only see a couple of issues and all the rest need to be purchased Please fix your in app purchase issues before you put up more issues out     Seems like a ripoff crushed
I usually find very good content for my OS X IT job in every issue of MacTech magazine but this app is very frustrating I ve consistently had issues with the app correctly giving me access to the issues in my subscription it s now early September and it s still showing the May issue as the latest UPDATE reinstalling shows the June issue available for purchase although it should be marked as a free download since it s in my subscription and there s another issue used as the app icon but it s not listed anywhere as available Aside from keeping the issue availability updated and correctly tracking subscriptions the interface is Let s say lean There s no support for bookmarking there s no search functionality you can t flip pages quickly it seems that if I swipe faster than once a second it ignores the swipe and it frequently mis links issues so I ll open the April issue and see The May issue s content Finally their Store page the default location when you start is about 1 3 taken up by a large un closable ad for one of their conferences Mind you I m interested in possibly attending one of these and I still find them to be annoying Because of this ad you can only see six issues in profile orientation 4 in landscape So while the app is pretty bad the content is good and makes dealing with the app worth it but I hope the MacTech people can get their act together pretty soon as this is waaay below the UI expectations of most iPad readers         Good Content Lousy App shakabuku
For some reason it s telling me my account isn t active I tried logging in but it just says the account already exists There is no place to log in just to create my account What gives         Not working tsom
It doesn t appear that they update this very often It s July but the latest issue is from May That s really slow in the technology world sort of the way that MacWorld operates By the time the issues come out we ve already heard everything about what s in the magazine I was hoping to find a tech magazine that will be full of great tech tips and info that would help me do my job better While reading an issue I had to turn the page twice to get to the next page Why Because I was greeted with an ad on EVERY page I realize that MacTech needs to make a profit in order to give is a good product but someone needs to think of a better way to do this It makes the reading experience very tedious             Looks like a good source of info but hdi2
I am sure the content is great But I ll never know because the download experience is terrible The downloads are taking forever they don t download in the background And the connection just fails Maybe see you with the next version             I want it to work But AzShrapnel

Ah okay Thanks Neil                     my bad sorry Hal Itosis
The MacTech application is found in the Newsstand app on the iPad Like all apps that support newsstand you won t find it as a standalone icon                     MacTech is an iOS Newsstand App neilticktin
